It was a fine Monday morning. In a colony situated at the center of the Mumbai city, so many people where gathering at a house. All of them were wearing white dresses. The atmosphere there was filled with sadness.

There one man asked a woman "How did he die ?"

She replied "It was a heart attack."

"Oh I see ." He replied

She continued "He is 75 years old now. Such a great man. He was so kindhearted. Eventhough he was poor he was well educated. He also educated his children. See! his children are all living in good standard now."

"Who is that woman crying aloud ?"

the man asked .

She replied "She is the old man's elder daughter.Madhavi.He is having two daughters and one son.Madhavi,Mohan and Mohini."

Beside Madhavi there stood a small girl. She looked 7 or 8-year-old. She was so silent. She didn't even try to console her mother.

Yes! She was Madhavi's younger daughter. Meera. After some time there came a young boy .

Meera who was so silent till then started to speak with him.

"Hi Manu bhaiya! Why are you late?"

I came now from school. I came to know that our Nana went when Mohan uncle came to my school to pick me from there.

Meera how did it happen?"

I was getting ready to go school. Appa and Amma went for work. Akka also went to her school. When I went to Nana's room he told he was having chest pain. I informed Nany. We called Appa and Amma. I also contacted Mohan Mama. They all came and took him to the hospital. But on the way..." Her voice became feeble.Manu tried to console her. "It's OK dear! Everyone have to go to meet god one day"

Meera tried not to cry. Suddenly, one old man came to call them." Children, come and participate in the pooja for your Nana ji" "Ji Pandit ji" they said. They went with him to do the pooja .

At last their Nana's body was going to be taken for the cremature. Their Nani was crying like anything. Yes!she lost her beloved life partner forever.

Manu also went for the cremature. Meera became silent again. Manu was Mohini's son. Manu and Meera had a very good friendship. He was her first boy bestie. Both of them had elder sisters. Madhu was Meera's sister and Maneesha was Manu's sister. There was 10 year age gap between Meera and Madhu. They always had very good fights for every small thing. Meera was very good at irritating her sister. Madhu was short-tempered.

After some time Manu came back.

He introduced two boys to Meera.

"Meera, meet them.He is Hari and he is Vidhu. Do you know who they are? " "Nahi Bhaiyya. But I have seen them before in some family functions." "Meera they are Mohan uncle's sons." "Oh I see"

After some hours everyone went to their home.Meera was very sad Days passed. Years passed. At times she used to think about her Nana especially whenever she gets scolded by her parents, she used to think about those days with her Nana and she used to complain about her parents to him in her mind.
