I slam the file on my desk and sit on my chair.
I don't like this. I hate it when things not happen my way.
I hate it more when someone gets to shove their d¡ck in my business.
I hear my door knob twisting. Nobody enters my office without knocking. A few exceptions though.
I glare at the shadow entering, ready to snap at whoever it is.
My father enters, with a frown on his face he looks at me.
He is one of the exception to enter my office because he is the boss but he wouldn't be for long.

Anything new?
I know what is he asking for and he can read it in my expression. I hate to see disappointment in his eyes.

I glance at my father who is smiling devilishly.
Hard to admit, but I might have to agree with him in this case.
It's not like I don't trust my father. Trust in blood is important for us.
My father and I don't share a typical father and son relation where father wants good for his son.
As my father left, within an hour I had gone through all the information about Frank Cotroni and his family again.
But still I can't actually get why he propose the marriage alliance. And why her?
I stare at her photo, hazel brown eyes stare back at me, plump lips forming a tight smile that display her apple of cheeks.
There are many photos in every photo she looks beautiful but something is missing in all the photos like she is pretending.
I have to see her with my own eyes.
That's why I ended up outside her college the next hour.
She was exiting a few minutes later with a guy and a girl.
She is wearing an oversized t-shirt which is tucked in a blue jeans. Bit of old fashioned.
I was leaning on my car when she locked eyes with me from a distance.
I keep my eyes on her when she approached me I thought she knows me.
She look me from top to bottom before saying goodbye to her friends.
She hold out her stuff to me and when I didn't take it she frowns.

The man standing in front of me smirk and check me out just I did a few minutes ago.
He is intimidating. With dark hair, tattooed forearms peeking out of his black button down shirt.
He is in all black. Just like my Uncle Frank's men dressed but not particularly the uniform.

I glance at his muscular body filling his shirt. He is in intimidating handsome category.
But not my type, I wouldn't dare to have any relation with my bodyguard like I did last.
I thought my uncle wouldn't give me a bodyguard again. But here he is or I thought so.

So what are you waiting for? let's go.
I look behind him, he has Ferrari 296gtb in black.
I didn't know my uncle give such cars to his bodyguard to escort me.

He says while opening the passenger door for me.
He gets behind the wheel.
I did the same as he did but it came out breathy. And he closes his eyes taking a deep breath.
I feel odd being in close quarters with him in the car. I'm surrounded by his masculine scent.

He was about to reply when my phone rings.
I denied the call seeing it's my uncle.
He is devil disguise in human skin. I hate him.
If I ever got the chance I would put a stop his pretend and escape with my younger brother, Antonio.
I don't know why he is calling me now, his bodyguard has picked me up as he told me he would.

Getting out of my thoughts, I look at him.

It's your boss, you might deny his call but I apparently do.
He looked at me longer than I would like before dragging his, gaze towards the street.
When my phone rings again, I put my phone in silent mode.
As we were nearing my uncle's mansion, I start to get anxious.
Daniel pulled up outside the gate. I was expecting him to stop the car at driveway.

Here... Outside.
just as I was about to reply, a bodyguard from the gate emerged and my side of window
I got out of the car and the guard pulled me by my arm

I froze still digesting what he said when I look at the man who drove me here slipping out of his car.
In the blink of an eye, he was between me and the bodyguard. I gasp as he squeeze the throat of the guard.

It's been 2hrs since Daniel Griffin dropped me at the mansion.
I still can't believe I took a ride from him, and talk to him.
Daniel Griffin, I never knew him in person but I know for sure I didn't like him.
I actually hated whatever his family did to mine.
I don't know for sure if he was involved in it or not.
But damn sure they are my enemies for life.
I still remember the day when his family crushed mine and changed my whole world.
I knew for a fact that my father was involved with the Griffin's Irish Mafia living in Chicago.
But he was forced to for my Uncle, who is a total jerk.
However, I couldn't find a single reason why Daniel picked me up.
Of course, he knew who I was; he dropped me on my doorstep.
Uncle Frank gave me a good lecture and threaten to harm Tony if I again dismiss his call but he didn't say anything about Daniel.
A fear crawled inside me, when I realised he might have been here for something his family couldn't finished off that day?
I suddenly wanted to meet Tony, so I walked out of my door.
He stepped in front of me.
Apparently, Mike was my new bodyguard who was supposed to pick me up.
And because of whatever mess happen earlier we didn't get to have a normal introduction.
Uncle never bothered to introduced me to whatever asshøle he chooses as my guard.
But I somehow create a mutual understanding between us, which are not always good.

Boss says you're not allowed to get out of your room unless he says so.
I thought so. Mike apparently was going to be manipulated by me.
He is handsome and broody like any other bodyguard but he was a boss man.
He could've fight against Daniel's hold but he choose not to because his boss had said so.

I turn to him. He signaled Mike to go.

He stepped towards me. I hated him with all I have.
