"Grandpa! Grandpa! Can you read the poem to me again? " a four year old girl begged her grandfather as he tucked her to sleep. It is already past her bed time but the excitement for the poem in the little girl makes her unable to sleep. The old man stroke the little girl hair. " Alright, but after this, promise me that you will go to sleep. " The little girl nodded excitedly. " I promise you grandfather and I never break this promise do I? ". The old man laughed at her reply and adjust his glasses, giving out a small cough.

The Rose
Far in the wild life,
two roses were grown close together.
As they grow ,
they tangled onto one another.
The torns they have make it worse.
Desiring for freedom,
many methods were tested.
But they failed.
Annoyed by it, the other rose come up with a plan.
The plan in which it would fulfill its desires.
Everything goes well, as the other rose deceased to ground.
But it backfired, leaving the rose in loneliness and pain.
And so with regrets the rose live on...
As the old man finished reading it, the little girl look at her grandfather in admiring eyes. The poem is her favorite one which her grandfather has written it for her after her late father's death. Not long ago at father's day, the little girl was brought up to a sad news that her father has die from car accident. She is only 4 years old, even if she doesn't know what death means she could feel the pain inside her. Since then her family has been struggling in her financials. She is mostly left at home with her grandfather and her mother busy at her work. Her mother tried to give time for her daughter but it doesn't usually work out. But the little girl is a clever girl, her grandfather has explained to her why her mother is busy and not with her and she understands her mother and even helped her with housework together with her grandfather. They both always have fun listening to their fav songs and dancing throughout the night. Playing many games which are mostly make up and they have lots of fun. During those times, her grandfather taught her many things, starting with her manners to life lessons. Her name is Rosy but after her father death, most of them called her Florence, except for her grandfather who likes to call her Rosy.
Sometimes he would told Rosy about her father when he was younger and the little girl enjoyed listening to them.
The old man closed the book and put it on the table beside her bed. " Goodnight Rosy." he said softly as he gave her a goodnight kiss on her forehead. Florence hugged her teddy tight,
" Goodnight Grandpa, I love you."
" I love you too."
Tears dropped down from her eyes as the rain gets heavier. From the loud thunder sound her mother called her out gently, " Dear...we should go now. The weather forecast has announced that there will be a big storm tonight.." The girl stood still like a tree and doesn't say a word. She kept staring at her grandfather grave. The burial flowers are wet from the rain and her grandfather photo is barely seen. Her jaw tightens as more memories flash in front of her. " Mom...Can I have some time...alone. " she requested with her dry voice.
" Florence... " " Please mother.."
Her mother nodded and walk away. After looking back at her daughter for a sec, she is gone.
Florence swallow her saliva, trying her best not to cry. She knows she would breakdown anytime soon but she doesn't have the heart to.... because of her grandfather wish. She knows her grandfather the best and she knows that he won't want to see her in that state. But it is difficult for her to suppress her emotions, her heart is now completely broken. She has loved her grandfather since she is a little girl, the pain inside her hurts worse than the one she felt for her father death.
" If you need to cry, just cry it out..It would be worse of you bear it inside." a gentle voice said. She turned to find whose voice does it belongs to but find it almost impossible since the dark clouds have blocked the moonlight. Soon an adult man came out from one of the trees. " Long time no see, Rosy.."
