Some saw twenty-four-year-old Arianne Larissa, who came from an affluent family and was extremely beautiful, as the epitome of perfection. However, as soon as she opened her mouth,her seemingly flawless image was mercilessly destroyed.

She disliked being controlled by others and was usually defiant.This is why her parents were growing increasingly concerned about her. While she was vacationing abroad with friends, her mother called her and asked her to return to her parents' house.She was irritated, but she obeyed nevertheless

A young beautiful woman was pulling her suitcase while repairing her sunglasses at an airport.Many people are admiring, curious, and jealous of her. Who wouldn't, after all? She had the kind of figure that even a model would kill for.Despite being whipped by the wind, her long hair was silky and delicate.

Her face was free of make-up.Her natural crimson lips were as lovely as a red rose. Her skin is fair and smooth.Her lengthy lashes resembled butterfly wings.Her hazel eyes were stunning, especially when the light shone through them, making them appear to be stars.

As she walked towards the airport exit, she disregarded all the looks. She stands at the entryway, waiting for her family driver to arrive.A luxury automobile pulled up in front of her a few minutes later. The driver came out to assist her in getting into the car.

He loaded her belongings into the car before returning inside and driving away.

She takes off her sunglasses and stares out the window on her way home. She was still irritated by her mother's insistence that she return home.

FLASHBACK

Her phone rang when she was out on the beach with several of her buddies. She excuses herself to answer the phone. She hid behind a tree. She takes up the phone.

"Hello mom. What is it?" she ask impatiently.

She could hear her mom sigh through the phone.

"Arianne Larissa,where are you?" Her mother said in her normal motherly tone, but if you pay close attention. Her tone is worried.

"I'm out with my friends" she replied bored.

""Again ? It's been a month since you come home Ari. When are you coming back?" her mom ask

Arianne sigh in annoyance.

"I just want to have some fun and freedom. Can't i do that?" she said as she is trying not to raise her voice.

She continues. "Besides if i stay at home,you and dad are gonna nag me again."

"This year marks your 24th birthday. You are no longer children. We were just concerned about you. All you do is go out and play. You refuse to work with your father at his company. When we asked if you wanted to continue learning, you responded no.What are you going to do with your life?" Her mother responded by lecturing her.

Arianne's patience is wearing thin as a result of her mother's statements. "Mom it's my life. You don't need to worry. And besides, our family is wealthy enough to support my whole life. I'm your only child after all." she replied back somewhat sarcastic.

Her mom sigh again. "Ari that's not what i meant. I mean who gonna take care of you after me and your dad are no longer here? Sure our family is rich but are you sure you can handle our fortune with those greedy uncles and aunts of yours? You're not even interested in joining the board of directors even when you had a share in the company " Her mom replied. Arianne was render speechless. What her mom said is true but she does not want to admit it.

She then heard her mom said again. "Come back home tomorrow no matter what. Or else just thought of me and your dad as dead people." Her mom said. Before she could reply,her mom hang up on her.

She jolted awake as the driver informed her that they had arrived. She exited the vehicle. She raises her eyes to her family's mansion. She then walked inside after walking to the door.

She is greeted by the housekeeper, who takes her jacket and bags.He stated that her parents are expecting herin the living room. She nods and walks into he

parents' living room to greet them.

She looks at the two waiting figures as she walks into the living room. One is a woman in her 30s who resembles Arianne greatly in appearance. The woman is her mother, Arissa Medellin, who is 45 years old.A professor who has retired. The man next her seemed to be youthful and attractive. He shared Arianne's hazel eyes. He appears distant and chilly on the outside, but he is soft on the inside.Michael Lewis, Arianne's father, is a 47-year-old prosperous businessman.

"Mom. Dad. I'm back." she greet them with a small smile. Trying her best to be polite and respectful.

Her mom smile warmly like she wasn't the one who force her to come home. "Welcome back Ari. You come home quite early this time" her mom said sweetly but Arianne know it was to get back at her for her sarcastic remark on the phone.Her mom is the only one she can't fight with. Despite her mother gentle and warm demeanor,her mother actually a woman who good at her words and know how to handle people. Arianne sometimes wonder is this how her mom manage to get her cold and indifferent father.

She glances at her father, who was only nodding in response to her remark. Despite their rather distant connection, she was more open to her father than to her mother.

"Dad you're not working today?" She focus her attention on her dad not wanting to argue with her mom anymore. She went to sit on the couch across from her parents.

Michael nods. "Yeah your mom said you are coming home today" he answered simply. Arianne just nods.

"I see" she then turn her attention to her mom who was looking at her without saying a word. It was somewhat strange and suspicious. Her mother isn't like this usually. She would usually start her lecture but now she seems list in thoughts.

"Mom?" Arianne call out to her mother. Her mother turn toward her.

She open her mouth. "Arianne there's something me and your dad need to tell you". Her mom said. This time her expression and voice are serious.

Arianne was somewhat surprised and was curious on what her mother was going to say. "What is it?". She ask.

Her mother look at her dad before turning back toward her.

"We had decided to get you married."

Arianne was stunned as her body froze in place. It take her a few minutes to process the information.

"WHAT?!"

She look at her parents in disbelief.

"Are you guys serious?" she looks at her parents in disbelief. "Me? Getting married? No way!". She disagree without hesitation.

Her parents look like they had expect this. Her mom speak up again.

"It's either you married him or work in your dad company". Her mom replied calmly.

"And besides, you wouldn't regret it if you see him." her mom continue.

Arianne narrow her eyes at her mother words. "First you threatened me and now you tell me i would like him? Who's this guy actually? Is dad company going bankrupt and you need me to marry his son's friend or something like in those dramas?" she said sarcastically as she cross her arms.

At her words,her dad glare at her."You think there is someone who can make me go bankrupt? You think I'm that weak?" her father replied clearly annoyed and offended that his daughter think he can easily be taken down.

Her mom looks at her in disbelief. "No stop your imagination. There's no such things. The person you're going to marry is someone your grandpa introduce." her mom said calmly. "And besides that boy is so sweet and gentle. Unlike my rebellious daughter." her mom said with a hint of sarcasm.

She looks at her mother in disbelief. "Even before I married him,you guys already on his side. Is he your adopt son or something?" she said in annoyance.

Suddenly, her mother pulls out something. She handed it to Arianne. It was a photograph of a man with short midnight black hair and crystal blue eyes. He is both nice and attractive. His expression is soft and warm.

Arianne took the photograph and carefully examined it. Her type is the man in the photo. She is particularly fond of attractive men. Who wouldn't, after all?

Her gaze turn back to her parents. She raise her eyebrows. "Is this him?"

Her mother nods. "Yes. Do you like him? We both make sure he suits your taste." her mom replied casually. She knows best how her daughter will first look at the appearance before anything else.

"And he also had a good career and clean background. All in all, he's a great choice." her mother continue.

"So Ari what do you think?" her mom looks at her. Her dad suddenly spoke up.

"If you marry him. Half of my fortune will go to you. You don't need to bother about anything else". Her dad said seriously.

Arianne was stunned. Her dad once said that if she didn't work with him,she would never inherited his fortune. But now because of her marriage to this unknown guy,her dad make such an offer? Who is this guy actually? What had he done to make even her stern father to change his decision?

She take a deep breath as she looks at her parents. She sigh. "Fine. I agree. So when is the wedding?".

Her parents smiles in satisfaction. Her mom replied.

"It's next week".

"Oh okay- wait WHAT?!." She looks at her parents like they had gone insane.

"Don't worry all the preparation had been done. You just relax and be ready to become someone wife soon". Her mom said before sipping her tea.

"No that's not the problem here". She sigh again. She now understood that her parents had planned all this perfectly to set her up from the very beginning.

It seems that she had to say bye-bye to her single life soon. She already feel herself having headache.

A week later...

Arianne recalls the entire week as a blur. She has no idea what happened last week. And now the day has finally arrived when she must discard the moniker "single lady."

She is seated in her bridal gown in front of the mirror in her room.She must confess that she looks lovely in the white gown.Let her be a narcissist for the day.After all, what bride wouldn't want to appear beautiful on her wedding day?

While she was appreciating her appearance, the door opened, showing her mother.She stepped behind her chair.

"My daughter looks gorgeous today." she said softly.She kiss her forehead lovingly.

"I can't believe you're already grown up." Her mother take out a tissue and wipe her non-existent tears.

She gives her mother a friendly smile. "Yeah thanks mum." She is quite excited about this marriage for some reason. She is the first in her group of friends to marry.

Her mom smile. "Now let's go. Your dad is waiting to escort you out to your husband."

Her father then escorted her to the altar to meet her spouse. She was nervous, but also excited. Her father then hands her over to her husband. Her spouse smiled and offered his hand to her without saying anything. She sees him through her veil. Despite her inability to see clearly, she perceives him to be incredibly lovely and handsome, precisely as he seems in the photograph.

The ceremony proceeded according to schedule. Finally, the moment has arrived. When the priest asked if she agreed, she said, "I do." When it came her soon-to-be husband's turn, he only nodded, giving her the impression thatsomething was amiss because she hadn't heard him speak up to respond.

The ceremony went ahead as usual. Finally, the awaited moment arrived. When the priest asked if she agreed to the marriage, she replied, "I do." When it comes to her soon-to-be husband, he merely responds by nodding to the priest's question, which makes her feel slightly awkward because he didn't speak out. She looks down at the audience to observe everyone's reaction, and what she saw makes her even more anxious. Everyone appears to be normal in his response.

When the priest asked him to kiss her to seal the marriage, her mind went blank. She remained motionless as she watched him approach her slowly. When he eventually appeared in front of her, she could smell his soothing perfume, which calmed her worried heart. When he lifted her shrouded face, she bit her lower lip.

He's stunning, with dark hair and even darker eyes. But those eyes, they were filled with the deepest compassion she had ever seen. She was so fascinated to it that she forgot how to breathe. As he got closer, she could feel his breath on her face. He eventually kisses her gently.

When he pulled away from the kiss, she snapped back to reality. As the people clapped, a bright pink tint covered her gentle cheeks. She hastily turns away from him when she notices his delighted smile at the corner of her eyes.

"Oh God why am I so embarrassed like a schoolgirl?! This is so damn embarrassing!". She thought feeling like an idiot. It's not like it's her first kiss or anything, and yet she felt flustered.

As he stood alongside her without saying anything, she felt his rough and warm hands clasp her tender hand. She looks at him from time to time. She's perplexed as to why he didn't say anything from the start. She wishes she could hear his voice.
