"Oh God, Elena, can you leave that subject alone?! Stepdaughter, real daughter - who cares! Your father will be there too. Do not forget that Jason's father is a very powerful minister.

A black limousine drove up to the door of the hotel. An a.d.u.l.t man with oriental face features came out of the car and a young girl, age about twenty, followed him.

"Oh, my friend Chen! What a blast from the past!" A man opened his arms, joyfully greeting his old friend.

"John!! Glad to see you! Happy birthday to your son. Jason is already a full-fledged heir; it's time to find a good bride for him,"
Mr. Lee teased the birthday boy's father a little.
John Barton

Slightly bowing to the men, Elena turned and headed for the hall.

The girl entered the hall.
Several of the men standing nearby stood in a daze. Elena, without giving much attention to it, silently passed by and headed towards Corey.
Corey
Just look at her!! Here is a cutie pie! Yowza! That is a real gift!! Come to me, dear, the hugs of tonight's number 1 guy are waiting for you!"
As soon as the young man, with his arms outstretched, walked towards Elena for a strong hug, he was immediately blocked by Corey,
Corey
"Jason! Can you show some modesty at least for today?! You seem to have become older for one year but it looks like you lost quite a lot of your brain cells."
Elena Lee
Cory, relax. Today is his birthday, so his level of 'butterheadness' is higher than usual. Jason, happy birthday! Catch your gift."
The girl touched the cheek of the birthday boy with her lips, leaving a light imprint of lipstick on his face.
Jason

Elena has not seen Corey so excited for a long time. Apparently, this guy was really worth the attention.
She turned her eyes, following Corey's, and froze.
The heart missed the beat. It seemed, for a moment, a noisy hall filled with deathly silence.
Ahead, on the other side of the room, was a man. The man she never expected to meet.
It was Him. The man from her dream.

Corey's eyes were shining, fascinated by his image.
Corey
"Honey, this is a head shot. This is love at first sight! Tell me, isn't he a dream boat?! Hello, Elena? Are you listening to me at all?"
Elena Lee
"Mm..." Elena replied, as if not even hearing Corey's question. "Jason, listen, who is that man standing next to this Rick guy?"
Jason
"Which one exactly?"
Elena Lee
"That one with black hair."
Jason
"Hmmm... Let me think about what his name is... Damn, my father always invites tons of people, and then I have to memorize them all to not look like an idiot..."
Elena Lee
"Jason!" Elena stared at the young man, hinting to him directly that he'd better start thinking faster.
Jason

Corey's attention was entirely focused on Rick.
Rick
"And what do the young ladies do in their free time besides shopping?" Rick winked playfully, which made Corey shine even more.
Corey
"Oh please, Mr. Stein! Elena and I are very responsible and busy girls. Studying at the Presidential Academy is no joke. Elena spends all the time in the library, helping the professor with the search for materials."
Rick
"Oh my! I did not expect that modern girls may be interested in history and science. And which area caught your attention, Miss Lee?"
Elena Lee
"In fact, nothing special, Mr. Stein. I study works on the history of management", answered Elena, so as not to seem impolite.
Rick
"Oh really? What an interesting coincidence! David is writing his thesis on some historical subject. Aren't you, David?"
David Anderson

"Oh, right! Rick, what would I do without you! A couple of minutes and you will find out!"
After these words, the birthday boy rushed to the stage behind the microphone.
Corey
"Elena, what do you think this man with a sick imagination came up with this time?"
Elena Lee

Both girls waited cautiously for what was about to happen.
