Superhuman System
Prologue
My name is Heroi Badadep, a 17 year old high schooler in Senippil, a country located in Southeast Azea.
Life has been playing with me lately
It started out fine, with no worries at all being a carefree child doing whatever the hell I cared for. I could fool around for days without getting exhausted and not needing to consider its consequences.
I would get a scolding or get my *** beaten up for it, but the next day it would just slip in my mind and forget all about the butt-spanking-pain.
When entering early adolescence, it was at that time that I got to realize many things.
Things like goals and ideals
And how silly and childish my decisions and actions were in the past
It spiked up my self awareness, causing me to chase my own dreams and the expectations of those who are close to me.
But as I grew older, things weren't really going my way
I thought I was blessed more than other people out there
I thought I was really lucky, having a complete family
Having your mother and father to be with you throughout your life
Feeding you 3 times a day
I was really happy for it, the thought of having such a simple blessed life
I expected things would just go as easy and fine as it is....
It didn't happen. I was wrong.
I thought your family is your ally against all odds...
... but they could also be the reason for your loss, and DESTRUCTION.
One night, I couldn't handle myself from the pressure and ran away from home.
And unfortunate as I am, I got into an accident not too long from my escape.
I didn't remember anything since then until I woke up knowing I was already laying on a bed at a certain hospital with my minor injuries patched up.
I continued to make my rest, when suddenly I was approached by strangers in black suits.
I was surrounded. My eyes carefully searched for staffs to call for help, yet there was no one around on the vicinity.
Strangely as the people in front of me looked, they were kinda formal and not rude to interrupt my personal space, then one of them went closer and offered an opportunity to work for them,
I was baffled, thinking I still am a high schooler with no qualifications to enter work nor have finished college
The man in front, seemed to be their leader, didn't explain much of the details regarding the matter. All he did say was that if I join, I will be compensated handsomely, but there would be risks
Suspicious as they may, I accepted the deal without having any further thought. Considering also my situation where I have nowhere to go and have nothing with me right now
Heroi Badadep
I have nothing to lose anyway
I muttered to myself, with the pain heavily weighing myself down.
After that, I was escorted by the people as soon as I got out from the hospital, and it wasn't too long when we arrived at their place.
I was brought in a lab, with other people who were in a similar situation to mine. I was suspicious of the activities inside the place, yet I didn't mind since it won't make any difference to me.
We were treated like lab rats along the process. People were dying getting their bodies used by these psychopaths. I knew something crazy was up with these guys from the start as soon as I saw these labs, yet it didn't faze me at all. I didn't mind what was going to happen to me. Furthermore, I was not afraid to lose this already devastated life of mine.
I was continuously experimented countless times. My body has gotten weaker with how many holes it had received from the numerous injections and unknown substances being injected.
I was also tied up with different kinds of tubes and wires all over, and at some point, I couldn't keep myself up and slowly started losing focus until I was dead unconscious.
Despite my condition, I could still hear and feel a bit during the preceding days I was being experimented, yet the toll was too much for me to handle, and I couldn't tell what was going on. Things went hazy from there on out.
At some time, I felt the sensation of my consciousness flowing back to me. Energy was carefully speading throughout every single nerves I had.
I slowly opened my eyes, catching my breath while pushing myself to move.
After a while, I successfully got up to see the dark sky that was already painted in a violent yet dazzling blazing red.
