"Look, it was all your fault okay." Tommy splutted out from his bastard mouth. Tommy Gnayer Hamford, a God forsaking image of a husband, not just a husband, the insolent Father of twins, how did she end up with such a beast?, how could she reverse this?, was there really no way she could go back in time to undo this? she loved her twins though, its the only reason she'd tolerated all of this so far, it was because she thought it was okay if her children had a father like the other kids at school but it may have been the wrong decision letting it come this far all through these years.
She had to do something about it now.
"Oh my Tommy, there's no way you can be serious about saying your addiction is my fault." those words she let out were carefully selected, she couldn't afford to utter the wrong words in this situation. She needed to stay calm, it's how she had survived all through this.
"Haah, 'addiction' you say." Tommy scolded, and at that moment, she knew she had said something that would infuriate him. The word 'addiction' echoed in her ears. She had to say something or else, she would be a goner for tonight.
She didn't want that.
"Tommy, did I say something to irk your nerves? I'm sorry if i——" she muttered quickly but was cut off by the heavy footsteps of Tommy, she knew it was over when he hastened his steps towards her, he was going to haunt her for her sins. As strong as she was, she knew how reckless he could be. She didn't want any harm, more still, she had work the next day. She began to think if It would be better to just die in the hands of Tommy.
However, if she dies, her kids may die too. She couldn't leave her kids to suffer at the hands of a monster, she couldn't give up that easily, she had to be strong.
RUN!!!
The only movement her adrenaline hormones could reinforce at a time like this was to run. There was nothing much she could do anyway. He was much bigger, much stronger, the veins popping out of his pale white skin could be seen clearly without having to peek. All of this because of a miscalculated word she administered to him, she felt stupid for taking a risk to speak a truth.
A fact.
All of this happens so fast, there was no time to think about what had already occurred, she was in danger and she was aware, but she was sure of one thing. Her kids were safe in somewhere no one knew except her all too good secretary, her trust-worthy secretary.
She shouldn't have picked a hotel room for this meeting in the first place, it was way too dangerous, anywhere Tommy stepped foot in, was dangerous, how could she had taken such a risk?. She pulled on the finely made copper door knob, but It wouldn't bulge, no matter how much force she used, it didn't open.
It was locked by Tommy.
Did he plan this from the start?
As feisty as she was, she was completely weak at the face of Tommy but even still, she could only think about her kids, she had to live for them, they were her treasures, they could have been her weakness or her strength but at that moment, they were her strength.
An idea came to life in her mind. It was the most reasonable panacea to get away from the crazy bastard. The ardent desire to initiate her idea took over her.
* * *
As she laid down still, all she wondered was why she couldn't see or feel but at least she could hear the chattering of people, she realised they were Ellen's and Evans' and a lady in their midst, 'who was that' she thought. She wanted to see them and hug them but she couldn't, she tried to open her eyes but all she could feel was the heaviness of her own body as if she was being oppressed by intense gravity.
"Hey, her fingers just moved, I'll call the doctor, stay with mommy okay kids." Miss liu jumped as she spoke. Of course, the lady in the midst of her kids was Miss liu, her secretary. Miss liu brought the twins here after hearing the news. She was certain that she was a patient in a hospital now and she couldn't help but wonder why.
As she stayed there half conscious, the doctor with a white coat glistening on his tanned skin made way into the ordinary looking hospital ward where she was, Miss liu followed suite. He held his stethoscope to her skin and suddenly she could feel the pain of cold metal stain her skin, the metal woke her senses but there's something protecting her,a hospital gown, she was relieved knowing that she could finally feel and thought she could maybe see too. The urge to see her kids grew as she fought to fit light into her emerald orbs but they still felt heavy.
I want to see them.
"the anaesthetic has worn off quite a lot, she should regain full consciousness soon. Kids, your mom is alright, she'd be sad if you're worried, and get some rest miss." the tan skinned doctor reassured everyone and at once, everyone gave a sigh of relief but they still awaited her wake. She flinched from having to bear the pain of her stiff neck which was bandaged as well as her right leg. The pain was exhilarating but she could endure. It was nothing compared to everything she had to deal with in the past. She wasn't still aware of why she was admitted, she couldn't remember how she got wounded. Her memory itched to recall but there was nothing.
Tommy Gnayer Hamford rushing towards her was the only memory her overworked brain could process. Deep in thought, she wondered where she could have been running off to at that time.
Blurry, an extremely blurry vision was what she could call sight but she was glad that she could now see the broken teeth of two excellent pair of smiles. Ellen and Evans were happy to hear the doctor say their mother was alright and they were hopefully waiting to hear her soft voice, I miss them as much as they miss me. Her imperfect sight was better compared to nothing because she was happy to see her treasures.
"Ellen, Evans, my babies, come give mommy a hug, I missed you soooo much, I'm okay now alright, I'm fine, I'm so sorry I was gone." she sighed, their grip was tight and she could feel it, their desperation to run away from this wicked world with her because they didn't want to lose her neither did she, their father may be sick but it didn't matter, she was well aware of the 9 months her womb housed and fed those two and It would be the last thing she'd ever want to regret.
"Glad youre okay boss, you should stop taking risks seriously, I thought i was gonna piss my pants." Helen liu sighed as she averted her gaze.
"I'm sorry for worrying you," she mumbled, it was true that she felt sorry, she disliked having people worry about her. She smiled to assure Miss liu of her better state of mind of body in which was understood. "But can you tell me why I'm here, it's getting frustrating not being able to remember." she confessed.
"You just regained consciousness and that's the first thing you're most bothered about? Think about your health for once! you may be a strong domineering woman but the people around you would die worrying about your well being boss." Miss liu hissed. Helen liu was pissed because other than work, she wouldn't call her boss 'boss'.
"Well, Helen, I said I'm sorry, I can't imagine how you must have felt running around with the kids, I truly am sorry okay, but my brain is overheating here, I'm really confused you know." a wry grin formed on her lips while she spoke, she thought it would convince Miss liu to tell her why Tommy was rushing towards her like she was his prey and him, her hungry predator.
"You should at least let your kids fall asleep before looking for sources to soothe your curiosity." she flinched. Was she avoiding this question or she just really wanted the kids to fall deep asleep first. That she wouldn't know, she was impossible to read as always, her Asian eyes could never give her away, she looks as tough as a rock, one which couldn't be broken using just any means, it's how she looked and that's how she had worked as a secretary for so many years, her boss was happy to hire a dedicated employee but whenever miss liu used this tough as a rock method on her, she hated it because even she being the boss, couldn't break her.
"Well sure, Miss liu, my precious, I'll gladly wait if you feed me some food, a patient is starving and I know you were caring enough to bring some food, right?" her voice as soft as ever so Miss liu would give in to her feigned act of meekness.
By this time, she could feel her kids sleepy eyes, the ward was way to small to have them sleep over. Knowing that they all couldn't fit on the bed she was on, she ordered to be moved to a vip ward with two beds. Helen liu had given her a well cooked meal of congee, as expected miss liu always brought her this whenever she'd come up with an illness of any sort, although it made her wonder, was this a tradition in her secretary's country? Or a habit, without any hesitation though, she downed the food and of course it wasn't enough. Miss liu noticed this and prepared to leave the ward by grabbing her purse which she held firmly between her thumb and her palm.
"Hey, I'll be branching the office for a while and then I'll grab some essentials and food for us all on the way, would you like anything?" she asked waiting for an urgent reply.
"You can get the usual for the kids and some pizza too, i'll eat anything you eat." miss liu walked towards the door and halted.
"Get some rest, I won't be long." miss liu said in a low hushed tone, she didn't want to wake the kids on her boss' aching body.
"Thank you Helen, really thanks for everything, I really appreciate." after hearing her boss say those words, she left without batting an eye but she understood, she just didn't want to show her emotions, her worry. Their relationship was non other than a boss and his or her employee but other than at work, miss liu was the only one that could be relied on, would it be considered friendship? They never gave meaning to how close they were, maybe it would be called family considering the hatred for the facade of a word 'friendship'. This was what they shared in common.
* * *
Her eyes lifted as her pupils dilated to absorb light to see in the dark. She sighted an unfamiliar ceiling different from the ward she was laid in a while ago, she realised she was now in the VIP ward she requested for. Her kids were on the second bed peacefully asleep, she peeked at them and smiled, the bed was more comfortable now. She was happy she had enough money to spend on them. The television was on, a lowered volume though but she could tell that there was a person on the couch. It was Helen.
"You should be hungry, the kids ate already, it's midnight but I think you should still eat." miss liu said without turning back. Her eyes glued to the images on the television set.
"Thanks," she said while she checked her side drawer for her dinner. "Can we discuss now, you know, what happened to me?" she asked, she had been dreaming of talking about it because of how anxious she felt, she wanted to know.
"Sure, it was Tommy." miss liu said without hesitation, she gently opened her meal pack to find out what the meal she was going to settle on for the night was. It was matzo ball soup. She knew she could count on miss liu for food making decisions.
"I know it was Tommy, but do you have any idea what happened?" she replied as she aimed for the spoon and glanced to miss liu's side, she saw a box of pizza and opened it to see if it was empty. It wasnt, at least she had something to top her meal up with—'was this healthy though?' she thought.
"The police got involved you know, you could have died, why did you call him to meet you up in a hotel room?" miss liu frowned as she turned to look her in the eye. She began to remember, she was sure she called him, and it was relating to his addiction.
LSD addiction.
"They did?" she spluttered while trying to contain her surprise but it showed eventually.
Why did the police get involved?, how serious was this?
"Well yeah, considering the fact you were thrown down a two storey building 20 feet apart." irritation overcame miss liu's voice, she looked at her boss ever so painfully then stood up and shuffled towards the bed.
"I was thrown? Can you explain furth—" she was cut off.
"Tommy is with the police right now, everyone is waiting for you to press charges, we're all sure you will, he can't be free anymore Jane, please, this has gone too far," she talked as she looked at her boss in the eye after sitting on the chair beside the bed. Press charges? Was he caught already? That wouldn't be good, he shouldn't be caught because if he is, what would happen to her? She was also involved.
"The police had their hands on him and also the cctv at the hotel you both were, I'm happy there was a cctv staring into that balcony. It looked like you were running to jump out but Tommy had your hair covered tightly unto his fists, I thought he was gonna stop you Jane but he pushed you down there himself, you still don't want to press charges? He's crazy Jane, he truly is. " miss liu blurted without realising her raised voice. If what she heard was true, then there was no reason to feel surprised, she could now remember what happened, it seemed that her brain just needed a push.
* * *
She ran to execute her plans, the perfect escape plan to get away from the aggravated beast, she was just about two and a half feet away from the balcony rail, plants and flowers filled the place and her nostrils flared with olfaction, agility and trepidation. She felt a tight grip on her hair, she had thought she was fast enough but the heels she wore did more harm than good, if not for them she would have been faster, she wouldn't be feeling this oppressed by Tommy if she was faster.
"My lovely Jane, repeat what you said and I shall let you go." Tommy's voice was in a hushed tone but she could still hear how hoarse it was, it filled her head like it was in 8d.
I'm gone.
"I'm... I'm sorry, just let me go, we can talk this out Tommy." she apologized. The apology had no tone and the reason was as clear as day. She didn't feel apologetic. She still wanted to fight up until the last minute. She heard the keys in his ****** pocket. If she could just act it out a little more and snatch them from his pocket as fast as she could.
"I said repeat what you said, are you disobeying me Jane, should I punish you Honey? You used to like my punishments back then right?" Tommy smirked, she could see it from the side of her eyes, his eyes glistened as his dilated pupils stared down at her. She desperately wished she could slap that dirty smirk off his face but she still had to act to retrieve the keys.
"Tommy, just relax okay, I'm sorry, I won't misuse my words again, I promise." she spat out.
"Dear little Jane, you dare to disobey me?" he gushed irritably. Now that he was irritated, calming him down would be impossible. She flinched and tried to escape his strong hold but his fingers pulled on every strand of her thick wavy black hair making her squirm. Blood pulsed through his veins faster than usual making it obvious that he was under the effect of drugs, she hated it when he called her 'Jane' in that state because it reminded her of what she used to be. She hated the name infact. The most boring name in the whole entire female hood. She thought of how to retrieve the keys because putting up an act would obviously end up a failure. She immediately turned back as she endured all the pain coming from her head, she hastily got hold of the keys but before she could make motion back to the door, Tommy's other hand squeezed her neck firmly as she choked and before she could beg, she was flinged off the balcony. She thought she was going to meet her doom.
She could see him smiling while he watched her fall to her end, it was the effect of that drug. The LSD. He was devoid of emotions as he thought it was all a joke.
A play.
It happened in slow motion. She felt like all the anxiety she hid throughout the past years unleashed itself as she fell, fear pierced through her heart but still, all she thought of were her kids, she wondered whether she was going to die and leave them by themselves, she was sure she wouldn't survive the fall that easily but in that split moment, just when she was about to hit the hard cemented floor right in front of the grand floor entrance of the hotel building, that was when she had realized that she made contact with something ever so forcefully.
Something as hard as bone and at the same time as soft as flesh.
A human body no doubt.
Not in the arms of this person but atop the skull and she could feel vividly how the body saved her but how she ruined the person. They both came crashing to the ground. The pain was extreme to both sides but she couldn't push aside the fact that she was saved. She was glad. She fought to look at where the body was before she lost consciousness and she saw a man, he looked huge compared to her average stature but he was unconscious or did she kill him?.
The piercing sound of the siren of the ambulance filled the scene as she thought of how Tommy threw her over like a piece of paper and then she released her lids to put her gorgeous green orbs to rest.
Who was this person who saved her? An angel?
She wanted to find him and thank him for saving her kids.
'I have to find him' she thought.
XX Hospital, Dandledore.
The reechoing of the rain was so prominent, tiny droplets lashed the window glass amplifying it's sound. She took a deep breath as she wondered why it rained so heavily on an ordinary summer night, even the forecasts were wrong, it was especially rare to have rain fall in the city. She indeed wanted to hear the night owls howling and the night bats screeching. She hated the rain, it made her feel weak. She hated the feeling of weakness but the weather was not what she could control. Day in, day out, four healing days had passed without the clock halting it's arrows even once, it went fast as always. It was peaceful but in this placid ward, even with the comfortable beds, one thing was unbearable.
Tommy Gnayer Hamford was still in police custody.
Tommy hadn't said a thing to the police yet, It felt like a miracle, he hadn't even called too. She desperately wished to be out of this tranquil place to face the real world. There was no noise here, there was barely any sound or people, everyone minded their business and stayed out of fights, it felt unreal, there wasn't even a portable network service here. It was like the world was giving her another chance.
Tomorrow was the day of her discharge, she requested it since she had to go back to work and most of all, take care of unsorted issues like Tommy's.

"Yes, I'm not changing my mind, their father is still out there." Jane said as firmly as possible. She didn't want her emotions to be shown at a time like this. Her stern manner of speaking showed severity and her face didn't mask her utmost authority.
"Surely, you seem to have a biased mindset about letting people care for your kids." Helen liu spoke letting her eyes reach Jane's, she always committed that act when she knew Jane was in the wrong.
"It's not a biased thought, it's a factual thought, you can never know what Nannies and Butlers would do to their employer's kids, this is the best thing I could come up with, it's my final decision, miss Liu." Jane whispered as they walked along the hospital hallway, she knew the empty corridors could bring about the echo of her voice. It was the day of her discharge and they were headed to sign the discharge papers at the reception. She anticipated a big fight in the nearest future and that fight needed no children in her way. She felt her decision was for the safety of her kids.
"Well, I don't think your final decision is the best decision, why would you send kids with wealthy and healthy living parents to an orphanage, that's awful, really." miss Liu let out her voice in a hushed tone as well but her emotions were as clear as day. She had developed a familiar bond with Ellen and Evans, seeing them go to a place like that would be a painful experience, and even to Jane.
"I need not your opinion on this, find the best orphanage with the best learning facilities in the city across, they'll be moving there today." Jane said as she hoisted the pen in her hand to sign the papers.
"Thank you for your patronage, get better soon." the lady in a nurse receptionist outfit yelled. She wanted to be heard of how well and nicely she treated the patients at the reception.
Lady Jane chuckled.
"Thank you for your heartfelt service," Lady Jane said as she looked up at the desperate nurse. Lady Jane instantly searched her purse and gave the nurse her business card. "You'd make a good family nurse, contact me soon." lady Jane insisted. Surprise enlightened the nurse's eyes and envy took hold of the minds of her colleagues', it was rare for a rookie to get acknowledged by the successful wealthy ladies of Dandledore but now a mere rookie was given a business card of a billionairess in public. The young nurse collected it with a firm smile. In actuality, lady Jane acknowledged her not because she looked nice, submissive was a better word. Tommy would be able to cope with her hopefully, her sly plans to put Tommy to rehab wouldn't work without an attractive nurse who'd force him to take his medications. Lady Jane felt sorry for the nurse because she already knew the moment she step foot out of that hospital ground, she would be contacted. Everyone wanted a pretty nice salary after all.
Lady Jane stepped into the passenger seat of her black maybach exelero, she expected Helen to say something but the secretary uttered not even a sigh. Miss liu hadn't spoke since lady Jane said that her opinion wasn't needed, she sat in silence as she thought of how harsh she had been just a while ago.
"I'm sorry, it's just—this is hard for me too." lady Jane consoled miss liu while looking through the windshield.
"It's alright, I understand." miss Liu replied. Her turns were smooth, like the car was hers to claim. The area was as serene as a cloudless sky, quiet and peaceful, exactly how the lady liked it, There were houses settled but the people were not in sight, not even cars were around the area. It made lady Jane realise that she'd never been to that hospital, but at the very least, she felt at peace a little for the past 4 days.
"We're heading to the office boss, the Chairman isn't happy with your absence." miss Liu blurted. For a second, lady Jane thought her life was peaceful.
What a delusional place.
"Okay." lady Jane concluded.
* * *
Upon the arrival of lady Jane Hamford, the managing director of XX food productions plc, she was welcomed with a lot of greetings, cards and flowers by those who wanted to be secretly favoured by her but most of all, a pile of work as expected. The office was still the same as always, the fresh wooden smell of most of the expensive furniture, the familiar golden name plate on the large table made of the beautiful red brown timber of mahogany, 'JANE HAMFORD' and just below those letters 'MANAGING DIRECTOR of the producton team' was inscribed. She was personally assigned by the chairman himself and as satire as it seemed, to the lady, it was only considered a side job. A cover job indeed. Signing documents and rejecting most of them was trivial, what was complex was having to deal with supporter clients but now the meetings were piled up.
What a pain!
She wasn't well known, her face was barely on the news but it was still risky showing her face to people. What if someone knew exactly who she was?
"Come in." lady Jane commanded. Miss Liu made her way closer to the large office table where lady jane was seated atop the red brown leather chair with her legs crossed parallel style. The office was way too comfortable.
"Here are the reports on the orphanage I found in Hanneston City 150 miles away, I think it's far enough, it should take about 3 hours to get there." miss Liu emphasised. Lady Jane thought her secretary was still being rebellious about the issue but apparently she was going along with the plan.
"Let me take a look at the documents." the lady said. The header indicated 'St. Francis Catholic Orphanage', moving them to a God-fearing environment might be good, maybe if she had stronger faith in God then her personal life would be as tranquil as it looked on the outside. The pictures on the documents were impressive. It had almost everything a child would be comfortable with, she was willing if the images she saw from the document weren't forged.
"I guess you agree?" miss Liu asked."It's probably the best around here."
"Yes okay, I'll give them one last kiss then they can be moved, don't tell them where they're off to,i won't change my mind even if they end up hating me." lady Jane mumbled. She thought it was okay to be sad, it was just a one time thing anyway, she just needed a little more time, she felt it was just an act of protecting them. She fought back her tears as the lump forming in her throat grew bigger, hiding it was as hard as keeping the whimpers that filled her voice in. It had taken her a while to come to this conclusion. Being a mother was her only weakness, it's the reason Tommy always used them against her, he would yell and torture them with words whenever he thought she did something wrong. The kids were too young to face all this drama which is why they must be protected, she loved them so much that no matter how much she had come to regret her past, she would go back to birth them a second time. It wasn't Tommy's fault. Just like he said. It was all her fault and she knew it.
"And Tommy called, you should probably visit the police station." miss Liu glared at lady Jane. Miss Liu had been expecting lady Jane to press charges but she didn't, because they'll both go to jail if he's investigated.
"Guess he couldn't hold out for more than four days," lady Jane said as she gave a thin smile. "I'm done with the packaging and distribution documents, you can send them to my assistant now, please make photocopies and send them to the packaging and distribution teams each, i'll call the driver." lady Jane continued. As much as she maintained a calm demeanor, the emotions she felt couldn't stay hidden. She was scared. What if when she brought up the idea of Tommy going to a rehabilitation centre and he ends up snapping again. That was the reason they met in a hotel to talk after all, it was also the reason why he snapped in the first place. This time, she had to say it in a public place, the police station.
Lady Jane gently stood up to adjust the beige halterneck and the white trouser suit that hugged her feminine curves. It was her best type of outfit since it showed off her authority. However, wearing corporate clothes in the summer wasn't comfortable but she couldn't back out because she gave in to the notion 'you are what you wear'. After she called Mr. Coleman, the driver, she hurried to the door while she grabbed her purse from the counter close to the bookshelf. Lady Jane walked through the office hallways as her shiny black stiletto heels intensified her footsteps. She could feel stares of both admiration and of envy pierce her reticent soul. She believed it was the behaviour of humans to react on impulse and gossip unknowingly. If only they knew how she got to where she was today.
As usual, the driver showed his chivalric behaviour by opening the right back seat door of the silver office Toyota car as she immediately stepped in, one heel at a time. He closed the door, bowed and rushed over to the drivers' seat.
"Good day, Lady Jane." driver Coleman greeted. He was a loyal hard worker as usual, he set the music tracks to the chilled beats lady Jane usually listened to on her way home from work, the soothing calm sound was enough to put one in a state of tranquility.
"Good day, Mr. Coleman, I hope you and your family are doing well, but of course you look healthy as always." she said while remembering his wife and three kids.
"yes, thank you, I'm living well." he gestured with his right hand. He looked happy.
"Your wife must care for you, you caught a good one." lady Jane gave an inaudible laughter while the driver responded with a grin. She noticed that Mr. Coleman wanted to say something but rather than engaging in a serious conversation, he restrained himself because he knew the lady wouldn't accept personal questions. He felt it was best to maintain a formal relationship. Lady Jane looked out the window as she allowed the soundtracks pleasurise her ears. The sounds made Dandledore look so entertaining but in reality, the city was far from entertaining. It was just a city full of people trying to look for a means of survival. The world was poor but the people of this city wouldn't accept, they put their feet to work in search of ways to make a living. They would do anything for gain even if it was to become a serial killer for money, they would, and willingly. However, lady Jane was no different from them. She was a successful billionairess after all.
Few minutes passed and Dandledore police district building came into vision. Sudden anxiety welled up in her. Mr. Coleman parked the car at the far end of the parking lot where the car was safe.
"We're here, Lady Jane." He spoke as he turned back to look at the lady just for a second.
"Thank you for your hard work, you can go home, I'll take it from here since I might be a little late." lady Jane replied just as fast. She opened the door as he did the same hurriedly, he may have wanted to show off that chivalrous act again but he was a minute late.
"I do not mind waiting, secretary Liu personally told me not to leave you be." Mr. Coleman blurted as he gesticulated.
"It's alright, go home to your family, if I wanted protection, i would have hired a bodyguard." lady Jane responded while signalling for him to hand her the keys in which he did.
"Take care Lady." Mr. Coleman said as they parted ways.
Lady Jane wasn't famous but the stares she felt as she entered the building was consistent, and as noisy as the place was, the clacking of her heels could still be heard. The policemen welcomed her with questions.
"Yes, His name is Tommy Hamford." she answered them nevertheless, she was given a seat but she still felt uncomfortable since she hated noisy places.
"And who is he to you Miss?" the police officer with the pale blonde hair and stony grey eyes retorted, he seemed to be a smoker or rather that's what he looked like.
"My husband, I'm Mrs Hamford." lady Jane declared with a firm smile while the officer was stunned with surprise.
"Oh, I'm sorry ma'am, do you have any proof?" the officer stuttered. lady Jane couldn't tell if he was doubting or if he was just doing his duties. The officer wondered how she became the wife of a detainee.
"He has a rose tattoo on the lower part of his nape and look, here's our wedding photo and a picture with our kids." lady Jane said. She expected this so she came prepared.
"Okay, that should be good enough ma'am, Mr Hamford is a suspect of attempted murder but we can't get hold of the victim, we've been waiting for her to press charges by now but it's been five days, I'm sorry we can't let him go free until this is sorted out ma'am." the officer spoke so confidently yet blindly, after all, those photos could be photo shopped yet he accepted without confrontation, besides, she was the victim, couldn't he see. It looked like they hadn't investigated much and that was what she was hoping for.
"I was the victim and it wasn't an attempted murder, it was a mistake and as you can see, I'm very healthy without any injuries. I want my husband out of this cell, I'll pay any amount." she explained showing him utmost confidence as she spoke, it was all a lie but it was safer this way. Her subconscious told her otherwise but as usual she ignored.
"I see, my assistant will check the CCTV of what happened on the day of the incident, wait a minute ma'am." he already agreed to free them the moment she said she'd pay any amount, he just didn't want to make it seem like he only cared about the money by giving in too quickly.
"There's no need for that, officer, please accept this." she insisted as she handed him a signed cheque note. This was illegal but he collected it and avoided her gaze. She smirked.
Humans are all the same after all.
"I see, wait a moment ma'am." the officer responded, he was still trying to play it out cool, she knew acting selfish would save her for a little while. He stood up and grabbed some keys.
Lady Jane sat and waited with her legs crossed until Tommy came into sight, their eyes met, he looked normal but tattered, she realised she took too long to come to the station. Tommy took a seat beside her still staring at her. She was suddenly reminded of the old Tommy. The drugs had worn off so his grey eyes weren't as dilated as they'd be when the drugs were taking effect. He looked at her with pleading eyes so she wondered whether he remembered what happened the other day. Tommy was seated but he still looked as huge, his brownish-blonde hair was all roughened now but he still looked good. It was his good looking smile that lady Jane got so attracted to. How could someone look so good just after coming out of a custody suite?. She started to have second thoughts while looking at his face, she couldn't mention going to a rehabilitation centre to him anymore. She therefore decided to let it go just one more time and once again, her subconscious warned but she ignored.
"You're free to go, Mr and Mrs. Hamford but be sure not to get in community trouble again, goodbye." the police officer concluded while putting the documents together. The couple stood up to thank him and took off.
Tommy got in the passenger seat while lady Jane started the car, her mind was full of thoughts, she missed the kids, she wondered if he missed them too? Did he want to see them too?. Her plans had failed, she couldn't suggest rehab in there and not in the car too. Its not that she's scared, she just has a soft spot for him, she knew it was a bad idea.
"What about Ellen and Evans?" he asked as he turned to face his wife.
"On a school trip." she blurted while she flinched, the only lie she thought of was ridiculous.
"What kind of school takes 8 yr olds on trips." he scolded.
"Their school I guess, what's bad about going on a school trip, are you being over protective right now?" she feigned a chuckle as she drove off with her eyes plastered on the windshield. "Don't worry, they're okay." she told him while giving him a sly smile. He fell for it.
"Let's just go home and rest while the kids are away darling." she concluded while locking her eyes with his for a moment. She couldn't tell whether he was being gullible on purpose.
They had a quiet swift ride back home. She was already carried away with the normal way Tommy had been acting since the police station. They both didn't want to talk about the accident that had happened. He took a shower while the lady humbled herself to prepare Colconnan for dinner, a dish he liked with microwaved bacon. She set the table then thought of how long it was since she made dinner. To her, it didn't feel like reality. The aroma of the flavoured mashed potatoes hit her nose. She admired her well cooked meal while she waited for Tommy.
After a while, she felt Tommy's big hands on her arms as he slowly patted her to wake up. She realized she had dozed off.
"You made dinner mhm," he mumbled as he sat on the opposite side of the dining table, his hair was slightly wet from the shower and he had no shirt on. The big house with not much sound and just the couple eating dinner together reminded her of the old days. She thought that maybe they could go back to the old days.
"Thanks for dinner." he gestured while he ate some more.
"You're welcome, eat some more, you must be hungry." she said while stuffing her mouth with Colconnan potatoes. She was a natural at cooking.
"It's atypical for you to cook." he joked as he watched her eat.
She got annoyed. It wasn't atypical for her to cook, she was just a busy person. She simply wanted a taste of a normal evening with a normal husband. She quickly cleared her plates and proceeded to the bedroom. Their bedroom. She laid down as she organised some documents in her laptop. Tommy laid beside her and the idea of them going to sleep together and waking up in his arms the next morning excited her.
Her thoughts were caught short with Tommy's lips crashing into hers ever so dominantly, his palms cupped her cheeks which had already turned beet red. She made way for his tongue as she moved the laptop aside before damage befalls it. His palms moved from her plump cheeks to her pink ears and then the smooth nape of her neck. He wasn't gentle but she followed still. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he topped her with his body wrapping her in whole. She could feel his veins erupting as he moved his lips to her pale white bosom. He planted kisses upon kisses till she started making strange sounds like tiny stray moans. He got more aggressive but she didn't like it. His kisses moved to her breasts as he started undressing her as hurriedly as he could. He pulled his pants off and flipped her over with his hands tugging her hair and then she was reminded.
He was the man who knocked her over after all. His hold was tight on her slender waist, she could feel his blood pumping and the bulge protruding just against the middle of her buttocks. it was as hard as it had always been whenever they did it. He pressed her head to the bed and held her hands together so firmly with just one hand as he inserted all of his manhood into her hole with just one ******. She screamed. He hurt her. She had stayed abstinent for a while and she wasn't well aroused.
"It hurts Tommy, stop it, it hurts." she begged but he made no attempt to stop. He just kept thrusting his cock into her.
"Hey, Jane, I know you always have one night stands with other men, why're you pushing me away, can't I have a taste too?" he hissed. The thought of his wife cheating on him angered him more than anything else.
"What do you mean one night stands? You think this is a joke? You're hurting me. Stop it. I mean it. Stop." he yanked on her hair and pinned her tighter.
"Shut the hell up, bitch. You left me in that custody suite to rot while you had your fun fucking those younger dudes. This is your punishment." he spat out like he had been waiting for this moment. She couldn't believe she let my guard down for the bastard, she even made dinner.
"Just bear it okay little Jane? I'm blue balled right now." he thrusted even faster and deeper this time. She held her cries but to no avail, no matter how much tears she shed, he didn't stop, he just kept thrusting deeper into her without pity, without consent. In other words, she was raped.
She was raped by Tommy.
He reached his peak while she laid there pinned to the bed with his juices inside her. She struggled to leave his hold but she was no match for him. He was trash. He wasn't even under the effect of hard drugs this time. He was fully aware. What did she do so wrong?. She gathered her emotions together and wiped the tears that stained her cheeks. She stood up from the bed and looked at him. It was fun for him, he didn't even use a condom. She washed up quickly and wore some clothes. It was cold at night so she made her way to grab a coat. He watched her every move, Her every step but said nothing. She left without batting an eye. She was glad he didn't stop her but where was she going? The other houses she owned were out of town and she hated hotels. She got into her car and drove off. She felt exhausted and stupid, she thought everything was finally going her way.
Unknowingly, she drove to the community where the hospital she got treated not so long ago was. She had no reason to risk this much, what if she got robbed or even killed? A flashy car at 11pm roaming the streets of a placid community. About 10 mins into the place, she sees lights, not street lights but party lights, it looked like a club or a bar. She stopped by and went in. What was she doing at a place like this just after getting raped by her insane husband?. All she saw were a bunch of drunk youths swaying their bodies to some dumb music. She thought to go back until she saw a bar separated from the rowdy area. She walked in there and laid low, she felt it would awkward for youths to see someone her age here.
"Some beer please." she blurted. All she wanted was to calm her nerves down and relax but hopefully her maybach doesn't get stolen.
"I'm sorry, my shift is over but you can wait for the next bartender." the bartender replied. His voice was rich and resonating, it was an attractive sound that gave her the urge to look at his face just to tell if he was also as attractive as his voice. He looked familiar to her. Huge with short curly ginger brown hair? A broken arm wrapped with a cast? Was this the man who saved her...?
It's him.
He's the one who saved the lady.
He's alive.
Something about the woman seated at the bar made the young bartender feel uneasy. She was beautiful with highlighted features. Her thick black hair that illuminated her gorgeous green eyes, firm long lashes that ascended as she blinked. He noticed everything about her but watched her discreetly as she adjusted her hips atop the 30" tall bar stool.
"Some beer, please." lady Jane requested but she was immediately denied by the bartender. She suddenly looked at him to observe his features. She slowly took note of his pvc wrapped arm. He was the one the who saved her at the hotel the other day, she realized. She suddenly felt sorry and had the urge to deny what she had caused him. She decided not to bring it up unlike how she had planned. She never thought this was how they were going to encounter each other. The night her husband had despoiled her, she felt nothing but good. She only had the desire to forget all her worries with the help of alcohol.
"I'll pay you for the extra time. I just need a bottle of beer." lady Jane said while she rested her right arm on the bar top made of fine glossy wood. The bartender's activities were cut short as he stopped to admire her plump pale lips and Greek nose. He couldn't help but gaze at the woman adorned with magnificent hips that guarded her slender trunk. She was like a goddess in human form. He was suddenly reminded of the female singer, Madonna. He knew she was wealthy by the way she requested his extra time with petty cash, he hated that he needed it.
He poured her a glass before he knew it. Just as she thought 'money controls people' but there was something about the bartender. She took the beer glass by the handle and took a big gulp and later flinched from the after taste. She was never a drinker, so what was a light weight doing at a bar ordering beer and not wine?
"It's budweiser. Is it to your liking ma'am?" he asked while he adjusted his apron.
"Yes, thank you." she nodded. She removed the purse from the inner part of her fur coat and brought out some cash to give the bartender.
"I thank you but this is way too much for just beer and extra time." he explained with a poker face staring directly at her. To her, it wasn't just for beer and extra time. She simply wanted to pay her way out of the guilt she felt, she couldn't bring herself to confess to him about the accident and the pain she inflicted on him the other day.
"Then drink with me." she ordered. She was already zooted only by drinking her first glass and he could see that or else, why would a rich lady ask a mere part-timer to be her drinking partner?
"Okay then." he agreed. He felt like he was being controlled for some reason. The way she sounded showed utmost confidence and the way she looked him in the eye gave him no reason to reject her. After all, it wasn't his shift and him too needed a relaxation. He brought out varieties of beer and extra glasses and he believed she was wealthy enough to afford it. He was petty but it was his lucky day.
* * *
There was little sound coming from the club not too far away and lights filled the area. Even with the little distractions coming from their surroundings, all they paid attention to were themselves. It was like they were old friends but they were only under the influence of alcohol. The young bartender now seated comfortably drinking with the lady with a fur coat on her thighs couldn't help but see how she shined brighter than all the lights in sight and the lady couldn't help but notice how the light skinned man looked incredibly handsome in a white shirt and an apron. At this point, lady Jane was completely sloshed while the bartender was just a little tipsy so he was aware that he enjoyed his time with her. They didn't even talk about anything meaningful.
"Ma'am, pardon my rudeness but I think you've drank enough." he finally brought himself to say those words. He didn't want to let go of the drunken time they'd spent together.
"What? But I have no place to go, can't I stay here till dawn with you." Lady Jane said as she took in another big gulp and rolled her eyes. He quickly snatched the glass from her, she was to drunk to even sit up properly, but even now, he still thought she looked pretty.
"I'm sure you have a house nearby, I'll take you home." he spoke while he held her by the arm to prevent her from falling. She snuggled to his touch like his arms were made for her. He was curious about her whole existence. Why did he feel so comfortable with a lady he just met? Why didn't he want time to pass? Why was he offering to take her home? He wondered. His thoughts were occupied.
"I'm not going home." she muttered. He noticed the somber tears that started to stain her cheeks. She was joyous just a minute ago, why did she feel sad now?
Without asking, he quickly knew that something was wrong, he suppressed the urge to ask and tried to calm her down.
"Don't be sad please, i'll contac--" his rich voice was cut off when lady Jane's lips caressed his lips sending signals of lust and asking for entrance. He stayed still in shock while she bit his lower lips as she looked into his light brown eyes. He gave her way because he couldn't reject after he felt her eyes pierce his soul. He got trapped in the kiss when he felt her midi satin dress spaghetti strap fall out of place, he was already aroused by her pale skinned shoulders and her bony collar bone, he was tall enough to see her body under the dress while they were sitting.
"La.. Lady, this is inappropriate, we shouldn't be doing this." he broke the kiss first and looked away avoiding her intense gaze. He was annoyed that her actions were completely out of the drunken state she was in and even more annoyed by the fact that he couldn't reject her.
"Why? I just want my assumed sin to be fulfilled. Can't you help me?" she sighed. Her eyes were completely filled with lust and her bottom throbbed with need. She wondered how she could feel so stimulated just by kissing, it wasn't even that long. She thought of Tommy's words and dissed them immediately. She just wanted to enjoy this moment, it was just going to be a one night stand after all.
His thoughts were strained. What did she mean by fulfilling her assumed sin? He couldn't put a finger on it, he only grew more curious, she seemed like a mystery to him. He couldn't make out words but she understood. She patted his right cheek and moved her thin index finger to lift his chin so that she could read him.
"Fine, i'll leave then," she gestured. "I'll wait outside but i'll leave if you don't come after a minute." she said as she wore her fur coat and left. The clacking of her heels overcame his hearing as he stood up almost immediately to leave his post. He wanted her as much as she wanted him. She didn't say much but he felt controlled, just what suited his taste. Today was really his lucky day, he met his perfect woman. He quickly said his goodbye to the other bartender and hurried outside to meet his Liebe auf den ersten Blick.
(love at first sight in German).
As he dashed outside and stood under the neon sign that illuminated the building 'HEINSBAR AND CHILL SPOT'. He saw her half seated atop the car bonnet just staring into the starry night, she illuminated his night since she was the only one in vision. He gazed at her and the moment she noticed him, she smiled. She looked like she was in a carefree world and didn't have any worries but that wasn't the case. At that moment, she just felt at peace. The night switched from a scary one with her husband to a peaceful night with a stranger, one that felt like a make-believe. He watched her mid-length hair move with the cool summer breeze and walked towards her. He now forgot that she was only acting out of mere drunkenness. He wanted to enjoy the moment and stay in the present.
He reached the back seat and opened the door. "My lady," he gestured as she got in and sat comfortably. He moved the drivers' seat but upon entry, he was taken aback by the tone in her voice.
"What are you doing? Come here." she scolded with a frown. He thought he was going to drive them both to the hotel nearby but it seemed like the lady was desperate, well, so was he. He quickly moved to the back seat where she was and sat beside her. He suddenly felt anxious, he couldn't read her mind neither could he read her face. Her emotions were completely masked unlike him. He wondered how she could look so composed and pretty when they were just about to get it on.
She took her shoes and coat off while he watched her. He didn't know if it was appropriate to do the same. He saw her bare shoulders again which aroused him more than he already was. It was just her shoulders but the bulge underneath him said otherwise.
"Don't just stare at me. Take your clothes off." she commanded him. He obeyed by removing the first button of his white shirt but the lady couldn't wait for him to finish. She used her two hands to grab him by the collar as her lips collided with his. He quickly brushed the astonishment of his face as he responded to her movements. The kiss felt so familiar, like he was meant for her and her for him. Their soft lips danced to the same rhythm as they both yielded for more. He began unzipping her midi dress with his hands gracefully gliding through her smooth white skin, he finally laid his hands on her shoulders, those shoulders shoulders he'd been yearning for since the very beginning, he caressed every bit of her shoulders as he desperately felt the desire to lay kisses on them. She unbuttoned his shirt and stripped him making way for his dignified torso. Their kiss deepened as their tongues were put into action. It was just a kiss but their moans and groans intensified with every minute that passed. She moved her hands to unbuckle his belt and unzip his pants which welcomed his hardened member and the wetness that stained his underwear. She felt the size and shook as she broke the kiss first this time. They gasped for breath.
"You're quite naughty uuh! Just a moment ago, you said this was inappropriate but look at your cock leaking and craving my touch." she teased. He couldn't even make out a word, he just needed to feel the warmth of the kiss they just shared and so did she. He made his way to her lips again as he slipped the dress down her beautiful curves, he glanced to look at her breasts. He loved the way her breasts were round and firm, he wanted to feel it. He suddenly regretted breaking his arm but that didn't stop him. He wanted to hold her and feel her every touch so he removed his cast as he flinched from the slight pain but that didn't compare to the excitement he felt from the woman who just rose to straddle him. She teased his cock with her index finger as it pulsed in response. His soft kisses moved from his lips to her shoulders with his fingers entwined to her hair. He was merely holding on to the pain she felt from his hard member. He wanted to be touched by her. He wanted her to sweetly ravage him. He took hold of her breasts and nursed it, he pinned and rolled her erect nipples which made her panties wet from the need. He sucked on them gracefully as she moaned to his every touch.
Were they really doing this, a one night stand?
He wasn't sure if he would be able to let her go after this night, all of his emotions couldn't go to waste. He wanted to keep her away from others, and all to himself. He groped her breasts and moved his hands to the middle of her spine and down to her gradient that connected her buttocks to her hips. The excitement she felt from simple touches made her move her hands faster on his cock. He groaned in response to her touch and wished for more.
He wished for punishment for feeling so much pleasure.
"Ple... Please choke me, my lady" his words were finally heard as he bowed in embarrassment.
Please choke me?
Why would he want me to choke him? she thought as her brows furrowed in response.
