The last remnants of the revolt against the Fairy and Human races. She must save the Were race from extinction and restore the balance that was corrupted and smeared by the views of the Fairies. The Fairies were forgiving, kind, and generous. It wasn't until the disappearance of the king did the resentment and bitterness for the Were race start.
King Ackthorne was the first and last king, anointed by God Ra and his little sister: Goddess Serena. His departure has been one of the top mysteries, not that it matters anymore. Ackthorne has been missing since the war first broke out: five hundred years ago. He is undoubtedly dead. The kings' duty was to keep the peace between the Fairies and the Weres, the only races at the time. Fairies consist of Mermaids, Elves, Nymphs, Druids, Pixies, Succubi, Vampires, and the like. All Faries have an affinity for the sun. On the other hand, Weres consist of Werefoxes, Weredogs, Werebunnies, Werewolves, Chimera, Jenga, and the like.
Right before the kings' disappearance all of the magical medicinal and healing abilities of the Weres no longer began to work. A day right after the mysterious curse, the king disappeared. Two months passed and the Fairies who once thought highly of the Weres abilities began to mock and harm the Weres often stealing from them in the process. Within a week, a mysterious race appeared. Humans. They were smart and innovative, naturally, the fairies liked them more than they liked the weres. Another two month period passed and by then many Weres have died due to the abuse of the Fairies and Humans, resulting in an all-out bloody war.
When almost every Were had just given up, an oracle announced that a savior would be born bearing the mark of the moon. Luckily, the prophesy remained true and a hero was born. That hero would be named Astrid. She had the mark of a crescent embedded into her left thigh. From the moment she was born training was an absolute necessity. Nothing else mattered. Parents of other Were-children would gladly ignore their own just to take care of Astrid. Each wanting to leave all their knowledge to famous 'hero.' Neglecting their kids in some way or another.
It was only natural that this would spark a never-ending fountain of jealousy.
But with each gain there is a set back, and for Astrid that is the fact that she is close to an utter robot. Being the way she is, no children wished to come to her aid she she were bullied. Her status as the future hero depleting with every giggle or blurt of laughter.
