The jarring sound of my ringing phone abruptly woke me from my slumber. Annoyed, I picked up the call without even checking the caller ID.

"Hello?" I answered groggily.

"Jina, please tell me you're not still sleeping," the voice on the other end chided me.

"Yes, it's me," I replied, instantly recognizing the voice. "Good morning. Am I still asleep?"

"Jina, you have a job interview at the coffee shop today," my friend reminded me.

My heart sank. I had completely forgotten about it. "Job interview!" I exclaimed, sitting up in a panic.

"It's 9:56 already, and you need to be there by 10:00," my friend warned me. "If you get fired, I won't be able to get you another job. You need to take this seriously."

I felt a pang of guilt for my forgetfulness. "I'm so sorry. I'll be there on time, I promise," I assured her.

"Good. Don't mess this up," she said before hanging up.

As I hurriedly got ready, I couldn't help but feel embarrassed by my irresponsibility. I vowed to make it to the interview on time and to approach it with a more professional mindset.

After abruptly ending the call without properly hanging up, my friend's voice echoed in my head as I dashed into the bathroom, feeling like I was being chased by a wild animal.

In just a matter of minutes, I emerged, hastily putting on the first items I could find in my closet, which could only be described as a "pile of junk".

As I rushed down the stairs, I did my morning routine which was planting a quick kiss on the pictures of my favorite pop group EFX , who were the most popular pop band in the world.

I harbored a deep desire to take at least a picture with the group's leader, "Aaron" who was the number one heartthrob and the object of every woman's fantasy, including mine.

Before I continue my story, allow me to introduce myself: my name is Jina, and I am a 20 year-old woman who is tall, cute, and slim, but with a somewhat quirky personality.

I possess a unique talent for singing and rapping, and I have always wanted to be a pop singer due to my talent and passion for music.

I am also an orphan who spent her childhood in an orphanage. I know very little about my parents, except that I was discovered abandoned by the side of the road. It's a tragic backstory, and I often wonder how someone could be so cruel as to abandon a helpless baby in such a way.

Without further ado, I ran down the street towards The Coffee shop, where I was scheduled for a job interview. I was determined not to let this opportunity slip away, as I had been let go from my previous three jobs.

While making my way towards a job interview, I suddenly stumbled upon a rap battle that caught my attention. Despite the pressing nature of the interview, I was drawn to the challenge and made my way towards the crowd.

The reigning rap king had just emerged victorious over a female contestant and was on the lookout for his next challenger.

Although I was aware of the importance of the interview, I couldn't resist the opportunity to compete.

"Anyone else want to challenge me" he asked confidently looking around in the crowd for a challenger. In response to the rap king's challenge, I stepped forward and volunteered to take him on.

The crowd was taken aback as I confidently walked towards him, ready to demonstrate my skills.

Unfazed by my gender, the rap guy questioned whether I had what it took to beat him. With conviction, I responded that I was up for the challenge. He then handed me the microphone and queued up a beat on the speakers.

"Please, after you," I told him with a smile, poised to take on the reigning rap king"

"Sure" he said, a grin slowly appearing on his face

"spit fire like a dragon, my rhymes are so hot

I make the haters tremble, and the crowd goes wild with every shot

I've been doing this for years, I've earned my stripes

I'm the rap king, and I'm always ready to fight...."

He was undeniably talented, but deep down, I knew I had the skills to outshine him. When he finished his verse, a small smile crept onto my lips as I raised the microphone to my mouth, ready to unleash my own lyrical prowess."

"Spitting rhymes, I'm on the mic

Every word, I do it right

Never gonna give up this fight

My flow's hot, like dynamite

I'm in the zone, can't nobody stop me

My bars are sick, they'll leave you sloppy

I'm the queen of the game, it's not just talk

My rhymes are fire, they'll make you walk the walk

I put in the work, every day and night

I won't stop until I reach the height

Of this rap game, I'll take the crown

And you can bet, I won't back down"

After I finished my rap, the so-called "king of rap" was left speechless. I knew I had won. It's a good lesson to learn that one should never assume they are the best, as there will always be someone better than you.

Feeling triumphant, I suddenly realized that I was forgetting something important: my job interview. Glancing at my wristwatch, I saw that it was already 10:30. I was supposed to be there at ten, and I knew I had missed my chance to get the job.

"Excuse me, miss, can I talk to you?" a man in a black suit said to me. But I ignored him so that I could try to salvage my interview. To my surprise, the man persisted.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I really need to go somewhere ASAP," I said.

"I understand. My name is Alfred steward, and I could help you," he said, handing me his card.

I took the card, thanked him, and rushed off to the coffee shop as fast as my long legs could carry me.

I'm sorry, but the position has already been filled," the manager said.

"I apologize, may I know the reason?" I inquired.

With an odd expression, she replied, "You were expected to arrive at 10:00 AM, but it's already 11:00 AM."

"I'm deeply sorry," I replied.

"Unfortunately, there's no opportunity available for you at this moment. Please leave," she said as she walked away.

Feeling disheartened, I exited the restaurant. "This is unfair," I thought to myself. "I was hoping to secure the job to gain admission to Hemilton musical school.

Now, it appears that I may never get in." As I gazed at the card Mr Alfred had given me earlier, I crumpled it and discarded it. "What good is it to me now?"

Chapter two

            Alfred pov:-

As I made my way to my music company, my attention was drawn to a nearby battle arena. I parked my sleek black Mercedes-Benz and walked closer, drawn by the captivating sound of a female rapper's voice. Her talent was undeniable; despite my extensive knowledge of popular female rappers, I had never heard someone so natural and gifted before.

As the producer of the popular pop group EFX, I knew the importance of finding and nurturing such exceptional talents.

I approached the rapper, hoping to speak with her, but she seemed in a hurry and not interested in talking. Nevertheless, I gave her my card, hoping that she would consider calling me. Talents like hers should never go to waste, and I was confident that with her skills, she would have no problem getting into Hemilton Music School, one of the most prestigious music schools around.

I went home that day as I couldn't stop thinking about the girl.

As I settled into the comfortable couch in my living room, I couldn't help but think about the talented female rapper I had seen earlier. I hoped she would give me a call, but deep down I knew it was a long shot. My wife's voice interrupted my thoughts as she entered the room and greeted me with a warm embrace.

As we chatted, my wife's eyes widened in surprise when I recounted the events of the day, particularly when I mentioned the female rapper. She couldn't believe that such a talented rapper existed in New York and I haven't discovered her yet.

We discussed the possibility of the rapper being interested in joining Hemilton music school, but we both agreed that it was too early to make any assumptions. My wife offered her support and wished me luck, but we both knew that the decision ultimately lay with the rapper herself.

I leaned back on the couch and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. As much as I wanted to help this rapper and give her a chance to shine, I knew that it was not my decision to make. All I could do was hope that fate would bring us together again and that she would consider the opportunity I had presented to her earlier.

With that thought, I opened my eyes and decided to relax for the rest of the evening, knowing that tomorrow would bring new challenges and opportunities.

.

.

.

"Wait a second, I can't just throw that away"

I hesitated for a moment before picking up the crumpled business card.

As I studied it, I remembered Mr. Alfred's offer to help me find a job. I wondered if he could really make a difference in my current situation.

The card displayed his phone number, and I contemplated whether or not to call him. Eventually, I slipped the card into my pocket and made my way home, deep in thought.

.

.

.

"I cannot believe Jennie sometimes," I muttered to myself as I hung up the phone. "She just doesn't understand my passion for rap."

"Rap, singing, popstar, rap, rap, rap, rap, rap!" she had yelled repeatedly during our conversation, mocking my love for the genre "you just lost another job and you didn't even start it yet"

I sighed and rubbed my temples, trying to shake off my frustration. "Tell me where has that talent of yours gotten you in life?" she had asked condescendingly.

I tried my best to not let her get to me as I stared at the crumbled business card on the table. Maybe the strange man today can help me with a job. I had no idea why I thought of that but that was the only thought that came to my mind

I grabbed the card from my pocket and dialed the number on it. The phone rang a few times before someone picked up.

"Hello, this is Mr. Alfred's office. How may I assist you?" the voice on the other end asked.

"Hi, my name is Jina, I met Mr. Alfred earlier today, and he gave me his card. I was wondering if I could speak with him?" I said nervously.

"May I know what this is regarding, Jina?" the voice asked.

"I was hoping he could help me with a job situation. Actually he gave me his business card today and told me to contact him"

"I see. Well, Mr. Alfred is quite busy, but I can schedule a meeting for you if you'd like. How about tomorrow at 2 pm?" the voice said.

"Yes, that would be great. Thank you so much!" I said, feeling a sense of excitement wash over me.

As I hung up the phone, I couldn't help but feel hopeful. Maybe this was the break I needed to finally do something good with my life and not mess things up this time.

Although I had no idea who this man is or where he works, I just have a feeling he can help me out with my situation

"Few minutes after I hung up, I received a message on my phone from mr Alfred's number saying "come to Hemilton entertainment company at exactly 2pm tomorrow"

As I read the message from Mr. Kang, confusion washed over me. Hemilton was the location he specified -

the same company that owns EFX and Hemilton musical school, the school I've been dreaming of attending.

Why would he want me to meet him there?

Was it just a coincidence or was there a connection?

I couldn't help but feel apprehensive about the meeting.

I tossed and turned in bed, my mind racing with different scenarios of what could happen. What if it was a trap?

What if it was just a coincidence and I was reading too much into it?

Despite my doubts, I couldn't ignore the possibility that Mr. Alfred's offer might be the solution to my current job situation. But the thought of going to Hemilton, where EFX was located, made me even more anxious.

What if I saw someone from EFX? I doubt that is possible

What if they thought I was trying to get in through the back door?
