His lifespan shortens as he suffers from heartaches at every moment of his life however, every cloud has a silver lining. Shawn possesses a demonsword called prometheus the sword augments it’s users life force each time it is used to slay powerful enemies.

Hence, shawn was able to use this sword to temporarily alleviate the effect of his curse. The stronger the enemy, the greater the effects of the swords ability.

Hence, shawn hoped that he would one day meet with the strongest person in the world. Because he believes that his curse would be lifted the moment he defeats the strongest person in the world.
