Introduction

Hi!

My name is Jeanne!

I was born on the 17th of July and currently a 13-year old. A cancer as the zodiac signs would say. And yeah, I am Intuitive, Caring, Protective, and Loyal just like a Cancer. Although we know that Zodiac traits are just all made up so that we as humans will respond to what they say and become what the Zodiac says we are.

Typical human, that I am. Hehe.

Anyway, this is my Journal and I am about to tell you really interesting things that happened to me.

Ready?

I was born with a gift. I never thought I'd discover it on my own but it was due to this gift that I realized I'm just an ordinary person.

Comprehension- is the gift I've been given and I believe is taken lightly by all other people who's been gifted with the same thing.

I started to use this gift when I became 12 years old and with this delay of use, all my past years are fragments of my memories and a blur.

I guess you could say I'm a late bloomer. ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ

The transition was due to a natural phenomenon. A huge typhoon hit our city that caused a devastation to everyone and huge losses to those in the lowlands.

My family was one of those. (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ

I am born the second. A middle child who's got the attention of a small pebble by the streets, never got a heart to heart conversation with either one of my parents. I am a well-spirited child with the energy of a playful wolf.

My little sister, a small girl who loves to color her book and cling onto my parent's back. She's strong despite her in-born heart disease. She's only 6 yrs younger but has more potential than the current me.

My older brother, about a year older than me. He's an unorthodox kind of person, a genius of a different category, he was able to use comprehension at age 2 and can still remember the things that happened at that age.

Our dad was lawyer. A great one. He used to lift our family from being in the lower class up to the middle class. I as the middle-child is a carbon copy of my dad's face. I'm quite irritated about how my dad's acquaintances expect me to follow his steps and become a lawyer.

We lost him in that typhoon trying to save our lives.

His wake is as big as a Taylor Swift concert because of all the people who visited.

Our mom who also became our dad. She takes care of us and also work for the family. Starting all over again from the huge loss, she lifted us back up not at the same social status but enough for us to live our lives comfortably.

Since that tragic event, everything changed from the things we have to the way we think and act.

Having a traumatic experience, a loss, a huge loss. It kept repeating inside my head, the scenes from everything that happened in that disaster.

The flood level that kept going up, me and my family that struggled to climb the attic and to get out, losing my dad, saying goodbye to him, imagining him trapped inside the attic as the flood level reached the peak of our house.

That's when everything started to make sense for me. That's when life reminded me that it is temporary.

That's when I started to use comprehension.

The Journal

"Have you ever found something that changed your life, the way you normally live and the way you actually think? These things are inevitably existing in all of our lives. People just look at things as commonly as it can be making it a background object blurred from the focus. Take for example a person just passing by across the street. That's someone you know or not and you won't know until you've actually looked closely. There are also people who we may think we know but we actually don't and there are these who we feel like we do know them even if we actually don't."

As I walk up to my room for a rest, I stumbled a upon a serious quest... cleaning it.

It was dusty, not rusty. I tried to fix and clean everything up by myself but it seems to be a little bit too good to be true. Like everyone else, I found something interesting while I was sorting out my stuffs. It was a journal. I did not realize whose journal that was and it stayed that way. Having our new house built from my dad's insurance money, I would not think that a strange object could exist. Although, the place I'm living in is quite solemn.

This was previously a very wide rice field but is abandoned due to its depletion of the nutrients deep down the soil. Now, a small 2-storey house is in the middle of it. Alone.

The best part is, there are no neighbors to get annoyed at.

Anyway, back to this journal that I found. To describe it being pretty old would be an insult... to a teenager.

It was an average-sized hardbound square notebook but quite interestingly, I cannot open it. Like some wizard cast a spell on it. "Only to be opened by the worthy". And I'm not worthy. But that's just what I thought until one evening, or dawn. I stumbled upon it once again in different circumstances. It was midnight went I went up to my room and was planning to go to bed. I only had my phone to light up the way but it clearly did not do its job as I bumped the stack of notebooks on my mini desk. So I decided to turn the light up. Looking at the scattered notebooks, I realized that the stubborn journal I was trying to open finally opened.

Right away, I picked it up and tried to read the first few pages. With font sizes super small, it is really hard to read. Imagine having your web browser at 25% zoom, it would cost your eyesight. I only got to read the first few paragraphs saying that the journal opens at its own will, and saw the other page having a strange symbol. It shows a bird standing on a wire. It was vague since it's like a silhouette... and it all happened so fast that after a few seconds, the journal closed on its own. 'slam fx'
