The Villainess's Savior: Who are you?!

“Father, I want to declare the annulment of my engagement with the daughter of Koyushi!”, the Crown Prince shouted as he stood up from his cushion seat.

The Emperor turned to the Crown Prince, “Why do you say so?”

“I am in love with Nanami Yoshida. She treats me better than Miyoko! She has always been by my side..”, the Crown Prince paused and glanced across to the woman he love before continuing. “All Miyoko wants is just power, father! And even before these events occurred, Miyoko tried to harm Nanami. She tried poisoning Nanami and even tried to poison me, father! I’ve kept quiet about this, but I have enough!”

“Is that true, Miyoko?”, the emperor asked, surprised by the sudden accusations.

Miyoko trembled and jumped up from her seat.

“N-no! I didn’t mean to do it. I was controlled by Nanami! Please believe me..!”, Miyoko pleaded in tears as she bowed down.

“Liar! How dare you make up a false story to try and blame Nanami?!”, the Crown Prince shouted. “And those two sisters, Chiyo and Akio have also tried to harm Nanami! They are just as guilty as that wench. Please make the right decision and kill those traitors!”

After much more back and forth, the emperor had enough.

It was then the guards came and took Miyoko and the two sisters.

After the death of those three, Miyoko’s family- the Koyushi, cut ties with the royal family, the Uesugi. Soon, the royal family went to war with the Ishikawa Kingdom. Upon the next three years, the Crown Prince would lead the royal family to victory.

During the celebration to honor the victory, the Crown Prince announced the engagement to Nanami, and soon they were married. Living happily ever after~!

“Wow, you actually got a happy ending! I got the normal ending because I’m broke.”, Ji Woo sighed. “Although, sadly the villainess died. She was quite pretty.”

Both Eunhye and Ji Woo were average college students in their dormitory who were playing the game, “The Holy Commoner”, at midnight in bed.

“I did spend a lot of money to get it. Also, I admit, she is even prettier than the heroine! By the way.. I just noticed that the villainess said the same thing in all of the endings.”, Eunhye said as she collected her rewards in the game.

“Maybe Nanami actually controlled Miyoko. .. What if the true villainess was Nanami and not Miyoko?!”, Ji Woo gave a fake shocked face.

“It doesn’t seem too far fetched, but I doubt it.”, Eunhye laughed at Ji Woo’s expression.“Hmmm… How would you react if it was true?”

Ji Woo thought about it for a moment and answered, “I’d help Miyoko and get rid of Namami not going to lie. What about you?”

“Hmph, Nanami is the best girl. She can’t even hurt a fly. I doubt that it would be true.”, Eunhye responded. “However, I might still be on Nanami’s side even if it was true.”

“HAHAHAHAHA I’M ON MIYOKO’S SIDE! Let’s fight!”, Ji Woo shouted.

“Ready, Set, Fight!”

“OH MY GOD! It smells!!”, Ji Woo ran to turn on the fan and opened the door.

Eunhye laughed evilly and smirked, “Turning on the fan only expands the smell!”(◣∀◢)ψ

(╥╯θ╰╥) “I love you, but I also hate you. Anyway, let’s play some games.”, Ji Woo said and turned on the ps4.

“I won’t show no mercy!”, Eunhye laughed as she jumped up from her bed and grabbed a controller.

“Save me!”

Ji Woo woke up by a girl screaming. ‘Huh? Where the **** am I?’, Ji Woo thought as she got up and walked around for a few seconds.

Eunhye’s eyes widened startled by the same scream and immediately sprang out of the futon. “I’m not ready to die!”, Eunhye hollered in fear.

Ji Woo turned around, frightened by the scream. “What the... Who are you?”, Ji Woo asked, dumbfounded.

They were in a large traditional Japanese room with tatami mat flooring, sliding doors, and wooden engawa verandas. There were two large futons laid on the floor next to each other with blankets that were made of fine silk and dragons embroidered.

After getting a good glimpse of the surroundings, Eunhye got up from the floor. “..Where am I?”, she whispered to herself. (ↀ-ↀ)

The two were confused about who one another was due to the fact that their appearance had changed. They were both dressed in a kimono with flower designs.

“Who are you?”, Ji Woo asked the girl.

Eunhye frowns, “You answer me first, who are you and where am I?”

“I am Ji Woo Park and seeing how you react, it seems we are both unsure of our situation.”, Ji Woo replied.

Eunhye carefully looked at the girl, “You are Ji Woo Park?”

“Yes.”, Ji Woo said. “I was just sleeping in my dorm and before I knew it... I’m here.”

Eunhye gasped, “Hey, Ji Woo! I'm Eunhye Park.”

Ji Woo stared at the girl with a wtf face. “Pardon?”

“..Did our body perhaps change during our sleep?”, Eunhye mumbled.

“Hold up. What are you talking about?”, Ji Woo asked.

Eunhye walked over to Ji Woo, “If you are truly who I think you are then you would know this.”

“Huh? Who do you- how did you know I love Chanmina?!”, Ji Woo shouted in shock.

Eunhye grins, “I see that you upgraded your looks, Mario Kart loser.”

“Tsk, same goes to you, you low ranked hoe.”, Ji Woo growled.

The two frowned at each other in silence and slowly started laughing.

Eunhye noticed that her hands looked smaller and pale. “..Why am I so thin and tiny now?”

Ji Woo agreed with Eunhye. “Yeah, you were fatter the last time.”, she teased.

Eunhye clicks her tongue and holds out her middle finger towards Ji Woo. “You were no different from me, you bastard.”

“... **** you. But, Eunhye, I think we both got kidnapped and also got plastic surgery. Or we possibly died!”, Ji Woo said.

Eunhye sits on the floor with her legs crossed. “Hmm... This room is too gorgeous to be real. It’s like a heaven bedroom!”, Eunhye concluded.

A moment of silence and Ji Woo said, “ I see... we’ve died.” Ji Woo calmly prayed, “I wished to be born as a rock. Because I want to be a rock.”  (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

“Well then, I wish to be born in an anime world with a handsome boy as my husband.”, Eunhye bowed on her knees and prayed. (╯✧ ∇ ✧)╯

Ji Woo gave her the look —> ಠ.ಠ

“I know you do too”, Eunhye said to Ji Woo. (✧≖‿ゝ≖)

“Goddamn, you know it!”Ji Woo applauds at Eunhye. “But, what if we both are in a manga or game?!”, she gasped.

Eunhye snickers, “I doubt it-“

Immediately the sound of a door sliding interrupted Eunhye.

A young lady in a light purple kimono with black butterflies rising from the bottom and slowly to the mid hips. Her hair was tucked back into a bun. She then lowered her head and bowed, “Good morning, Lady Chiyo and Lady Akio.”

“..What?!”, the two yelled in unison. ΣΣ(°Д°；)

Eunhye and Ji Woo glanced at each other, ‘Akio and Chiyo?’, they both thought.

“It’s time for breakfast. His and her royal majesty are waiting.”, the young lady paused. “Why are you two in your previous outfit?”, she continued with a weird look.

Ji Woo and Eunhye looked down at their clothes and saw that they were both dressed in a kimono with flower designs.

“Let’s hurry and change both of your clothing.”, the young lady said.

“U-uh, who are you?”, Ji Woo asked her.

“I am Misaki, your personal maid, my princess. Have you forgotten?”, Misaki questioned them.

“Uh- well- we-...”, Ji Woo stuttered, unsure of what to say.

Misaki gasped, “Our princess lost their memory?! My lady Chiyo, you aren’t trying to fool me right?” She turned to Eunhye with a desperately worried look.

“We.. actually don’t know who you are”, Chiyo (Eunhye) laughed nervously.

“Could this be the result of you both going into the hidden cave?!!”, Misaki panicked and tried to call the guards and royal doctors. “Note this to the Majesty and her Highness!”

“Hai!”, the guards shouted and rushed to inform them.

After informing Chiyo and Akio’s father and mother, they quickly rushed to the two’s rooms.

“Chiyo, Akio! Are you both alright? What happened?! How did this happen?”, Empress Ichika asked.

Misaki explained what happened, it shocked the two. Emperor Mitsue gasped and held his two daughters close, “Oh no! My two daughters forgot me!” (╥︣﹏᷅╥᷅)

“Uh, haha…”, Akio (Ji Woo), chuckled. “You both look familiar to me… could you be my father?”

“Yes! I am.”, He cried.

‘Wow, he’s much more of a crybaby than the empress.’, Akio thought. ( ͡❛ ⏥ ͡❛)

“..I think I remember him.”, Chiyo whispered to Akio. “He was the hot dude who showed up at the dinner table after Akio and Chiyo died.”

Akio whispered back, “You’re right! Could we both-”, a static shocked through Akio and Chiyo’s head. “A-arg..!!”

“?! What’s wrong??”, Emperor Mistue asked looking at the two girls.

“M-my head..!”, they both said.

“Save me! I was wronged! Please, anyone. Anybody!”

‘W-who..?’

“Save me from N-Nanami!”

Immediately both of them blacked out.

Both of them shook wide awake.

“W-what happened?”, Chiyo trembled in fear.

Akio stayed silent as she too was scared.

“You're here.”, a bright light surrounding two girls spoke.

“Who are you?”, Akio asked.

“We both are Chiyo and Akio.”, they said. “We need your help saving Miyoko from Nanami. She controlled Miyoko, including us.”

“Wait, aren’t those names from the characters in The Holy Commoner?”, Ji Woo questioned.

“Precisely.”, they answered.

“Why us?”, Chiyo asked.

“Because you both have a strong soul. Eunhye, you’re a smart girl. You can easily detect their lies and truth. Ji Woo, you’re too honest. You can hurt them with your words and find what’s right and what’s wrong. We know you both will succeed in saving us all.”

Chiyo laughed at their words, “So basically, you chose us randomly?”,

The two paused.

“Are we the first one to do this?”, Chiyo asked them.

“No, they failed because they tried to avoid the situation altogether or tried to target certain love interest without being able to save Miyoko..”, they both said.

“... We’ll fail too.”, Akio said.

“If you fail, you die. Even in your world.”, they responded bluntly.

Both Chiyo and Akio gave a shocked Pikachu face. ( ͡◓ ⏥ ͡◓)

“Are you just saying that so we’ll be scared and do something about?”, Chiyo grins evilly. “Cause we won’t~”

The two started to panic, “N-no! You have to do it! We’ll seriously do something to you two if you don’t..”

“Give us new powers. I want overhaul.”, Akio said.

“Ha? What’s an overhaul?”, they questioned.

“They’re dumber than I thought.”, Akio said to Chiyo.

“No wonder they need our help.”, Chiyo said to Akio.

“...”, they stayed silent.

Chiyo sighed and reached out her hand, “Alright, we’ll help, but what is it in for us?”

“If you can achieve the goal, you will get one wish. Even bringing back the dead is allowed.”, they said in unison.

“Okay. But first, give us a new type of power.”, Akio said. “Your powers seemed pretty weak in the game.”

“..You have not achieved the goal. You can’t make a wish.”, they responded.

“You idiot. It wasn’t a wish. It was a command.”, Akio stated.

The two clicked their tongues, “We’ll not change it.”

“Okay. Give us your past memories, it’ll be easier for us to get through life.”, Akio said looking bored to death.

The two agreed to give their memories to Eunhye and Ji Woo. “You both are the first one to ever ask for our memories. We wish you the best of luck.”, they slowly faded away.

“...Akio! Chiyo!”, a voice shouted in the distance.

“...My daughters, please don’t die!”

“My ladies!”

“Hmm... I..”, Chiyo slowly opened her eyes.

“Chiyo!”, Emperor Mitsue cried happily.

Chiyo glanced at her father, Emperor Mitsue, and then her mother, Empress Ichika. She then turned to her side and saw Akio. Her eyes widened and pushed Akio out of the Futon. “You bastard, you took us to the hidden cave!”

“I apologize sister. But, you didn’t need to fucking push me.”, Akio smiled as she got up from the floor. ‘You wench, why the hell did you push me for?!’

“My daughters are back!”, the Emperor Mitsue wept and tried to hug his daughters.

Empress Ichika immediately grabbed the collar of the Emperor, pulling him away from them. “The doctor said you both are fine, so I expect an explanation from you two.” She said with a smile and then dragged the Emperor away. “Rest well, my lovely daughters. I hope to see you at breakfast.”, she said before disappearing into the hallway with the Emperor Mitsue.

“My ladies, now let’s get you both dressed up. Breakfast may have gone by already, but we’ll prepare another set of warm and delicious food for you both.”, Misaki said and quickly dressed them up and then led them to the dining room.

They both arrived in the dining room and were guided to their seats. The Emperor was in the middle while the Empress sat across from Akio and Chiyo.

“Greetings, Father and Mother.”, Chiyo and Akio bowed before sitting down.

“Sorry for the commotion from this morning. I showed a horrible side of myself.”, Chiyo mumbled in embarrassment.

“Not at all~ I’m glad you both seem fine now.”, the Emperor Mitsue laughed.

“I heard that you both lost some of your memories after you headed into the hidden cave.”, the Empress Ichika said as she took a sip of her green tea. “I will not punish you two if you both told me the truth.”

“It was Chiyo’s fault. She begged me to take her to the hidden cave to pet a stray dog we’ve found.”, Akio said. ‘Shit, what if that dog transformed into a hot dude.’

“Tsk. Akio still took me so it’s her fault too. Also.. we lied that we lost our memories so we wouldn’t get in trouble.”, Chiyo spoke as she stared at Akio. ‘This Mario Kart Loser better go along with this.’

“We apologize mother… we were just scared. We promise we won’t go there again!”, Akio gave her the puppy eyes.

Empress Ichika tried to resist Akio’s puppy eyes, but eventually lost. “Fine, you both are forgiven.”, she smiled.

“Yes, mother!”, the two shouted happily. “Thank you for the food!”

The four of them continued to chatter during breakfast.

It was night time and they retreated back to their room.

“Chiyo, do you want to go take a look at the hidden cave and find out how we lost our memories?”, Akio asked Chiyo.

“I mean I’m quite curious too. Since it is the only thing missing from their memories”, Chiyo said as she got up from her futon.

Akio got up too and opened the door.

“Princess? Do you need-”, Akio immediately slammed the door. “So, how will we escape the guard?”

“..Should we test our powers? From my memories given by the original Chiyo, she often used her wind magic to scare the guards at night..”, Chiyo giggled.

“Yeah let’s do that~”, Akio agreed. “I’ll be a torch for us.”

Chiyo puts her hands on the door and slowly closes her eyes. The wind from the outside could be heard moving at a faster pace. It almost started to form a low hollow voice. The guards started to talk with each other to ignore the hollow voice.

“Damn it. It’s not good enough..”, Chiyo grunted.

Chiyo stopped the wind and formed a female figure behind the backs of the guards. “Stomp on the ground as if you’re waking.”, Chiyo whispered to Akio.

Akio started to walk and Chiyo made the figure imitate Akio’s steps.

The guards turned around and screamed, “G-ghost!” They quickly fled right after Chiyo made the figure disappear.

“Alright. Let’s go Akio! Light up a torch.”, Chiyo said as she slid the door open.

Akio lit up a torch and they both ran to the hidden cave. “The hidden cave is blocked by talismans! What should we do? Burn it?”, she asked Chiyo.

“I don’t think this is just simple barrier talismans.”, Chiyo held out her hand towards the talismans and tried to blow it away. The rapid wind almost blew Akio off her feet, but the talismans stayed in the same spot.

“Hey, watch it!”, Akio yelled.

Chiyo then tried to tear the talismans off only to get burned. “Fuck. Akio, you try it.”, Chiyo said as she stepped back from the talismans.

Akio then went and tried to take off the talismans and it came off. ‘Wow.’, Akio then continued to take all the talismans off. After that, they headed into the hidden cave.

“Let’s go Chiyo!”, Akio said.

“W-what? Did it not hurt?”, Chiyo asked as she stared at Akio’s hands.

“No? I guess I’m just that powerful.”, Akio stuck her tongue out. “Anyway…”, as they continued running, they reached a dead end. “...? Where are we now?”, she asked Chiyo.

Chiyo then tried to tear the talismans off only to get burned. “Fuck. Akio, you try it.”, Chiyo said as she stepped back from the talismans.

Akio then went and tried to take off the talismans and it came off. ‘Wow...’, Akio then continued to take all the talismans off. After that, they headed into the hidden cave.

“Let’s go Chiyo!”, Akio said.

“W-what? Did it not hurt?”, Chiyo asked as she stared at Akio’s hands.

“No? I guess I’m just that powerful.”, Akio stuck her tongue out. “Anyway…”, as they continued running, they reached a dead end. “..?? Where are we now?”, she asked Chiyo.

“There doesn’t seem to be anything, but let’s look at the walls in case there is a secret passage.”, Chiyo said as she grabbed the torch from Akio and set it in the middle.

When Chiyo set the torch onto the ground, it started to show a circle with some unknown writing. “Chiyo! Look at the ground!”, Akio shouted.

The ground began glowing. ‘Ah, shit. We are dying huh… it was a good life in this body.’, Akio thought.

Chiyo tried to grab Akio and make a run for it, but she crashed into an invisible wall surrounding the circle. “Dammit!”

“Fear not my child.”, a female voice echoed.

“Who’s there?!”, Akio yelled.

“We are spirit kings and we want to form a contract with you both.”, a male voice spoke.

“No thanks.”, Chiyo and Akio said at the same time.

“Why not? Everyone wanted to form a contract with us-”

“And we don’t.”, Akio picks her nose.

“Yeah, we don’t trust a voice who claims themself as a king.”, Chiyo scratches her butt.

“What?! No, you are going to accept us!”, the female voice cried out.

Chiyo smiles evilly, “Did you two get stuck in here for so many years, you are almost desperate to get out?” (◣∀◢)ψ

“Of course not! We can go out as much as we want!”, a male voice shouted.

(◉◡◉) “Then, go away and let us out.”, Akio said. “Also, appear in front of us or are you scared?~”, she teased.

“Hmph! You will regret this..!”, the voices shouted in unison.

Suddenly, a bright light blinded Akio and Chiyo. As the light faded, Chiyo and Akio could make out two figures.

As Chiyo’s eyes adjusted to the dark once again, she saw how the two creatures looked. “Oh my goodness. There is a lion and racoon..”, she said with a shocked face. (ﾟ艸ﾟ;)

‘So many regrets.’, Akio thought. ‘They look ugly and scary...’ (╥︣﹏᷅╥᷅)

After a few moments, the two creatures suddenly shrink. “Oh no!”, they shouted in union.

“Did you two run out of power? Is that why you want us to form a contract?”, Chiyo asked as she bent down to have a closer look.

The lion and raccoon looked away nervously, “Hehe.. yeah.”

“It’s such a coincidence to have met the two-spirit kings already..”, Akio said.

“..Oh my, I remember them! Those two are like the spirits Nanami had in the game except she had a bird called Hikari.”, Chiyo whispered.

“Hikari?... How do you know him?!”, the raccoon exclaimed in surprisement.

“That monster..! He was banned from the spirit world!”, the lion trembled in fear.

“Monster? Can you explain more about it to us?”, Akio asked.

The raccoon and lion both hesitated.

The lion answered, “Hikari is no ordinary spirit. He was made from forbidden magic. It took 1,000 spirit users to lock him up. He was locked up 14,000 years ago. How-”

“You guys are so old.”, Akio interrupted.

Chiyo smacked Akio’s head. “Continue.”, she said.

“Ahem, how do you know his name? He was forgotten by all races. But he was never forgotten from the spirit world. Only the elders in the spirit world know of him. Not even the young ones nowadays know.”

“Chiyo, did Nanami use some sort of magic to obtain this creature? If so, then Miyoko was definitely controlled. What should we do? If we tell the crown prince or anyone, they wouldn’t believe us anyway…”, Akio said.

Chiyo sighs and shakes her head, “We don’t know it's true power, but for now we can assume that Nanami controlled Miyoko with her spirit, Hikari.”

The raccoon walked up to Akio and Chiyo, “If you want, we can aid you considering that we are Spirit Kings.”

“Since we’re spirit kings, we have more power. We can sense any danger around you. Spirit kings cannot be controlled by other spirit holders and we will be loyal to you. If we betray our holder, we will slowly die off and disappear from the spirit world.”, the lion said.

“Alright, we’ll make a contract with guys. But, what do we get in return for making a contract?”, Akio asked.

The spirit kings smiled proudly, “You get fancy weapons and our loyalty.”

“Hmm… What else?”, Chiyo question.

“..And we’ll also help you save Miyoko from that Nanami.”, the lion said in a serious tone.

“Then... Let us start the process of the contract.”, Akio said as she walked up to the lion. “Do we choose or you choose?”

“Preferably, I rather choose.”, the lion paused and stared Akio in the eyes. “Seeing how you walked up to me, it seemed like we are in a mutual agreement.”

“Heh, how observant of you.”, Akio chuckled.

“I guess that leaves me with you.”, Chiyo smiled.

The raccoon felt a shiver up her spine. “O-of course.”, she replied as she avoided eye contact.

“The first step is to drop some of your blood on our head.”, the lion pointed at a white jewel on his forehead.

Chiyo lowered down to the raccoon’s height and reached her hand out, “Use your claws to cut me.”

The raccoon obeyed her words and cut Chiyo’s palm. “Now repeat these words when you are dropping your blood on my jewel: I ask of you to form this contract with me, be my aid, oh holy being. I am hereby announcing the bond between us. What is your answer?”

Chiyo hovered her bleeding palm over the raccoon’s jewel, “I, Chiyo Ishikawa, ask of you to form this contract with me, be my aid, oh holy being. I am hereby announcing the bond between us. What is your answer?”

The raccoon bowed down and spoke, “Wherever you may go, I shall follow. Give me a name and I will protect you for life. Loyalty is by law, if I betray you, I will seek any punishment given even death. You.. are my master.”

A light glowed from Chiyo’s hands. Her cut and burn disappeared without a trace. “You are now Hoshiko..”, Chiyo smiled and patted Hoshiko’s head hand.

Akio did the same thing as Chiyo where she asked the lion to cut her palm. The lion then said, “Repeat this as well as you give me a name: I ask of you to form this contract with me, be my aid, oh holy being. I am hereby announcing the bond between us as you give me a name. What is your answer?”

Akio said the same thing as Chiyo, “I, Akio Ishikawa, ask of you to form this contract with me, be my aid, oh holy being. I am hereby announcing the bond between us, Alpha. What is your answer?”

The lion bowed down and spoke, “Wherever you may go, I shall follow. Loyalty is by law, if I betray you, I will seek any punishment given even death. You are my master, Akio, I am your servant, Alpha.”

Akio’s cut disappeared when a similar light appeared on her hand. “Thank you..”, she smiled as she stared at her hand.

“Not at all..”, Alpha replied softly.
