The Meeting
It was just another normal day for Cindy and her mom. She was getting late for work and as the CEO of Angeltech, she could not afford being late. Punctuality meant everything to her.
Cindy
Mom, I have got to go. I can't let my employees take me for granted. This will just give them an opportunity.
She rushes to pack all her files for today's conference.
Julia- Cindy's mom
Honey, don't feel so insecure I know that you've changed because of all the hard experiences you've been through. Let yourself off the hook and have some fun, once in a while!
She kisses her daughter's forehead before she practically races away towards the car.
A call flashes on her phone, It was Jason. She picks it up.
Jason
Hey Cindy, where are you? The meeting started early all the other executive CEO's have been asking for you!
Cindy
Oh dammit! When did they reschedule?
Jason
I don't know they just came early and look, they're about to begin without you, drive as fast as you can!!!!
Cindy
Oh my gosh! I'm on my way, can you just stall for a bit?
Jason
Sure I'll try, anything for you..
She hangs up. Ugh how could she be late for such an important conference? She felt like beating herself up for this! At this point she was speeding away and almost ran over a guy!
Cindy
What the **** is wrong with me today?
She got out of her car and helped him up.

Well, you sure look like you're in a hurry.
The stranger had this comforting country accent. Cindy couldn't help but feel sorry for what she did to him.
Cindy
I'm sooo sorry! There's a hospital nearby, I can take you.
Flash
Nah, it's just a scratch but just keep your eyes open on the road next time before speedin'.

Never been so darn sure ever in my life. Besides, it looks like you've got a place to get to.
Suddenly Cindy realizes that she was awfully late for the meeting and apologized to the stranger and speeds off once again.

That woman is a hell of a thing. Wonder if I'll ever see her again.
Cindy had never been so messed up, but things just kept getting worse for some reason. She reached the parking lot and practically sprinted towards the conference room.
All eyes narrowed at her.
Cindy
I'm sorry for holding up everyone.
Jason
The meeting just got over.
Oh great, Cindy thought. This day just couldn't get worse right?
Bumpy day
Cindy
ughhh how could I be so late for such an important meeting? Honestly speaking, I shouldn't have waited and spoken to that stranger for so long.
Cindy couldn't help but realize that she kinda had a small crush on the stranger and kept denying it. Part of her wanted to bump into him again someday.
Jason
Well, if it's any consolation, atleast you showed up before they left. 😅
Cindy
Haha very funny, Jason. I really don't know why they'd reschedule without letting me know.
Cindy
I mean the least they could do was inform my assistant!
Jason
Ohh.. about that um I kinda had a fling with your assistant 😬
Cindy wasn't surprised but she wasn't exactly sure where this was going. Jason had been her friend since they were kids, she was aware of the effect he had on women.
Jason
Well, we were in bed and she got a call and I may have persuaded her to leave the call and you know get back to whatever we were doing 👉👈
Cindy
Wow, and you couldn't have mentioned this to me before could you?
Jason
Hey, I had no clue that that call would be so important and after that she just panicked and well she tried calling them back but they wouldn't pick up her calls :(
Cindy
Nevermind, I just need a break right now. I don't wanna think about those arrogant CEO's.
Jason
Well, I know just the place. You up for a beer?
Cindy
Are you actually suggesting that we go get some booze and day drink at Lux?
Jason
Ofc I am. It'll help to get your mind off of things.
Cindy
Can't argue with that. Ok I'll meet you outside.
Jason didn't want to acknowledge it but his heart kept beating with every word that Cindy said. It's always behaved that way since he became friends with her. He just never wanted to mess things up between them.
Cindy
Wow, it's quite a beautiful day for things to get so messed up.
The leaves on the trees seemed to hug each other and seemed greener and lusher than usual. Cindy kept walking around aimlessly waiting for Jason when all of a sudden, Bump.

She rushes off, trying her best to cover up her uncontrollable blushing.

It was too late, well maybe fate shall decide if they do meet again.

Ugh this is so not cool Cindy, you're 2 hours late!

Oh no you can't blame this one on me. You had plenty of chances of getting his number.
