"Humph, humph" she panted, and her heart was pounding, she couldn't breathe, and wasn't seeing anything, everything was fuzzy.

She was screaming for help, but it sounded like a 'blup, blup!'. "Is this it? Am I really going to die here?" She kept asking herself.

While she was still struggling, she suddenly felt a tight grip on her arm, and was pulled out of the water. She opened her eyes a little and saw it was Derek Adams, the cutest guy in class

"OMG! Derek saved me. i have to play unconscious so that he would give me a CPR. I'm so lucky today, F*ck you Victoria." She thought.

As she kept feigning unconsciousness, Derek kept calling out to her, while tapping her arm. She wondered how he knew her name, though they were classmates since the 5th grade, she felt Invisible to him.

Derek didn't think of any other method to save her than CPR, so he leaned in to rescue her, she was too excited to wait any longer, she sprang up and screamed.

Derek was surprised, she looked at him and remembered she was meant to be unconscious, she didn't know what to say other than "Sup.

" Derek chuckled and also replied with "Sup." Then he asked... "Ava, right?" "Yes, Ava Wellesley" She answered trying to act cool.

"Oh, yeah you're LG." He said. A confused Ava asked "what does 'LG' mean? Is It like Life's Good?"

Derek laughed and replied. "Not life's Good, 'LG' as in Loner girl. I heard you were the only girl who came without a date at the school dance, so Tory named you Loner Girl. Get it? Loner girl 'cause you came alone, that's what everyone calls you, isn't it funny?"

Ava was distraught, she almost thought she could be friends with Derek. Things were going smoothly until he had to mention the school dance incident. Ava was so angry, " no, it's not funny." She said.

Derek noticed that Ava found he's joke offensive and rude, so he apologized and even gave her he's jacket to wear, so she wouldn't be cold.

" So... how did you end up in the icy lake? " Derek asked. Ava looked up and sighed, then she said

"I always come here to practice ice dancing in winter. So how do you know this place? I thought I was the only one who knew about this place."

" I used to come here with my father when ever he visited China, we haven't been here for five years, that's because of his work in the UK. But I come here whenever I miss him. You dare not tell anyone what I just told you, not even your pet." He said to her.

Ava chuckled and replied " Ava Wellesley promise not to tell anyone what you just told me. So does that mean we are friends for now? "

" What do you mean by 'friends for now?' are we planning to date or something?" He asked. "Nothing, i meant does that make us friends now?" She covered up immediately. He replied " Fine, we can be friends."

Ava sneezed and stood up " Ouch!" she exclaimed feigning leg cramps so that Liang will drop her off at home, and he did.

AVA'S POV______

I know you all want to know how I actually ended in the Lake, but before that, let's know more about me.

My name Is Ava Wellesley, I'm from New Zealand. I'm a high school teenager who never really got enough attention from her parents because of work.

I was raised by my American nanny named Rachael who came to New Zealand to meet with her Chinese boyfriend, but she eventually got dumped.

Rachael's interest in R- Rated movies and other adult stuff affected me a tinsy bit. Unlike other children whose first words are often 'mommy' or 'daddy', mine was 'Crap'. This caught my parents off guard.

My parents fired Rachael when they discovered her negative influence in my life. They hired ten other nannies, but all quitted because I gave them a hard time, so they brought Rachael back.

NARRATOR'S POV____

You may think Ava is a genius or something, yeah, but not in academics, she's just street smart and naturally intelligent. But when it comes to academics she sees it as a waste of time and money.

That's because one studies to earn money in the future, but when her dad dies, all his wealth will eventually be hers.

One certain day, her teacher Mrs. Hall told her to write an essay on why she hates studying. She gladly took a paper and a pen and wrote a letter instead of an of an essay. The letter made her so angry, but at least she was happy that Ava responded.

One hour, thirty minutes, twenty six seconds, before Fang An fell into the lake. Fang An went for a jog to burn some calories, she saw Huang Sé talking with Meí Lin about Liang Ruí, so she hid behind a bush close to them and listened to their conversation. " I can't believe Liang won't let me go with him to where ever he's going to, and I'm supposed to be his girlfriend. Why do i have to be here holding his Stinky shoes while waiting for him to get he's sweater from he's house. He should be here in 5 minutes. Liang comes there and collects his shoes from Huang Sé and said " I'm going to the Icy lake, I want to calm my nerves, I'll take you next time. But please don't tell anyone about this place."

Fang An got all the information she needed and headed for the Icy lake. Fang An waited for Liang for what seemed like eternity, suddenly a thought popped up in her head " If Liang comes here, what lie would i tell for being here?" As she kept thinking of what to say to Liang Ruí, she picked up a stone and threw it at the centre of the lake, but it didn't break. Thinking it was a thick ice, she climbed on it, but she was too busy to notice the ice was cracking. "BOOM!" The ice broke and she fell in, screaming for help and instead it sounds like a 'blup" This takes us to where we began.

Liang Ruí dropped Fang An off at home, and carried her to the porch and rang the door bell, then Rachael opened the door and gasped. She gestures Liang to come in and he places Fang An gently on the Couch. " Liang, this is my elder sister Rachael, Rachael this is my friend Liang. He saved me from drowning and he carried me home because my leg got fractured when i hit it on an ice tablet. " Fang An said.

Rachael was worried for Fang An, but above all she knew Fang was up to no good. Fang An used the opportunity to get into small talks with Liang, but he's mind wasn't there, rather he's attention was on everything in the living room. He's eyes were filled with awe, practically almost everything was made of real gold. "Who the hell is this girl.?" He thought.

When Liang Ruí went home, Fang An stands up and goes to the kitchen and comes out with two glasses of red wine, and hands a glass to Rachael. A shocked Rachael gulps the wine in one goal and said " I knew you did something, now tell me what you did." Fang An smiles and replies " you know me so well." She tells Rachael everything that happened, but a disappointed Rachael said " girl, you need to take it easy, what if Liang Ruí didn't come there? that would have been your end. You can't be so desperate just because you want a boy's attention." Fang An was really disappointed at Rachael's reaction. She rushes to her room, takes a bath, dresses and then she jumps on the bed reaching out to her phone, then calls her friends Cheng Li a genius 17 year old who grew up in an orphanage even though she has parents, and has no sense of fashion, and Kim Lee an intelligent 18 year old South Korean girl who's mad about soccer, but most especially boys.

Fang An told Cheng Li and Kim Lee all that happened and they both scream in disbelief that Liang almost gave Fang An a CPR.

Fang An was awake throughout the night thinking of how it would be like if Liang Ruí kisses her. The next day, she wakes up humming Taylor Swift's 'Made you look.' She takes a shower, looks at herself in the mirror and smiles, then she opens her closet and decides to go simple, but grand.

She rushes down stairs to eat breakfast, then she sees her parents also having their breakfast and wonders when they got here. " Aren't you wearing a little too much?" Fang An's father asked, she was about to reply, but her mother cuts her off " there's nothing wrong with what's she's wearing, and you refused to send her to a Private school, and I think it's right for her to dress like people the same class as her, If she can't go to a private school, then at least let her wear what she wants." Don't say I didn't warn her, because when she messes up with all these teenage boys who I'm already sure knows how to drink, she would bear the consequences alone, just look how short her dress is." Fang An's father said and she gets up in anger and gives her mother a peck on the cheek then leaves for the garage and drives herself to school.

Fang An picks up her friends, as she does every morning because she didn't like them taking the school bus. Cheng Li and Kim Lee, were surprised by Fang's new look, which definitely screams "give way, I'm rich." When they got to school, Fang puts on a sun shade and steps out of the car with her friends into the school's hallway, everyone stares at her surprised. " OMG!" isn't that Loner girl?" A boy said with his eyes focused on her.
