It's July. Every servant from the general's mansion is preparing for the birthday banquet of the first miss.
Lianhua, the first miss, is the daughter from the first marriage of the general with his first wife who passes away at her daughter's birth.
This woman was the love of his life but he was forced by his elders to marry a second wife soon after the first wife got pregnant with a girl.
They badly wanted a heir not just a daughter to continue the house's legacy of warriors.
At the girl's birth, the first wife unexpectedly dies and soon after they find out about the second wife is pregnant but unfortunately she also is expecting a girl.
The luck is not in the general's house for now.
Now the first daughter turns sixteen years and is time for her to enter the palace. At birth she was bestowed as the second prince's future bride.
This idea makes her step-mother to be jealous on her and often the first miss is bullied by the step-mother's servants.
Now everyone is meticulously preparing for the big day where high ranked officials and nobles will attend.
At this banquet will come even the second prince, the future husband of the first daughter. It will be the first time for her to meet him.
It has been announced that the prince will come in the day of the banquet but unexpectedly he arrives earlier.
All the people from the general's house go before the royal suite to greet the second prince, everyone expect Lianhua.
The step mother stops the servants who go to give the information to the first miss before they can deliver it, so she doesn't find out about her future husband's arrival.
Her loyal maid is closed in a dark cell and tortured till death because she dared to oppose them.
