Part I : Amanda Walker

Clouds were cast over the bustling city, covering it with a grey blanket ushering in a cold wind.
A young woman with a small frame with barely anything to protect her from the cold breeze sat at the top of an apartment building, legs dangling over the edge. A puff of smoke escaped her mouth, her brows furrowed in irritation.
She checked her wrist, watching the clock that was on it, she couldn't even read analogue time, she only watched it to reassure herself that time had indeed passed and still no sight of the person she was waiting for.
An exhausted sigh escaped her mouth and a groan soon followed.

" If you weren't willing to come Amy, you shouldn't have agreed"
She mumbled, putting out the cigarette bud.

" I told you that will kill you one day"
Amahle smiled whilst her friend merely rolled her eyes at her.

" That's what I'm hoping for"
Her friend joined her on the edge.

" Well, I'd hate for you to commit suicide and having the guilt of knowing I could have changed the outcome"

" Unless you have a time machine you could never change the outcome"
Amahle stared intently at her friend, worry marring her face

" You see, I don't know if I believe you"
She exhaled deeply, running her hand down her face.

" Let's just drop it"
Amanda nodded in response although in her heart it was these types of comments that stayed with her forever, and they made her hate herself more, she hated having a friend who had it all together while she was still struggling to pick up the pieces, she hated how perfect she was, how whenever she saw her she always seemed to glow with a halo hovering above her like an angel, she hated to admit it but deep down she despised her friend and most of all, she hated that she couldn't be just like her.
She swallowed back the bile that had started rising up, hating herself for thinking about her friend, the only light in her world of darkness

" Depends on where we're going"
Her voice came out rather clipped and strained, something Amahle chose to ignore.

" There is an exclusive club on the more high end party of town and a friend put me down on the list for this weekend, I could squeeze you in"

" It's not a problem, now let's get drink on your cheap wine"
