Time-traveler seeks assistance.
Jenna
sitting in English class
Teacher
talking about sentence structure
Suddenly, there's a bright flash of light, and Jenna feels like she's falling.
Jenna
opens her eyes again What the...where am I?
Jenna looks around and sees a high school classroom that looks like it's from a different era.
The people in the classroom are all dressed in old-fashioned clothes.
Jenna
starts to panic Am I dreaming? Have I gone crazy?
Lily
calls out from the back of the classroom Jenna! Over here!
Jenna turns around to see her best friend Lily waving at her.
But Lily looks different too – she's wearing clothes that Jenna has never seen her wear before.
Lily
(comes over to Jenna's desk) Are you okay?
Lily
You look like you've seen a ghost.
Jenna
I don't know...I feel like I'm dreaming or something.
Lily
Well, if you're dreaming, then we're all dreaming, because we're all here in this classroom together.
Jenna looks around and realizes that Lily is right.
Everyone in the classroom is looking at her, waiting for her to say something.
Jenna
nervously I don't know how to explain this, but I think I time-traveled here from the future.
Other student
murmur in disbelief
Lily
Okay, let's figure this out. What year are you from?
Jenna
thinks I'm from 2024. What year is it here?
Other student
It's 1991. That's over 30 years in the future!
Jenna feels dizzy. She can't believe she's really in the past.
Jenna
What am I going to do?
Lily
But for now, let's just try to act normal and not draw too much attention to ourselves.
Jenna nods, feeling a little calmer.
She has no idea how she's going to get back to her own time, but at least she has a friend to help her figure it out.

The rest of the day went by in a blur for Jenna.
She tried to pay attention in her classes.
But her mind was racing with questions about how she got there.
And how she could get back to her own time.
During lunch, she and Lily sat at their usual table with their friends.
They tried to act like everything was normal,
but Jenna couldn’t shake the feeling that she didn’t belong there.
One of their friends, Alex, noticed that Jenna was acting strange.
Alex
Are you feeling okay, Jenna?
Jenna
(nervously) Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little tired.
Lily
(jumping in) She had a late night studying.
Alex
Well, don’t worry, we’ve got a big game tonight.
Alex
You can catch up on sleep afterwards.
Jenna nodded, grateful for the distraction.
She didn’t want to draw any more attention to herself.
After school, Jenna and Lily walked home together.
They discussed their options for how to get Jenna back to her own time.
Lily
Maybe we can find someone who knows about time travel.
Lily
A scientist or something.
Jenna
But how are we going to find a scientist in 1991?
Jenna
We don’t even have smartphones to Google it.
Lily
What's that??! Tools from the future, gots it.
Lily
Okay, what about finding something that caused the time travel?
Lily
Like a machine or a portal.
Jenna
But I don’t remember anything like that.
Lily
Well, maybe it wasn’t intentional.
Lily
Maybe it was an accident.
Jenna
But how do we find it?
Lily
We’ll have to search for clues.
Lily
Maybe there’s something in your backpack.
Lily
Or your clothes that can help us figure it out.
It was a long shot, but it was better than doing nothing.
Ep 03
When they got to Jenna’s house, they went straight to her room to start searching.
They looked through her backpack and her clothes, but they didn’t find anything out of the ordinary.
Just when they were about to give up, Jenna noticed something strange about her watch.
Jenna
My watch says it’s 1991
Jenna
So, it’s a smartwatch.
Jenna
It’s not supposed to have a time travel feature.
Jenna
But maybe it malfunctioned and sent me back in time.
Lily
(excitedly) That could be it!
Lily
Let’s see if we can find any information about this watch.
Jenna quickly browsed the model of her watch on her phone.
and found a forum post from someone who had experienced a similar time-travel incident with the same watch.
Lily
(reading the post) It says here that the watch was programmed with experimental software that could access parallel universes.
Lily
Maybe it glitched and sent you to a different time instead.
Jenna
That would explain everything.
Jenna
But how do we get it to send me back?
Lily
We’ll have to find someone who can reprogram it or fix the glitch.
Jenna
(determined) Let’s do it.
Jenna
We can’t just sit around and wait for something to happen.
Jenna and Lily spent the rest of the evening researching and making a plan to find someone who could fix Jenna’s watch.
They knew it wouldn’t be easy, but they were determined to get Jenna back to her own time.
