Seeing him again..

Sarah walked out of her office building, taking a deep breath of the fresh air outside. It had been a long day, and she was ready to go home and relax. As she walked towards her car, she saw David approaching her. It had been two years since they last saw each other, but she could still recognize him from a distance. He looked older, but still as handsome as ever.

Sarah and David had divorced two years ago after being married for five years. Sarah had come from a poor family, and her parents had arranged her marriage to David, who came from a wealthy family. At first, Sarah was happy to have such a successful and wealthy husband, even though the marriage had been arranged.

However, over time, she realized that David was cold and distant towards her. They had separate rooms, and David rarely spent time with her outside of their social obligations. Sarah tried to reach out to him, texting and calling him about his office timings, but he never responded. He didn't even celebrate their anniversary or her birthday, but she would always give him gifts.

Feeling neglected and alone, Sarah would often sleep on the couch in the hall, waiting for David to come home. But he would ignore her, going straight to his room without a word.

Unbeknownst to Sarah, David's first love, Caroline, had been the one who had caused misunderstandings about Sarah to David and his family. Caroline was jealous of Sarah, and had spread rumors about her to David's family, saying that she was not a suitable match for David and that she was only interested in his money.

David's family, who had always been wary of Sarah because of her humble background, believed Caroline's lies and started to ignore Sarah. David, who was already emotionally distant, believed the rumors and started to pull away from Sarah as well.

Sarah was devastated when she found out about Caroline's lies. She couldn't understand why David and his family would believe such rumors. She tried to talk to David about it, but he refused to listen. He was convinced that Sarah was only interested in his money, just like Caroline had claimed.

After months of trying to make the marriage work, Sarah realized that it was a lost cause. She filed for divorce, and David didn't contest it. He didn't seem to care that their marriage was over.

It was only after the divorce that Sarah found out the truth about Caroline's lies. David's family had finally realized that they had been wrong about Sarah, and they apologized to her. But it was too late. The damage had already been done, and Sarah had moved on with her life.

Seeing David again brought back a flood of emotions for Sarah. She didn't know how to feel about him after all that had happened. She wondered if he had changed, or if he was still the same cold and distant man that she had married.

As David approached her, Sarah put on a brave face and greeted him. They exchanged pleasantries, and David asked her how she was doing. Sarah didn't want to get into the details of her life, so she simply said that she was doing well.

David seemed genuinely interested in catching up with her, but Sarah didn't want to dwell on the past. She wished him well and got into her car, driving away from him and towards her future.

A second chance..

Chapter Two

Later that evening, Sarah was sitting on her couch watching TV when she heard a knock at the door. She got up to answer it, and was surprised to see David standing there.

"Hi, Sarah," he said. "Can I come in?"

Sarah hesitated for a moment, but then nodded and let him in. They sat down on the couch, awkwardly looking at each other.

"I just wanted to say hi," David said. "I saw you earlier today and I realized how much I missed you."

Sarah was taken aback by his words. She had never expected to hear that from him. She felt a mix of emotions - anger, sadness, and confusion.

"What do you mean?" she asked. "We're divorced. It's over."

"I know," David said. “But I've been thinking a lot lately. I realize now that I was wrong to treat you the way I did. I want to try again, Sarah. I want us to have a second chance.”

Sarah felt a pang of hope and fear in her chest. She had dreamed of hearing those words from David for years, but now that they were actually being said, she wasn't sure if she was ready to believe them. The pain he had caused her during their marriage was still fresh in her mind, and she didn't want to go through that again.

"I don't know, David," she said. "I'm not sure if I can trust you again."

"I understand that," David replied. "But please, Sarah, give me a chance to make things right. I know I messed up, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to earn your forgiveness."

Sarah thought about it for a few moments. Despite her reservations, a part of her still loved David and longed to be with him again. She wanted to believe that he had changed, that he was truly sorry for what he had done.

"I'll think about it," she said finally. "But I need time. I can't just jump back into a relationship with you like nothing ever happened."

"I understand," David said. "Take all the time you need. I'll be here whenever you're ready."

They talked for a while longer, catching up on each other's lives and reminiscing about old times. Sarah found herself enjoying David's company, laughing at his jokes and feeling a sense of comfort in his presence. But at the same time, she couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty that lingered in the back of her mind.

As the night wore on, David eventually got up to leave. He gave Sarah a tentative hug before heading out the door.

"Take care of yourself, Sarah," he said. "I'll be in touch."

Sarah watched him walk away, feeling a mix of emotions once again. She wasn't sure what the future held for her and David, but she knew that she needed to take things slow and be cautious. She didn't want to rush into anything and end up getting hurt again.

With a heavy sigh, she settled back onto the couch, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions. She wasn't sure where this unexpected visit from David would lead, but for the first time in a long while, she felt a glimmer of hope.
