“Oh no, I am going to be late! ” Sami said as she dashed to get to the blood red gates of Sauni Secondary.

The gates were closing but she had a head start. She sprinted sliding between the space in the gate and getting up dust herself off. The guard looked at her surprised, letting her go to her class without any disruption because she did make it in the school in time. As she was walking past a corner something bounced into her and she looked up to see a tall girl with long black hair covering her face, most likely a transfer student over her.

“Sorry. ”

“Are you ok? " Sami asked when she saw the tall girl getting up.

She nodded as helped Sami up.

“ Which class are you going to?” Sami asked

The girl pulled out a time table from her pocket and showed Sami it.

“ Form 2 class 4? ”

“Oh, you are in the same class as me” Sami said taking the girl's hand and leading her to the class.

It have only been two weeks since she joined the school but she remembered when all the classes start, where all the classes were and the fastest way to get to it.

“ Can I use you as my reason for coming late please?”

“Our homeroom teacher can be very strict” Sami asked as they both approached the almost filled, quiet classroom.

The girl nodded and Sami heard a very soft chuckled.

“ Wait a minute do you have a rubber band or scrunchie to hold up your hair? ” Sami asked concerned for her.

The girl shook her head in disapproval.

“ The teacher will probably give a bly because you are a new student but for all the other times remember to wear on a woogie or rubber band to hold up your hair” Sami said, letting go of Sami's hand and made sure the girl didn't have anything out of place before entering the class with the girl following behind her.

“Sami, why are you late?” Ms. Meran asked as she stared at her, awaiting her answer.

“ I was helping the transfer student reach to class” Sami replied calmly looking back at Ms. Meran.

“ Is this true?” Ms. Meran asked turning to the girl.

She nodded once again and Miss said, “ Ok, go and take your seat then” a little disappointed by the girl's short answer.

Sami went to her seat as everyone payed attention to the girl especially the boys.

“ You have to tied up your hair.”

“Does anyone have a rubber band?” Miss asked and instantly a girl replied “ Me! ”

The transfer student took the rubber band and then returned to the front of the class as she tied her hair.

She turned around and Sami finally saw her face and that when Sami realized that it wasn't she but he. Sami had been talking to a boy all the time and she didn't even know it.

“ Well that was shocking" she thought.

You can hear sighs of disappointed from the boys who was so excited and the girls became way more interested especially my friend, Farina who is the ultimate shipper aside from Camis in class 2:5 and Farina’s enemy.

“ Girl, didn't you know he was a boy after all you did escort him to class?” Farina asked realizing that Sami didn't know that either.

“ His face was covered Farina.”

“How am I supposed to know that anyway?”

“Remember he is not wearing a uniform you know and none of us are wearing a uniform neither”  Sami said.

“ Well, you have a point there. ”

“He probably thinks you're are a boy because look at you, baggy pants and a shirt that is obviously too big for you, like, come on girl, you have to do better than that” Farina said as she poked at my shirt.

“Of course you will say something like that, you are a fashionsta girly girl” Sami said.

“ My fashionsta girly girl is how I get guys.”

“If you want to get a boyfriend, you should change up your tactics” Farina said.

“Well thank the Lord for that because I don't want or need a boyfriend.” Sami said turning back to Ms. Meran.

“ You said you don't need one, but you want one don't you?” Farina asked

Sami sucked her teeth.

“ There is an empty seat by Sami.”

“Sit there until I find a better place to put you” Ms. Meran said.

Sami raised up her hand so that he know where she was. The boy sat next to Sami and then Farina asked, “ Sorry, can you tell me your name? I wasn't paying that much attention.”

“ Really Farina? Normally you would listen to stuff like that. He said his name was Shotami.”

“ Normally you wouldn't listen to stuff like that.” Farina said

“ Stop changing the subject , Farina.” Sami said

“ God, I said I was sorry! ” Farina exclaimed

“ It's fine. ” he said with his gentle and soft voice that surprised Farina.

“ See, he said it's fine.” Farina said.

“ Ahem?” Ms. Meran coughed to get everyone's attention who was looking back and watching Shotami.

Sami wasn't that intrigued by him and continued on listening to Ms. Meran, who continued her lesson.

When it was breaktime, Sami took Farina’s hand when she was picking up her bag and dragged her out of the class and towards the staff room.

“ Hopefully it isn't finished. ” Sami thought as she went inside and opened the box. In it was two neatly wrapped breakfasts in foil. Sami picked up two giving one to Farina. They both walked to the library and saw Shotami walking to the staff room.

“ If you are going to the staff room for breakfast, there is no more. We took the last. ” said Farina

“ Oh, Is that why you rushed out of the class? ” he asked chuckling a little.

“ Yep. Lunches finish even faster.” Farina answered
