A typical hot morning of April, I was getting prepared for the new school I have just been admitted to. As a normal boy of grade 2, I was just thinking about how many new buddies I'll be meeting, what we'll play and stuff like that but little do I know that this event will be a remarkable one in my life, that I can't forget it for upcoming decades.

Oh sorry!! I forgot to tell you, I am Alex a typical smart boy which is basically a pure introvert. Before this school, I was only home tutored by my mother and this is the first time I'll be attending any school and that too directly in grade 2. I have zero to no experience of conversing with other children of my age and this is also because of my natural introvert nature and I am also a single child.

Since this was the first time I was going to school everyone is really tensed up. I have me, my father and my mother in my family living together in my house. I think the atmosphere in the house is tense enough to make even an old geezer nervous.

I'll be taking a bus to my school and also that's my first time sitting in public transport. I used to traverse with my family always in our own car so there was not a sole opportunity for me to try this out. I could have taken my own car and driver for dropping me and picking me at school but my mother firmly denied it, she thinks I should mix well with the other children of my school so that I can gain an understanding of society. Even though I was scared like a pig going to the slaughterhouse, while I was moving to the bus stop with my mother and father I can't do anything and that's where it sucks.

As we reached the bus stop, I turned around to see what this place looks like and there were some beautiful flowers planted around, I was just seeing them when a hand patted on my shoulders and it scared the shit out of me ( you know I am an introvert that lacks any experience outside my house) and I forcefully turned around restraining all the fear that I have in my heart to see a beautiful girl standing there with an adorable look towards the flowers I was holding.

For a boy who doesn't even talk to his own cousins, I was shocked to see a girl as cute as a fairy in the stories mom used to tell me when I was small.

She extended her jade-like hand towards me and asked in the most melodious sound I have ever listened to " Can I take that flower?". I was drowned in my own world.

Before I can even react the flower was gone from my hands and so was the girl.

It took me sometime before I recovered my senses and I heard school bus's horn followed by my mother's call 

" Hey, Alex what are you doing there standing dumbfounded, come here school bus is here!!"

**Yeah that was our first meeting**

I boarded the bus with great hope to spend a beautiful day with my new classmates, and I was attempting to change my nature from a highly introverted boy to a carefree boy who can play with everyone.

As we got closer to school I was really becoming more and more nervous as I was still a boy who likes to hide in a corner even in the public gatherings, this nervousness of mine was really a pain in my ***. This always stopped me from socializing.

Finally, it was the school ground where the bus came to a halt and students were pouring out like water leaking out of a cracked bucket. This overflowing nature of young students can't be restrained by a bunch of teachers guarding the bus' gate for any mishap that may occur due to the commotion.

Finally, it was my turn to get out of this bus and face my first challenge in this new school. I took a deep breath and stepped forward to get out of the bus.

BUT mishaps never miss ruining my confidence.

Just as my foot was about to land on the steps my foot slipped from the edge of the very first step where my foot just landed and with this, there came a sound “thud”.

“ Pufft” and several students were trying hard to control their laugh after seeing a fellow student falling off from the bus on his very first day. They glanced over me, who was lying flat on the ground trying to control my urge to cry due to the embarrassment I brought on myself due to my careless nature. I was just hoping everyone to disperse so that at least I would at least feel less shame while getting up and heading to my classroom.

While I was just hoping this to happen and was praying to God a hand tapped on my back and pulled me up from the ground. That hand stroked on my shirt removing the dirt from it and then it suddenly approached me with a handshake gesture, so I followed the nature and shook my hand with that hand.

Up until now, I was still looking down to escape the mocking gazes of my fellow students.

I repressed all the shame and embarrassment in my heart to look up to the person who helped me and kind enough to not mock me. I looked up and saw a smiling face full of hope, seeing me.

“Hey my name is Ian, I am a student of Grade 2 Class A” said the boy who helped me.

“I am Alex, same class and grade, I am actually a new student joining today” I responded.

“Hey, that's great!!, would you like to be friends with me?” inquired Ian with a hopeful look on his face. With just a look at him, I can tell we were actually sheep from the same herd in terms of socializing.

I was really elated to know that I can be friends with someone just after entering this school. Apart from learning my biggest target after entering a school is to make friends, thus I suppressed my excitement in my heart and said:

“Sure I would really love to be friends with someone so kind-hearted”.

Even though, I was trying to suppress my excitement it was clearly audible in my voice.

“Okay let's head to the classroom, I'll show you around,” said Ian excitedly trying to hold my hand and drag me towards the staircase.

I nodded and followed him towards this new journey of my life, “The Classroom”.

I entered the classroom for the first time in my life and this was the first time seeing these many children of the same age groups collected together. My eyes swept through the entire classroom looking for any familiar faces in the hope of finding someone I may have known during my small life till now but all I saw were children with different faces and characteristics, I have never met them nor have I ever have a talk with them but still there was a feeling of similarity between us, this feeling was really new to me as I have never lived in a community of children this big till now, still it was really warm feeling, and now I know why family wanted me to stay in school for half a day for my upcoming years even though I can learn at home.

While I was just feeling this comfortable environment with all my senses activated Ian brought a few students to me and introduced me "Hey this is Alex, our new classmate who is joining us from this year onward. Also, Alex, these are my few old friends who have helped me till now. You can also be friends with them."

I smiled and extended my hands to shake with them as a gesture of accepting friendship. "Hey I am Alex, I am new and this is my first year in any school and thus I have not experienced any rules and regulations of the school, so I'll be dependent on your friends"

They were clearly surprised to know that I'll be attending school for the first time in my life until now. Thus, they preferred to re-confirm and asked: "Are you really attending school for the first time?"

I nodded and confirmed, "I am really attending school for the first time and up until now I was taught all the subjects by my mother."

They said, " You must be a really smart student as you can learn everything till grade 1 all by yourself without attending any school if it were us we would have never been able to do any of that all by ourselves."

I replied, " Friends I am really not that smart since I was all alone in my house, rather than learning and reading there was nothing else I can do this I spent my time only learning and currently I have read everything till grade 5 and will soon be starting with grade 6 course."

They were stunned, if earlier they were considering me only a genius now I was a monster in human skin standing in front of them they yelled, "Whoa!!, Alex you are… are you really a mortal like us or are you an immortal who was hiding in a cave before and now you have come outside to enjoy the new mortal world."

I was really not trying to laugh and then I told them, "I am a mortal like you. Hahaha but guys you people are quite imaginative, you thought of me as an immortal hahaha..."

Ian interrupted, " Okay, let's drop this topic and help Alex find a seat to sit down before our homeroom teacher arrives."

Stephen, one of the guys whom Ian brought told, "Yeah we should really help him find a seat to sit but I think we would have to wait for our homeroom teacher."

I and Ian at the same time "WHY?"

Stephen continued, "because there are no empty seats left to sit, so we'll have to wait for her to get a new seat allocation plan for the classroom."

Ian nodded in understanding.

Suddenly, someone shouted, "Hey why you lot are standing near the door, haven't you heard the bell ringing?"

We were surprised, we turned our head to see a beautiful lady of about 24 years was walking toward us, before I can ask out of my curiosity that who she is, Ian shouted "Good Morning Teacher!, we have got a new classmate this year but there were no empty seats for him to sit thus we were helping him find a seat to sit."

The teacher nodded in understanding and told us, "Ok you people sit on your seats. I know Alex, Vice Principal told me about him, so I'll allocate him a seat."

My new friends just nodded and then went back to their seats without speaking a word further. This homeroom teacher was really strict to every batch thus everyone knows it's better to listen to her and not interact with her any further.

Miss Stella, my homeroom teacher once glanced at me from head to toe then started looking around the classroom in order to find a seat for me. She was looking around then suddenly she stopped and pointed at a seat in the first column and told me

" Go, sit there beside that student there's still a place for a student. In our school students always sits in pair to increase socialization."

I nodded and turned toward the desk teacher was pointing at and was about to step forward but was extremely shocked the moment I saw whom I was going to sit with. It was like a lightning bolt struck me.
