...Julia's ****POV****:...
I was sitting in the couch watching TV and then suddenly a notification came on my phone. It was a text message which read -"why are you not picking up your phone Julia ?". This text message was from my cousin who lived in another town. Our home where we were currently living was of my Maternal grandparents, after they died, the property belonged to my maternal uncles. My father bought the house from them but had only paid three-fourth sum of the money. That's why my cousin was constantly bothering me to pay back the due amount. She is very meticulous and evil in such matters. So, I had to deal with her like she deserves.
Somehow I persuaded her that I will pay the due amount within two years but she was still very frustrative. Yeah, I was trying to solve this problem because I knew my father wasn't in that condition to pay them. He's a private engineer working in a lowclass company. The salary he got was suitable to run our home and my brother's college expenses. On top of that, we had to pay our home taxes too. Overall we were in huge debt but my father wasn't capable to do anything about it.
I wanted to earn money but still couldn't because I was just a high school graduate and my parents were not willing to let me work anywhere for money. Still, I didn't wanted them to feel pressured because of all this.
Author's POV:
Let me tell you about Julia's personality- A very bubbly, down to earth girl, minding her own business and having a motto- Live and Let Live. She is very optimistic towards life and have a fighting spirit like hell. She cries when situations are out of her control and then fight again. She wants to become a surgeon and is preparing for clearing the entrance exams. She have been in two relationships but the persons she dated were all screwed up. She believe in staying together forever not just random flings. That's why She's single since two years. Yeah! I know she's weird.
Now back to the story-
Julia's POV-
Damn! there's only two months left for my final exams. How am I about to get good grades of there's such problems going on in my family. Sometimes I think being middle class is the root of all problems. You can't live happily or sadly. You have money but limited. And then all your dreams also align in a way where you'll be able to solve your as well as your family's finances. I hate being middle class. The only good thing in it is that we know how to survive in worst situations and have a control on our desires. Also, I know the value of food, money and the hardwork of my parent's work.
But the only cure, to all such problems is to get good grades and get admission in top medical colleges so that I can get scholarships to run my expenses and then save for paying all the debts. Also, I can work part-time in any teaching related field.
Shoot! it's time for my coaching classes, Mia would be waiting for me. Mia was my friend since childhood and she too wanted to become a doctor. She belonged to a well off family unlike me but still she and I were best friends.
Just when I parked my bicycle, I saw Mia like a boiled potato walking towards me in a hurry. I stepped backwards in order to avoid her.
"Do you have any IDEA how long I've been waiting here? You are lucky you reached just in time Or I would have smashed you up. "
"Relax relax babe. And sorry for that. Now let's go"
"alright"
They both sat on the middle benches and the class started. Mia and Julia both were good at studies so they avoided any kind of disturbance and stayed focused on the class. The teachers were happy about their class test results and constantly praised them. This created a sense of jealousy in other students in their class. Lily Adams was the second daughter of a well known family and was among the few of them. She disliked someone getting more grades than her and frequently taunted Mia and Julia. Another boy who got good grades was Josh, he was like a typical nerd but cool and smart. He liked the companion of Mia and Julia and spent time with them studying.
After the class got over, Mia and Julia went to a cafe to refresh themselves. Julia told her about the situations getting out of control in her family.
"Why don't you take money from me babe? You can repay later if you want or not. "
"Nope Mia, You know I can't. Also, you don't get that much pocket money from your parents to pay off my debt. You can pay my sandwich bill if you want"
Both of them giggled and then after sometime went to their respective homes.
When Julia reached her house, she got reminded by her mother that they have to go their relative's wedding ceremony in another town and she needs to pack up. Julia was least bothered about this wedding and then started packing all the dresses she needed. Her mother asked her whether she would like to take Mia with them. She agreed and then the next day, they all took the train to reach the venue.
What do you think will happen at the wedding ceremony of Julia's relative?
