"*It seems as if only moments ago I was in school, watching all of my classmates laugh and dance in our classes year end party. Yet here I am, awake on this uncomfortable bed at three AM"

Jared sighed as he swiped his fingers on the screen of his phone*.

Jared Toren, a 16 year old teen in Highschool. He had an average height, around 5'6. He was skinny with green eyes and rugged black hair that reached down to the top of his shoulders. Life has been pretty rough with him. Since he was a child, his parents paid him no attention. They were "Too busy" to show even the slightest care or acknowledgement towards him. No matter how hard he worked, how high his grades were. Nothing seemed to turn their heads towards him. By the time he reached Highschool, he had given up on trying to reach out to them and gave up on almost everything.

Because he was so focused on trying to catch their attention, his social skills suffered greatly. He was awkward when talking with others and couldn't hold a conversation for more than a minute. Everyone called him a loner, an outcast, a weirdo. To everyone, he was the weird creepy kid who looked like sleep was a myth. Whenever he would try to help people, they all would back away from him as if he were trying to hurt them, despite his good intentions.

*Jared set his phone aside, closing his eyes slowly as he yawned.

"Hopefully, things will change..."

Just as Jared began to fall asleep, far off, in a void empty and dark. A woman with a slender figure could be seen sitting on her throne. She smiled as she peered at an orb in her hand, which gave her a view of Jared as he slept*.

"I'm not done with you yet my sweet... Your life, and my pleasure, is just about to begin"

*Jared rubbed his eyes as he sluggishly got up from bed. He reached over for his phone and checked the time. The clock on his phone read one in the afternoon. Jared paused for a bit before scrambling to his feet and heading to his closet. He had plans to visit his local hobby store as they had an event happening for a game he played on his phone a lot. After getting dressed, Jared ran to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

Faster than he ever ran before, he dashed down to the kitchen, without a word to his parents, he grabbed an apple from the fruit basket and rushed out the door.

While running towards the store, Jared was constantly checking his phone for updates on the event, keeping check of the time as well. Without noticing, he ended up crashing into a girl from his school.

As Jared rubbed his arm. He picked up his phone and noticed the girl on the ground*

"I'm so s-sorry! Please forgive me" *Jared stuttered as he bowed his head. He reached out his hand as to help her up.

With terrified eyes, the girl slapped his hand away and got up on her own*.

"Watch where you're going you freak!"

As she ran away, Jared stood there, watching her with the same dull expression that his face makes, the only expression his face knows how to make.

Finally, after 3 more minutes of walking, Jared arrived at the shop. As he walked inside, he noticed how packed the shop was. There were so many people standing around, talking and laughing. What was usually a quiet place, became as loud as the school cafeteria just because of an event.

Despite not liking crowds, Jared was determined to stay. This game was the only thing that mattered to him in life. At the age of 13, he had been diagnosed with depression. He was put on anti-depressants but for the past few weeks he has refused to take them. The game had given him all he had ever wanted in life. Praise and recognition. To feel special and important.

Whenever he completed a mission and the game congratulated him, he felt like someone had finally cared about him, that his presence was finally needed by someone. 15 minutes of his time gave him something that he could never get with the 16 years of his life that he spent, trying to please his parents. This game, was the only thing that could make him happy.

*As Jared made his way through the crowd, trying his best to say "excuse me" or "passing through", he was pushed around and shoved. People telling him to watch it and to keep his hands to himself.

Jared sighed as he turned around, seems he would have to stay content being in the back. As he walked back to where he originally was, a voice called out to him*.

"Is that Jared Eye Bags? Out of his house during summer break?"

Jared stopped in his tracks, his eyes glued to the ground.

"Hey, I'm talking to you Eye Bags, didn't your parents tell you to look people in the eye when they speak to you? Or maybe you don't have any, that's why they never attended your parent teacher conferences"

*Jared gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. He wanted to lash out at them but what would he say? It's not like he knew anything about them. He had nothing to insult anyone, simply because he knew nothing at all.

The group of friends around the other guy all laughed as they pointed at Jared*.

"Look at him, I bet he's still asleep and probably couldn't hear you, go wake him up"

One of the kids approached Jared from the back and pushed him to the ground.

"Come on, wake up Eye Bags!" *they teased as they laughed at him on the floor.

Another one of the kids picked up Jared's phone and opened it as he reached out for it*.

"P-please, give me my phone back please!" *he stammered.

The group laughed at him as they opened his phone*.

"And here I thought Eye Bags does nothing at home. He plays Saber Saga as well!" one of them said.

"Yeah but look at how low leveled he is, and his items are so trash. He doesn't even have an SR item yet!" *one of them said while laughing.

Once more, Jared could only look down at the floor. At a loss for words, his mouth hung open, as if to shout, to scream, to yell in anger. But nothing came out.

The boy holding Jared's phone approached him, looking down upon Jared as he loomed over him*.

"My girlfriend told me that last week, you approached her with one of your creepy looks and scared her" he smirked.

"S-she was crying, I was just trying to-" The boy cut Jared off with a kick to his face before grabbing his hair.

"It's time you learned your place Eye Bags" *The boy dragged Jared out of the shop, the rest of the group followed behind, taking pictures and videos of him.

Outside of the shop, the boy kicked Jared in the face again. Jared grunted as he covered his face with his hand twitching from fright*.

The boy sneered "No one cares about you Eye Bags. No one wants you around them, especially when all you do is look at them with that disgusting face" once more he kicked at Jared.

"Trying to help my girlfriend? What help could you ever be to anyone! You're clueless as hell, no one would ever seek help from the likes of you" The boy kicked Jared's stomach.

"And just like everyone else, this game, doesn't even need you, nor will it ever care about you. Just stay alone away from everyone like you always do" *he spat as he threw Jared's phone onto the ground, breaking it.

With that, the boys left him and walked back into the shop. Still on the ground, twitching, he moved his hands away to see the broken phone on the pavement. Tears filled his eyes as he scooped them up. Slowly, Jared stood up, and began to walk home.

Maniac laughter filled the void as the woman on the throne slammed her fists uncontrollably onto the arm rests of the throne*.

"Oh my precious toy!" she howled

"You're going to please me so well, your new life shall begin!"

*Before heading home, Jared stopped by the park near his house. For a few hours, he sat there motionless, staring at the sky as it changed its colors from a bright blue to a warm yet uninviting orange.

As he stood at the doorway to his home. He reached for the doorknob and opened it. As he twisted the knob and pushed the door open. He saw out of the corner of his eye, his dad, glaring at him from the foot of the stairs*.

His father yelled as he approached Jared "I have been calling you for hours now! You leave this house without saying where you are going and then you just refuse to answer my phone calls"

Before Jared could speak, his dad smacked him across the face, causing him to fall to the floor.

"Look at how dirty you are, you're so clumsy you probably tripped over nothing!" *Jared's broken phone fell out of his pocket.

His dad noticed the phone fall out of Jared's pocket*.

"You broke your phone? You're irresponsible and clumsy. Coming home late because you broke the phone that I paid for with MY money" his dad turned around and walked away.

"Get out of my sight, you're an eyesore"

Jared picked up the pieces of the phone that fell put of his pocket and with trembling steps, made his way up the stairs.

*After changing out of his clothes, Jared stood infront of the drawer next to his bed. He pulled open the first drawer and reached in to look for something.

When he had found what he was looking for, he pulled out a pre-made noose. Something he had made before he found the game he loved, Saber Saga.

"Maybe I'm not meant to feel love while I live. But I know for sure, that they'll care, no, someone will care, when I'm no longer breathing in this world"

The more he thought, the more he couldn't resist the tears in his eyes. He looked around his room as he stood on his stool, tying the rope around one of the blades of the ceiling fan. He saw the pill bottles on his nightstand, no photoframes of anyone anywhere. No posters, or anything that represented a happy or joyful memory. It was like a hospital room, except it was just his own room, void of anything, lacking character and representation.

All these years he spent wasting his time to the point where he lost his opportunity to even have what could be considered a childhood.

As he tightened the noose around his neck, he looked around his room once more before kicking the stool. Gasping for air, he squirmed around clawing at the rope around his neck, kicking the air as his vision started to blur. His movement began to still quickly as his hands dropped down to his sides. His eyes began to close as he thought of nothing, he had no final thoughts, for he didn't think he was worth anything to think of anything and anyone.

The woman licked her lips as she stood up from her throne. She backed off into the shadows, leaving only her orb to be seen in the void*.

Chapter 2: The Sunshine Before The Sunset

Alone, in the dark void, Jared stood. His eyes were closed as if he were sleeping.

Without a moments notice, Jared's eyes shot open and his hands immediately rushed to his neck, grabbing and feeling it. He gasped for air, hyperventilating as he fell to his knees.

Jared pondered to himself "Where... Am I?"

He turned his head around, trying to make out where he was

"Am I... Is this... Am I dead?"

Close by, an orb of light could be seen, it's faint glow shining brightly through the darkness.

*Jared approached the orb and peered into it. He saw his lifeless body, hanging from the ceiling fan. The orb then showed another scene to Jared. His parents were standing outside in what appeared to be a cemetary. They seemed to be in a rush as Jared's father kept checking his wrist watch as the pastor spoke, his mother looking away from his coffin. After a minute or so, his parents turned away and left, it seemed as though the pastor hadn't even finished.

Jared turned away from the orb, with tears in his eyes, once again, he felt as though his efforts had been in vain. Even with his death, it seems he couldn't get his own parents to care about him, much less shed a tear for him.

Far off into the void, the woman from the throne was watching Jared, biting her lips as she saw the tears in his eyes. Her face was burning red and her breath became very hot. She was trying desperately to make her presence unknown to Jared.

Jared slowly layed down on his back, staring into the emptiness above him. He had no care anymore about what he had just seen. After all, wasn't he used to it? He shouldn't have expected anything more from his parents. He was wrong to have gotten his hopes up. It only hurts more when you give yourself false hope.

He assured himself that it'd be better to face and accept things the way they are, rather than sticking to fruitless wishing and praying. After all, you may wish all you want, but it won't happen if you don't do something about it*.

Jared whispered to himself

"If I had another chance at life, I swear... I'd be more... More resolved... More confident. That I can do things right"

With that, Jared's vision slowly began to fade *as if he were going back into a deep sleep. The cold and stale air of the void blanketed him as he closed his eyes, wrapping his arms around himself to shield him from the unwelcoming void.

The woman whispered to herself* "Oh my sweet, I'll let you have a treat for now, lets see how you enjoy your new life. You are now to be known as... Kireru"

*With that, the woman snapped her fingers causing Jared to vanish instantly from the void.

It was soft, warm and cozy. It felt like nothing he had ever experienced before. Before his eyes he saw warm lights glowing around him. It was embracing him as if comforting him from the icy feel of the void he was just in. He heard knocking in the distance, it seemed to be calling him. Calling him to open his eyes and wake up to reality once more. As the knocking continued, Jared opened his eyes, slowly with such hesitation as to feel the warmth even just a second longer.

As Jared opened his eyes, he squinted as the sun blessed his face with its presence. He looked around the room he was in. It looked much more different from his own room. There were posters on the wall filled with fictional things such as Mechas and spacecraft as well as people from fantasy worlds like wizards and warlocks. Jared rubbed his eyes in confusion, was this a dream? Was this the afterlife? Was his entire life just a bad nightmare that lasted just a bit too long?

He looked to his nightstand and saw a photoframe sitting on top of it. Jared reached out to grab it and as he examined the photo, he saw himself, jumping for joy along with two other adults who looked similar to his parents. They were all smiling, happily, as if they were the happiest people on earth.

The door to the room slowly opened. Jared turned his attention to the door and there he saw, hugging the wall as she peeked into the room, was the woman from the picture*.

She spoke softly "Oh, Kireru, you're awake. I kept coming up here knocking to check up on you. We're waiting for you to join us for breakfast honey"

"Honey?" he thought to himself. The word itself was unknown to him. Of course he knew of the food known as honey, but as for the name? It was a name he had never heard. He looked around as if to check if there were another in the room she was referring to

"M-me? But, I'm not Ki-"

"Of course you silly! Your father and I are waiting for you. We made your favorite, bacon and eggs. Come on, lets go eat" *she interrupted as she walked away from the door.

At this point, Jared was certain he was dreaming. He stood up and began to jump around and pinch himself. He couldn't believe it. He was actually alive, and being treated with care.

Jared pondered to himself "But how am I still alive... I hanged myself and even saw my own funeral. Yet here I am... In a warm bed, with a woman who calls me... Kireru? And they think I'm their son?"

Jared looked at the photograph once more, it really was him in that photo. All of this led Jared to a certain conclusion. He was in another universe. Either he took over an alternate version of himself, or, someone or something placed him in a world where in a short amount of time, led him to this point in this life. Slowly, he began to accept his situation, I mean, he had nothing to lose, and from the looks of it, he was getting a lot of things that he's always wanted in life, but never had.

With this in mind, Jared went outside of his room and down the stairs to the dinnertable. The entire house looked different. It was more vibrant and colorful and had more character to it.

He thought to himself "I could get used to this kind of life... Of course, as Kireru..."

He would have to become more accustomed to the new name he had. In his heart he knew he was Jared, but if in this world he was Kireru, it would be the name he would have to acknowledge himself as if he were to be accustomed to living here.

As he approached the dinnertable, he was met with a smile from the man from the photograph*.

"Goodmorning Kireru!" he spoke with a booming voice

The man pulled a chair and patted the seat, beckoning Jared to sit there. Jared slowly approached the chair and sat down. He looked at the man and then the woman who brought plates to the table.

Jared looked down at his plate and saw that the eggs and bacon formed a smiley face. He looked up again at the man and woman and tried to smile back. It wasn't something he could do naturally so of course, it looked very awkward.

The man chuckled as he began to eat "Better eat quickly son, Mina said she'd drop by in the afternoon. You'd best eat up and get dressed"

*Jared nodded and began eating his food. The woman and the man exchanged small talk about the weather and the news as they ate. This was surely something he never experienced before, his family was quiet when they ate, if ever they ate together at all. His mom didn't bother talking to his father, vice versa.

But now, his new mom and his new father were talkative. They were very compassionate as well by the looks of it. He didn't no how or what brought him here but, secretly, in the back of his head. He continued to thank whatever mystical force blessed him*.

After Jared had finished eating, he stood up and brought his plate to the kitchen sink where his mother smiled at him. He remembered his father saying that a person named Mina was going to visit and that he should get prepared. He went back up to his room and looked through his closet. He picked out a black hoodie and threw it on over his head. He grabbed the darkest pair of jeans he could find and put them on as well. *After dressing up, he went downstairs to the shoe rack he spotted next to the front door and put on a pair of dark sneakers. As he put on the shoes, someone began to knock on the front door.

From the door came the voice of a girl. The voice was very sweet and pleasant to the ears*.

"Kireru! Are you there? Sorry I came early, I'm just so excited for today that I just really couldn't wait to see you"

Jared approached the door and opened it slowly, peeking out at the girl. She had long wavy dark blue hair that barely reached the lower half of her back. She was almost as tall as Jared, *wearing an oversized blue jacket and a black skirt that went down to her knees. Her eyes were a golden shade of yellow that seemed to glimmer the longer he stared into them.

Mina tilted her head to the side, looking through the small space between the door and into Jared's eyes. She smiled as she pushed the door open and pulled Jared into a hug*.

With soft spoken words she whispered "I missed you Kireru, so much"

*Jared's face blushed bright red as she buried her face into his jacket. Hesitantly, he wrapped his arms around her, patting her back.

From behind him, his mother watched as the two shared their hug* "These two love birds are so adorable, you two will start a fine family"

Jared's face got even redder, he opened his mouth to speak but before he could even form words, Mina giggled "See, even your mom agrees Kireru, we do make a great couple"

*So many alarms were popping off in Jared's head. Girlfriend? Him? He has a girlfriend? Especially one as cute and adorable as her? He must've really been blessed by a god to have been given this much in life. Curiosity began to spark within him aswell. What is she like? What are the things she really likes? All these questions bombarded his head simultaneously until he centered out what it really is. Is this what it means to want to know somebody? To really socialize? This could be his chance to finally break his shell and learn to talk with others rather than staying secluded.

Mina tugged at Jared's arm as she pointed to the door* "Shall we get going my love?"

Jared nodded shyly as she pulled him along with her out the door. She waved at Jared's mom who smiled as she closed the door behind them.

*For the entirety of the day, Mina brought Jared all around town. They had lunch together at a ramen bar, ice cream as they walked through a park, checking out games and other stuff at a hobby shop and looking at cute pets at a pet store. Hours had passed and it was getting late. The sun began to set and for the first time, the warm orange color of the sky wasn't un-inviting to Jared.

As both Jared and Mina neared Jared's house, she looked him in the eyes* "Kireru... I had a wonderful time today. I know you were planning to spend summer grinding on that mech game you love, but I really appreciate the time you gave me"

"I... I'm glad that I... That I-I spent today with you Mina..."

"I love you, Kireru" she gushed as she pulled Jared into a kiss. A moment which felt like eternity for Jared passed and both parties pulled away from the kiss.

Mina giggled "I'll stop by tomorrow, good night Kireru, I love you" she waved and turned around, walking in the other direction

"I love you too... Mina" Jared waved as he approached the front door of his house. As he reached for the knob, Jared was hit with flashbacks to his suicide. Visions flew by his mind of his dad hitting him and glaring at him from the stairs as he entered the house. Jared grabbed the door knob, his hands shaking in fear as he twisted it open and pushed the door. As he peeked in, there was no angry father by the stairs, just his imagination tricking him. He sighed in relief as he entered the house, closing the door behind him.

"Mom, dad, I'm home!" *he shouted as he took off his shoes. He headed upstairs to his room where he got his clothes and headed to where the bathroom was. He entered the bathroom, making sure to lock the door before beginning to undress. He turned the shower on making sure the water was hot, but not too hot.

As he showered, his mom knocked on the door* "Kireru, if you're hungry, there's food downstairs. I hope your date went well honey" with that his mom walked away from the bathroom door. Jared smiled to himself as he finished washing his hair. He wasn't hungry but he did appreciate that she cared enough to let him *know. Jared dried himself off with a towel, putting on his clothes for sleeping before exiting the bathroom and heading to his room.

As Jared prepared for bed, doing some nightly reflections, the woman from the void watched him from her orb. With such a cold stare full of lust and perverse desires, she licked her lips before getting off her throne*.

Mistress Avela, the goddess of deceit, betrayal, selfishness, suffering and lust. She was known to interfere with mortal affairs for her own leisure and entertainment. Causing havoc and suffering in her wake, unlike gods who use their power to cause direct chaos, Avela causes conflict indirectly by playing with the heartstrings of mortals breaking them down into nothing but hollow husks of their former selves. Laying out betrayals and suffering for those she chooses, she molds them into tools of chaos from the start of their unlucky lives.

Unlike other powerful gods like her, she does not have a dedicated religion dedicated to her. Those who worship and pray to her usually reside in small cults within the underground of society, or are people who wish to instill suffering and bad luck unto others. In other words, her influence is wide spread rather than concentrated to one place. Her short golden blonde hair glimmered through the darkness along with her eyes which were also a glimmering shade of golden yellow. Her bangs covered up her left eye, leaving the right eye to be exposed. She wore an exposing outfit that was skin tight. It showed off her stomach, thighs and a majority of her breasts, but leaving the nipples hidden.

From the start, Jared's fate had already been sealed. He was destined to be a tool for Avela, without him even knowing.

Avela smiled as she walked away from her orb "Oh Kireru... I can't wait to see what destruction you lay unto this world. Show me the true power of your rage and pain"

Despite giving Jared a gift of everything that he could ever want. His hearts desire, she really was just fattening the cow, to make it even more desirable and delicious. After all, it's better to grow something patiently than to let it blow up and die short now.

Chapter 3: The Sunset Brings Forth The Dark

A dream was it? It seemed as though this life was a dream. It was too good to be real and yet it was. Before the unconscious mind could ponder anymore about this, Jared woke up. He looked around his room, expecting to find himself in the dull room he once called his. However, the room was still the same with posters on the walls and cabinets. A sigh of relief left Jared's mouth as he got out of bed. He checked the clock above his door which read 9:30am. For summer break, that's really early in the morning for him to be awake.

Heading out of his room and down the stairs, Jared could smell the wonderful aroma of food coming from the kitchen, it seems breakfast was almost ready, calling him to come sit at the dinner table. Jared sat at the dinner table, his father, reading the daily newspaper next to him*.

"Good morning Kireru, up and early eh?" his dad laughed

"Good morning.. Dad. Hope you slept well?"

Jared could feel the awkwardness within him taking effect. What could he possibly talk about with his dad. He never once had a chance to talk to his parents about anything, especially small talk. Before Jared could speak, his mother placed down plates on the table, the plates having french toast neatly placed on them.

"Breakfast is served!" she bubbled. As they began to eat, Jared's dad looked at him and as if he were testing him, asked

"So Kireru, how was your date with Mina yesterday?"

Jared blushed as he looked at the french toast on his plate. With a soft voice he spoke

"It was good.. We didn't do much other than.. Well, eat lunch together and walk around ya know.." his dad smiled upon hearing this and continued to eat

"I see, glad to hear son"

The family continued to eat in silence before it was broken by Jared's mom who was cleaning up her plate

"Kireru, can you be a dear and head to the groccery for me? I'll give you a list of things we need" *Jared slowly nodded as he finished up his breakfast. As he put the plate in the sink, his mom handed him a groccery list accompanied with a warm smile. He of course, returned the smile before heading upstairs to get ready. Looks like today was gonna be a productive day for him. He was hoping to maybe play some of the video games that this other world had, hoping that they would be better than the games he played in his world. But nonetheless, he still was happy to do anything in this world. Everything was a new experience to him, and like a curious child at a toy store, he wanted to experience everything.

After getting dressed and heading out the door. Jared walked around, looking for the groccery store. He wasn't from this world so he wouldn't know where it was without asking. Yet his shyness got the best of him, making him unable to ask for* directions. As Jared walked around aimlessly, he got smiles from the people around him, some even called out his name, greeting him good morning. Jared felt nervous yet happy at the same time. He was never noticed this much by people, especially in a positive way. Everyone usually noticed him when they wanted to make fun of him, never to acknowledge him.

A man approached Jared, he seemed to be out of breath from running.

"Kireru..." the man huffed "There you are..."

Jared looked at the man worried and curious, extending his hand, but not touching him

"Are you alright, what h-happened?"

The man took a couple of moments to regain his breath before answering

"Nothing happened, I just came to ask if you could stop by sometime, the kids really enjoyed playing with you at the park last week"

Jared rubbed his head, flustered with the knowledge that he was able to interact with children

"R-really? You think so..? I guess I can stop by sometime later" *The man smiled and waved before heading the other direction. As Jared walked away as well, he suddenly remembered he needed to know where the groccery was, but as he turned around, the man was already gone.

As Jared walked around, he came to the conclusion that he must be known throughout the town by everyone as someone friendly and helpful. That was the vibe he was getting from the people. If that was the case, it should be safe then to ask people for directions to the groccery with no problems at all*.

Jared slowly approached an old man who was sitting on a bench, watching the birds as they flew above him, chirping happily.

"U-um... Excuse me sir... Do you know where I can find the groccery?" The old man looked at Jared and smiled

"Of course Kireru, I guess even the young can be forgetful" the man pointed to his left.

"Down that road, take the first right and you'll find the grocery"

Jared politely nodded and went on his way to the groccery. He seemed surprised that the old man knew him, but then again this town wasn't very big, so being well known wouldn't be such a big deal.

As Jared entered the groccery, he turned his head, examining the place as he walked in. He saw the electric appliance aisle where TVs were displayed, all of them set to the news channel.

"Reports show that the Alveste Empire has no intent of allowing the Peoples Republic of Earth to continue pushing into its borders. Deployment of the Walker Corps to the Alveste Empire Borders was done to ensure that the PRE do not breach. More about this from Commander Jiugo"

The camera shifts over to a man in black camouflage fatigues

"The Empire wishes to enforce its borders and citizens within its borders, not just the main land itself. To do so, we here of the Walker Corps will defend these borders. We will also be conducting operations to counter the enemy offensive"

*The TV began to show a slideshow of pictures of what seemed to be mechas. Giant humanoid machines that made armored warfare even more complex. It seemed as though in this world they were called Walkers. In Jared's world, Mechas were born out of science fiction, through games, cartoons and even books. It seemed that this world was more advanced when it came to their military.

The Walkers were a tactical matte dark grey. Their figure was very sleek and curved. They looked agile and maneuverable, rather than clunky and slow. Where there heads and fsce should be were goggles plating that imitated a mask to cover the areas where the nose and mouth should be.

Jared was intrigued by this, after all, the game he played in his world, Saber Saga, was a game about Mechas. He even saved up his own allowance to head to an arcade where they had a machine that allowed you to sit in a mecha cockpit. Despite the short time he spent in it, he had fun since it was related to Saber Saga.

"I can't throw away this opportunity in life to actually become a pilot of that. I've got a new start here, I need to savor it" Jared thought to himself.

With that he went on to do the gorcceries, humming to himself as he continued to wonder about everything and anything.

30 minutes had passed before Jared finished buying the grocceries. He had checked everything off the list and with the bags in his hand, he set off to return home. The sun was shining bright and the clear blue sky was more blue than ever. It was peaceful and serene, nothing could be better. From afar, Jared saw Mina wave to him. She shouted his name and started to walk towards him.

As Jared waved back, his vision went black. His ears were ringing as dust and rubble were blown into his face. Jared opened his eyes, he could see smoke rising into the air, clouding the blue sky above. Jared struggled to push himself up, looking over to where Mina was last seen, but there was no one there, no one except for bits and pieces of human remains. Blood stains covered the street while craters lined the entiretyof it. Jared looked behind him and what he saw caused his eyes to widen. There were missles headed for the other parts of the town. Explosions going off everywhere as the sounds of gunfire errupted.

Jared smacked his ears, getting the ringing to die down. He was too shocked to move, franctically turning his head around as he watched the people run around in panic. Without noticing, the old man from earlier grabbed onto Jared's leg.

"Kireru please! Help me!"

The old man was missing the lower half of his body and was clearly not going to make it no matter what. Jared jerked his leg in fear and tried to move, yet found himself unable to. Where would he go? A curse of being so well known and dependable is the pressure put on you when you don't know how to help someone. The old man desperately crawled towards Jared before bleeding out, the blood pooling at Jared's feet.

"No... This can't be... I just got here... I just met the supposed love of my life... Why is everything around me crumbling to pieces again"

Jared's mind felt as though it would explode from the chaos around him. He stumbled back into a wall as the ground started to shake slightly. He could hear giant footsteps from afar and remembered from the news. The Walker Corp*. As the footsteps grew closer, the sounds of gunfire and screaming grew louder as well. Jared remembered at that moment, his parents. He had to get back home and check if they were okay.

As Jared ran to his house, a voice yelled out to him from the front. A squad of soldiers raised their guns at him.

"Halt citizen! If you value your life you will surrender without struggle and come with us!"

Jared froze up and fell to his knees. That's right, he valued his life. He was given a second chance to live, he might as well survive. Its not like he got attached to his new parents anyways. He barely got to spend time with them, better to let them go now than to get attached. However, seeing Mina smiling happily, the fact that she was smiling because of his existence and yet in the next moment, she's now a splatter of blood on the concrete. No matter how hard he tried to keep his mind off of it with "Its okay, I'll make it out alive, everything will be alright" his heart throbbed with pain that he had almost forgotten about. Pain that he endured for so long that by now, shouldn't even hurt him.

Why were the Walker Corp here? What did this town do to the Alveste Empire to make them launch an assault on this peaceful town. The world around Jared started to slow down. He could see the Walkers moving around, firing the rockets mounted on their shoulders, firing their machine guns at buildings and civilians. There were soldiers roughing up civilians and gunning them down. Whilst Jared looked around, the soldiers rushed him, forcing him on the ground. Before he had a chance to speak up, he was handcuffed behind his back and knocked unconscious with the butt of a rifle to his head.

As the chaos ensued and the town was torn apart by the Walkers and soldiers, Avela frowned at the sight she saw from her orb. She hadn't planned to make her move on Jared yet. She stood up from her throne and noticing the man behind her she spat in disgust.

"So Lenja, you plan to take my toy and turn him into one of your cogs for your war machine?"

The man stepped out of the shadows, putting on a smirk

"Oh Avela, did you really think you could hide your latest possesion from the god of war? The Alveste Empire, my devout followers will be sure to take care of him. I do see potential for him, especially in the... What did they call it again, the Walker Corp?"

Avela laughed before staring him dead in the eye. "You will regret interfering with my things. You don't know who you're messing with Lenja, this boy... He isn't normal, and he's beyond your control"

"Oh please, like you could control the boy. If I, the god of war, can't control him, then how will you be able to"

Avela sighed "Brute force doesn't solve everything Lenja, but I won't persist. Do what you will, but know that you have been warned"

Lenja laughed with a booming voice as he stepped back into the shadows. Avela then sat in her throne, watching Jared as he lay unconscious with the soldiers. His mind was resolute. If this world was going to rob him of what he'd been given, then it might as well rob him of his past. No longer was he to know himself as Jared. He was now, Kireru Yatosuke. The unknown champion of Mistress Avela.
