My name is Adrian, and I have a problem. As a vampire, I grew up in a castle like other vampires do. I had a normal childhood, well it was all normal except my brother, Liam. Liam left for his training to become head of our household, and despite missing him, I don't want him to come back! He tries to control every aspect of my life, I only had three four years of freedom! It's too short!

I grumbled as I sat up in my bed, glaring at nothing in particular. Today, Liam was coming home. I love my brother, but he's too controlling. I have to show him I'm not a child anymore, and he can't tell me what to do anymore! I stood up with newfound determination and rushed to get ready.

After preparing myself mentally and physically, I left the safe hold of my room and went down stairs. In the living room was Liam and my mother. I stood in the doorway, wide eyed. He changed a lot. His raven black hair was neatly styled, his golden orbs met mine instantly, he has sharp features, more defined than before, and was well built.

At sight of me, he stood up and made his way towards me. He easily toward over me, his strong masculine colone immediately infiltrating my nose. He hooked his thumb under my chin and pulled me in for a kiss. It was slow at first, my cheeks lightly flushed. Then he nipped my bottom lip before pushing his tongue inside.

He pulled away only after our mother cleared her throat. She looked at Liam with a light glare before turning to me with her usual smile. It didn't take long before I caught my breath and went to sit next to my mom. I heard a deep frustrated growl leave Liam, but he still followed me back into the room, taking his prior seat.

I shifted uncomfortably under his heavy stare. My mother broke the uncomfortable and tense silence by speaking first. "Liam, how was your training? I see you haven't listened to your fathers' advice," My mother said with a tight smile. My mom was a purebred vampire, hair as white as snow with red eyes. Classical features of a female vampire. I took after her despite being a male. Liam was the perfect example of a male vampire.

Liams' lips twitched upwards with an amused tint to his eyes. "Oh mother, no matter how much training you give me, I'll always want what I want. I suggest now that I'm back, you stop trying to come in the way of that," He stated. I could hear the underlying threat.

I was shocked to see Liam openly defy mother like that, but I was even more shocked to smell a hint of fear coming from mother. "Am I missing something?" I asked, completely confused on what was happening.

I remember them having a rough relationship before Liam left, but I don't remember it being this bad.

"Nothing love, why don't you go and get ready for school? I'll have Alex drive you today," Mother turned to me with a soft smile. A smile immediately formed on my face. "Yes mother!" I said as I jumped out of my seat and ran to fetch my book bag.

"Who's Alex?" I heard Liams deep voice rumble throughout the room, directed towards my mother, but I didn't care, I was outside as soon as I grabbed my book bag.

"Alex!" I yelled happily, throwing my arms around the taller man's arms. He turned to me with a huge smile on his face. "Ready to go to school?" He asked, taking my book bag from me. "Yes sir!" I said with a silly salute before hopping in the passenger side of the carriage.

"I heard Master Liam was back," Alex said after a few moments of silence. I nodded my head. Why was everyone so afraid of him coming back?

"Lighten up!" I said, lightly slapping his shoulder. A small smile graced his lips as he focused on the road. "Even though brother is a control freak, it doesn't matter, I'll show him who's boss," I joked, showing Alex my muscles. This made him smile ear to ear. "If you say so," He mumbled, concern filling his scent.

"Why are you worried?" I asked, looking at him with concern. "I told you to stop doing that!" He said with fake frustration. "I told you, I can't tell my nose what to smell and what not to!" He laughed and I soon joined in with him.

"Alright, we're here, I'll come pick you up after school ends?" He asked but I shook my head. "No I'm going to stay after school and head to Axel's house." I said, climbing out of the carriage. Alex nodded and pulled the carriage away.
