dark mages are seen as evil, that is something everyone knows, they use demonic powers, can create undead, and even kill gods, though only dark mages know that these things are not exactly correct.

"so why is this girl being so nice to me?" a person wearing black tattered robes asked himself while looking at the weak looking girl making tea in front of him.

the robed man was once the strongest dark mage erebus, he was known as the dark mage god, but now, he has lost most of his powers after being betrayed by the other dark mages, he lost his powers while trying to escape to another world, because he lost his powers the magic he used to go to another world messed up, and so he appeared in a river, almost drowning.

but then a weak looking girl jumped in the water and pulled him to safety, and even brought him to the house where the girl lived, "well, not exactly a house, more like a massive block with small rooms in it." erebus thought while looking around the room with only one window.

the room did not even have a bed, only one couch and one chair, with a table in the middle, there were some bookshelves without books next to one of the walls, there was only one side room with a toilet and a shower.

"u-umm, the tea is ready." the girl said kindly to the robed man, interrupting the silence.

"ah, thank you, girl." the robed man said with a smile as he took a sip.

"i am not a girl, i am a boy, and my name is kay." the boy said while pouting.

"ah, excuse me. i have not introduced myself yet, i am known as erebus, kay." erebus said.

"so, mr erebus, why were you drowning in that river?" kay asked curiously.

"well, i am ashamed to admit it, but i was using a transportation spell, and i messed up, so i landed in the water." erebus said calmly.

"wait, a transportation spell? you are a mage?" kay stood up from his seat.

"yes i am a mage, what is wrong?" erebus confusedly asked.

"nothing, i am just a bit jealous, since i am a tamer." kay answered sadly.

"hmm? tamer? so you are a tamer, good, that is what i need."

"why would you need a useless tamer that can not even control a weak monster?" kay asked.

"now that is even better! i have an offer for you, kay."

"offer?"

"yes, an offer, you help me collect some things, and in exchange i will become your tamed beast, how does that sound?" erebus asked with a strange look in his eyes.

"but you are a human, how can you become a tamed beast?" hearing this offer kay was confused, because humans can not tame humans, this has always been known.

"i am not far from human, i am a spirit, a humanoid spirit." as erebus said this his robe disappeared, and his entire body turned into a blue and purple humanoid blur with white eyes.

"this is my true form." the transformed erebus said with an echoing voice.

this scared kay, he thought erebus was a human but now he found out he was a monster.

"now, is the deal on, or not?" erebus urged

after a short while of thinking kay answered.

"fine, i accept, just do not regret this." as kay said this his body started to hurt, with the pain came a feeling, a feeling like every part of himself was becoming stronger and stronger.

together with the physical pain there was also a headache, as the headache got stronger kay suddenly remembered things he had never seen, after looking through the memories he realized that the memories belonged to erebus.

the memories were painful, even the most happy memories ended badly, as if erebus had no good memories, but even so, erebus never gave up hope, he kept on going forward, this inspired kay, since erebus never gave up, why would he?

looking at erebus with one of his hands on his head sam realized that the same was happening to him.

eventually the pain got so bad that kay was unable to handle it and fainted.

the last thing kay heard was erebus saying "goodnight."

"ugh, what happened?" kay woke up with a headache, wanting to get some water to drink he walked to the bathroom, took a cup, but as soon as kay touched the cup, it shattered into many pieces, surprising kay.

"w- what?!" kay jumped back, but the force of the jump knocked him into the wall.

"ouch." kay said out of shock, but there was no pain, just an uncomfortable feeling under him.

"could you get off me?" a familiar voice asked from under kay.

"eh? who are you? wait, is that you erebus?" kay quickly recognized the voice and stood up.

"hey erebus, how long was i out?" kay asked while looking at the blue and purple humanoid blur.

"it has been three days since you fainted." erebus answered casually.

"three days!?" kay could not believe what erebus said so he ran to the main room and looked for his phone, but the phone was nowhere to be found.

"looking for this?" erebus asked while walking into the room holding a blue phone with a cracked screen.

"give it here!" kay saw the phone and tried to grab it, but missed because of a sudden increase in speed, causing kay to run into the wall behind erebus.

kay turned around and tried to grab the phone again but erebus held it up high with what seemed to be telekinesis, since the phone started floating without anything touching it.

"please give it back!" kay became upset with both the way his body moved and erebus who held the phone away from him.

"no, if you grab this thing it will shatter like that cup from earlier, and i do not think you want that, right?" erebus said.

"why is this happening? why am i suddenly so strong?" kay was confused about the sudden burst of strength that suddenly appeared after waking up, kay had never been strong, he even looked so feminine that everyone thought he was a girl, just like erebus thought at first.

"that is because of your special tamer abilities, the reason i chose you was because of these abilities. you see, the kind of tamer you are is called a special tamer, they are unable to tame beasts by capturing, instead they need the beasts permission to enter an equal contract where the tamer provides something for the beast, and then the beast helps the tamer, in addition to that, both parties get stronger depending on the others strength." erebus explained.

"so that is why i suddenly became so strong, it was because of you." kay finally understood the reason behind his strength.

"but how can i limit my strength?" kay asked erebus.

"i will forcefully lower your strength until there is time for you to learn how to, since there seems to be an event at your school." erebus said while moving his hand a bit.

after erebus finished moving his hand a blue light appeared around kay, causing his strength to return to what it was previously.

"ah! right, the school has a tournament for awakened!" kay realized that he had forgotten one of the most important things of the entire school year, previously he was not allowed to participate because he had no tamed beast, but now he had erebus on his side! so he will at least try.

"get ready then." as erebus said this kay rushed to the pile of clothes next to his bed and started to choose an outfit, but before he could pick anything erebus complained.

"how can you wear such pathetic clothes to an event?"

"i-i have no other clothes." kay anwsered with his head lowered.

"then i will make you some right now." erebus said while creating a thread with magic power and weaving it into an outfit, the tread moved like a snake, with smooth moves the tread weaved and weaved, as kay looked at erebus he saw that it was not even a bit difficult for him to control the magic like that.

after a few minutes erebus was done, the newly made clothes looked like a robe made of a light purple and blue fabric, but even though it was a robe it was very light and easy to move in, erebus even made chest armor, gloves and boots made of a dark silver colored metal to go along with the robe.

the dark silver gloves and boots looked like insanely sharp claws, ready to tear any defense to shreds, the beauty of the entire set causing kay to look at the equipment in shock.
