There was a lady named Zaine Quinn Montenegro who is a successful business woman who was also married to a successful business man named Clarkson Kent Smith. They lived a harmonious life, their love and respect for one another was deep. They are envied by many who were also in the business industry phrases like " I would be the luckiest woman if I were to find a love like you Quinn" or like " My man Clark if your wife Quinn would become my wife I would never let anyone have a chance to take her away from me, you should cherish her". As time passes Clark and Quinn have been wanting to have a child so they tried but to no avail.

" Quinn it's ok we can still try, no hurry" Clark said as he saw her wife holding a negative pregnancy test tube on her hand.

" But Clark we have tried many times" Quinn said as tears streamed down on her cheeks. Every time she would test herself but always in dismay.

She has always wanted to have a child of her own, she's envious of her friends who already have a child. She also wants someone to call her " mommy". Her friends were envious of their harmonious life but they also have problems of their own.

" Shhh " Clark tried to calm her down. " We'll definitely have our little ones soon, so calm down okay? Mm?". He added.

After a brief talk with Clark Quinn finally calmed down and later fell asleep.

A few days later Quinn was getting ready for a business meeting that would last for a week. After getting ready she said her goodbyes to Clark.

" Clark I'll be away for a week because of a business meeting held on Country C " She said as she approached Clark to kiss her goodbye but to her surprise Clark seemed to avoid it.

" Mm, just call me when you arrive there" He said while busy trying something on his phone.

" I will " Quinn said, and she again attempted to kiss her husband as they both would not be meeting for a week due to work. But then to her dismay Clark still avoided it. "Then I should go now take care of yourself " She added to hide the disappointment in her heart.

As she drove to the airport she could not help but felt suspicious of her husband, she felt as though her husband's action was devioded of love. But she just brushed it off as she loved her husband dearly and respected him.

'He must be quite tired because of work' She though to herself.

After driving for 30 minutes she finally arrived at the airport and luckily she arrived on time.

" Phew" She sighed softly and said " luckily I still made it, damn traffic jam" After passing through a checkpoint she then boarded her flight.

After an hour or so her flight landed on Country C and she then booked a hotel to stay in as it was getting dark because of the time difference between countries. Having booked a hotel room Quinn took a hot shower and proceeded to order light food for her empty stomach. She decided to take a quick nap after she called her husband.

" Have you arrived safely?" Clark asked as soon as Quinn's call got through.

" Yeah it was almost night time when I arrived here" She said while yawning.

Having saw that Clark asked " Are you sleepy? You should eat first before you sleep I'm sure you haven't eaten anything yet since you boarded your flight " Clark said with a hint of worries in his voice.

As Quinn heard those words her doubts and suspicions about her husband disappeared and a sweet smile drew from her face " I have already eaten and would go to bed after our call " she said and then yawned again.

" You should probably sleep now Quinn, I know you're tired from your flight " Clark said " also take care of yourself there eat on time and sleep as soon as the meetings are done, okay?" He added.

" Oum, you should also take care of yourself there and don't let work wear you out, love you" Quinn said revealing a smile to the one she loved dearly.

" Love you too" Clark said while also smiling at his wife.

After the talk Quinn end the call, dried her hair and got on the bed to sleep. A week past like that and Quinn's business meeting had also come to an end, she boarded a flight back to Country A to meet her husband. After landing on Country A her eyes swept through the crowd but to her dismay her husband was nowhere to be seen. She took a taxi to her house with a disappointed look on her face, having not seen her husband for a week long she wanted to see him as soon as she landed. As she got home she saw that there house's lights were off she thought

' Maybe my husband prepared a surprise for me'

Having thought that she walked to the door with a smile on her face, but then again she was disappointed there was no one inside, disappointment after disappointment.

After 3 days her husband was still nowhere to be seen, on the night of the fourth day her husband came back, looking quite drunk.

" Clark" she called him.

" Quinn? When did you came back?" He asked, feeling dizzy.

" I was away for a business trip for 2 days and since my friend Lylia came back we had drinks with our friends" He said looking very drunk and walked to the sofa and collapsed there.

Even with great disappointment and her doubts for her husband, she still was a good wife, she cooked for him and took care of him. Days passed by, her husband would always come late at night with the smell of alcohol and a perfume of another woman.

Quinn became more and more suspicious of Clark, her disappointment on her husband grew so did her depression.

Until one day after her work, when her husband was taking a shower in the morning she couldn't help but check his phone, she felt guilty for checking it without her permission but her suspicion outweighed her conscience. After she opened Clark's phone she couldn't believe what she saw, her husband was cheating on her with his best friend Lylia. As she dropped the phone her husband also came out of the shower.

" Clark how could you do this to me" she asked with a trembling voice, hot tears streamed down her cheeks.

" Quinn..... I can explain" he said in a hurry.

" Babe Clark why is it so noisy outside" a crisp voice sounded and the door to their bedroom was opened.

" Explain!!! Look" she pointed at the girl who just came out of the bedroom " What is there to explain when the evidence is right in front of my eyes. You jerk I loved you, trusted you, and respected you hic* how could you do this to me" she said tears continued to stream down her cheeks, voice trembling.

Quinn who was blind by her anger and rage for being betrayed by her husband, attacked Lylia.

" You *****, how dare you steal my man!!! How dare you, you little homewrecker!!!!" Quinn yelled as she slapped and grabbed her hair.

" Ouch, it hurts you witch" Lylia cried and also began pulling Quinn's hair.

The two wrestled around yelling and cursing one another. Clark was stunned, seeing her docile wife fight it out with Lylia, having been stunned for a second he immediately pulled the two but accidentally pushed Quinn hard while clutching Lylia gently.

" Lia are you ok? Are you hurt anywhere?" Clark asked Lylia while gently checking her out for any visible injury

" Babe I'm fine, no worries " She said while huffing because of the earlier mess.

" You said your fine but we still should go to the hospital to get you checked" Clark added totally ignoring Quinn.

While this seen unfolded in front of her eyes, Quinn was totally consumed by her emotions.

" Clark you ... you pushed me while you protected her, you asked her if she's alright, why?!! Is she so important to you than me, your wife???!!! Huh??!!!" Quinn blurted out, shouting to the two of them.

" Quinn..... I'm sorry " Clark said to her. " I..... I got Lia pregnant, she's carrying my child ". He added, visible guilt was plastered on his face.

" Mmgmmm". Quinn suddenly felt nauseous. " Clark how could you?!! I gave you everything of mine, I never once betrayed you, how ..... could you do this to me?" Quinn said with great difficulty, gasping for air. " Is it because I couldn't give you a child that you did this to me?..." She added weakly.

" I'm sorry Quinn, you know that I have always been wanting to have a child, I have always wanted to be a father, but—....."

" But because I couldn't conceive??" Quinn cut him off. " Clark you said we could always try, that there's no need to hurry..." Quinn was on the verge of collapsing.

Quinn looked at the two of them with contempt in her eyes, the man she thought would always love her betrayed her and the person she trusted her husband to also betrayed her, swirl of emotions flood Quinn and because of her pre-existing health condition she collapsed. Before her head hit the hard tile floor of their house someone caught it and lifted her up before Clark could react.

" Who are you?! How dare you barged in our house?!" Clark shouted at the man who lifted her wife.

" Me? I'm Kalix Akihiro, Quinn's childhood sweetheart" Kalix replied " I have loved Quinn since we were still children, pity she chooses a jerk over me" He looked at Quinn with love in his eyes and left the two adulterers stunned there.

Kalix took Quinn to the hospital and had her examined. After a while Quinn woke up and felt a slight headache. And Kalix help her up and feed her a medicine.

" Here take this " Kalix said and gently feed her the medicine and give her a water. " How do you feel?"

Kalix asked.

" I'm fine but when did you arrive?and what did the doctors told you?". Quinn asked weakly.

" I just arrived and saw you almost hit your head on the floor so I took you here." Kalix replied. " And the doctors told me that because of your pre-existing health condition you collapsed also they told me that you need to take care of yourself as to not affect the baby inside your womb."

" You.... mean I'm pregnant..??" Quinn said, the shock was visible on her face.

" Yep you are so you should take care of yourself, you need to be strong for your child". He replied.

Quinn couldn't believe it, she was pregnant, she was pregnant!!. Tears once again streamed down on her cheeks.

" I will" she said. " I will raise this child myself, I will make it so that he doesn't need that jerk of a father." She added.

" I will help you raise him." Kalix said that surprised Quinn.

" Kalix .... you"

" Quinn I have always loved you, would you give me a chance?" Kalix said and looked straight in her eyes.

" I...—"

" It's ok you don't need to answer me right away" Kalix replied.

After a few months Quinn finally gave Kalix a chance and she did not regret it, he took care of her and loved her dearly.

" Quinn how are you feeling?" Kalix asked as he opened the door to the balcony where Quinn sat looking at the lovely sunset by the sea.

" I'm fine but she really kicked hard " Quinn replied while looking at her belly lovingly. She would give birth in a matter of two weeks.

" You should go inside now, the cold wind would be harmful to your health" Kalix said and helped Quinn stand up, hold her and give her a gentle kiss on her forehead.

' I will be a good father and a husband to you, I will take care of the both of you to the best of my ability ' Kalix though to himself as he kissed Quinn on the forehead and then lead her inside.
