"The moon watched as she took her last breath, never to be seen alive in the same place ever again."
The children shared a look of sadness, all in the brink of bawling their eyes out as they all looked at the woman with adorable teary faces.
"Hahaha..." The woman released a small laugh, covering her smiling lips and she adoringly looked at all of them.
"My sweethearts, That's not 'The End' to it. Rest assured and sleep tight." She kissed their foreheads one by one, tucking them all in the same warm blanket.
"Mom, you're not going to continue the bed time story...?" One of them who's still awake, asked.
"No need to rush, there's still next time." She smiled, her heart and soul at peace as she watched her eldest son close his eyes and fell asleep.
She stood up and before she could turn around to face the door leading to the outside, multiple arms suddenly wrapped around her waist, hips and shoulders.
"My goddess... You're really the perfect mom and mate... Please bear my children." The one who's on his knees begged with a lovesick expression on his face.
"Be patient, Arius." She put her hand ontop of his head, caressing it gently with intense affection.
"How unfair... Give attention to us too..." The one who's hugging her from the back whimpered.
"He's right, Miya..." The third man said softly.
"Aww I'm so sorry." She coo'ed at them before she started showering all three of them with love which they more than willingly accepted.
"You guys did a good job taking good care of the babies." She complimented them and they warmly smiled at her.
Whoever beast decides to harm you and our family, we'd devour them alive and breathing before they do.
"So you've finally accepted everything?" He asked, a smile slowly forming.
"Yes, I admit. Are you now happy?" I responded back with a small sigh but I said those words with honesty, I crossed my arms over my chest as my wings stayed together, feathers slightly fluttering from the wind.
I looked upon countless of trees, the tree I'm sitting on being the tallest. I'm accompanied by a certain mysterious man sitting right beside me on the same branch, him being merely an inch away from coming in contact with my large wings.
We decided to meet up once again, this spot is usually our meeting place. We are currently having a conversation as we watched the beautiful scenery.
"I'm relieved. I can finally say "Welcome to the world, Miya." to you." He looked at me, his eyes half lidded as if sleepy and the corner of his lips lifting up to form a small smirk. It doesn't look like he's mocking. In fact, he looked quite happy but lazy.
"Well I appreciate you for saying that." I said and he released a brief laugh.
The first time I opened my eyes again in this world, Instead of the moon, I was greeted by a suspicious man. He had introduced himself and somehow, He said that He is the moon.
I would have believed him when he said he was the moon, for the white hair and nearly silver colored eyes that he has and the immensely majestic appearance and unmistakable powerful presence that he possesses.
But I wasn't that deranged, so I slapped him away and oh boy, the man who looked chill and sleepy turned to a hurt, now very wide awake man.
I almost felt sorry, almost. Because I'm in an unfamiliar place with no knowledge on how I got there in the first place. The suspicious person that I was with might be my own kidnapper and might be actually plotting my demise.
The last thing I remember was minding my own business by the lake with countless fireflies quietly flying around in the surroundings, it's so quiet it makes you fall asleep if it weren't for the fact that the surroundings are breathtaking while you bathe in the moonlight.
And after all that, I can't remember even a single thing except for the luminous moon in it's full glory.
Somehow, He had convinced me that he's entirely harmless, at least to me.
The day I discovered the fact that my eyes had turned color red, I was so frightened to the point of transforming into something different, I guess the sudden burst of emotions caused me a change.
I turned to a goddamned raven, and it isn't a common thing.
I don't know how, but I did. That moment made me doubt everything, thinking all of it was a dream. But it was all too realistic to be what I thought of, and I also am not the type to stay doubtful for too long.
I have read more than enough fiction about the same situation I'm in. It's certainly fantasy. It could be an isekai reincarnation or whatnot.
After a few more days and weeks after I opened my eyes to a new environment, I have discovered new people who are the same as me.
They can turn into animals at will,
Just like me.
All of them are males though,
But they don't have the same situation as mine, they are not human beings who are unknowingly brought here for mysterious reasons.
I guess they're... Monsters? Not in a way to insult them but more like I'm trying to say that they are similar to a skinwalker rip off or werewolf? Maybe demi-humans will do too.
Calling them hybrids wouldn't explain the whole thing and it's just plain stupid.
The world I'm in is certainly not Earth, everything is put on a stone age-like setting of an era,
But more on the fantasy genre side.
I've thought long about it and one thing came to mind,
This might be a beast world.
I'm not certain if it's a novel or a story that I somehow travelled in just like in those Fictions I've read. In most beast world novels I've read, it usually has the plot of "Overpopulated male world" and females are rapidly decreasing to near extinction, they have to have many males as much as possible.
If beastmen here find out about my rogue existence, especially that I'm definitely a female who might be actually homeless, they might force me to have a harem or give suggestions to me with such intensity and seriousness.
In the worse case scenario, I might encounter the type of ferals that are dangerous and merciless. I have to prepare myself about that, I certainly don't want to become a baby machine for those rotten men.
The thought of it makes me shudder.
"What are you thinking about, Hm?" He calmly hummed in thought, gently nudging me and I looked at his direction, blinking twice before I snapped out of it, getting frightened at our closeness and accidentally making my wings spread like a startled chicken.
In result, he got slapped away by my right wing, literally getting yeeted away from me.
Dumbfounded, I watched him disappear into the many small trees that are positioned right below and silence befell upon me for what felt like eternity before I heard a rustling at my left and I glanced toward the direction and there I saw him ruffling his hair to get rid of the dirt, branches and leaves that had gotten stuck.
"I'm so sorry.."
"I'm alright, You might have to... Put away those wings next time."
I immediately made my wings disappear, as if it's never there in the first place and I stood up, careful not to fall while walking toward him.
I inspected him for injury and I didn't notice his half lidded eyes watching my every move like a hawk.
Thank goodness I didn't hurt him that much.
I sighed in relief after making sure before taking a few steps back and I sat back down and he did the same thing, though this time our knees are touching.
"How are you and your Raven friends?" He asked calmly.
"Oh those beast people? They... Took me into their tribe, they aren't Ravens like me though." I answered.
"I suppose they are Crows?" He asked again and I nodded.
"If you're worrying, stop it. They're kind to me, maybe except for a few, some of them doesn't accept me as a tribe member because of my differences. My wings are just more bigger and My color is just more pitch black, nothing near jet black colored feathers, but what's wrong with that?"
"Females cannot transform into their animal forms, don't-"
"I'm aware of that." I told him softly. "As I've said earlier, stop worrying. I don't have a death wish, alright? Not a single soul saw me transform or saw me spread my wings out while in human form."
"It's a relief." He said before leaning his head ontop of mine, I don't want to get stiff so I settled my head onto his shoulder.
"Hey."
"Hm?" He hummed.
"Let me sleep for a moment, don't move." I mumbled before closing my eyes.
"That's... my line." He said but never made a move to stop me.
As I walked around the village early in the morning.
Amy, who is a beast woman and a mother of five beamed when she saw me, she happily waved at me to come over and so I did it out of politeness.
"Hello, Miya! Here, take these." She said with a smile, handing me a basket full of berries. I was surprised at the kindness she displayed once again.
She is the first beastman I met in this world, she's also the one who suggested that I should be apart of this village after finding out the fact that I don't have a place to stay. She was kind enough to do so.
She managed to get me in without any trouble except for a few stares and whispers here and there. No one dared to stand up against her for she is the tribe's one and only heiress.
If she is this kind then her parents must be too, they are the ones who raised her pretty well after all.
Of course, I wasn't disappointed. I met her mother and one of her fathers, and I'm free to say that they are kind and generous people but are definitely not easy to take advantage of.
"You don't have to do this, you know? You did more than enough for me." I said, frowning but grateful as always and she laughed, patting my shoulder in assurance.
"It's fine! The moment I took you in, You're one of us now."
What she said made me silent for a few seconds before I smiled at her.
"Thank you very much, I mean it."
"And you are welcome!"
It's a relief that I met her, or else I'd be struggling in the wild, all alone for quite a long time. Of course, a certain someone comes to help me at times but I got an inkling that his time here is limited and is always just a busy person despite having a lazy demeanor.
I felt a change in the air and a winged beast landed right beside her.
"Oh, Honey!" Amy smiled, kissing the top of the beak of what I think is an eagle, a real massive one.
Of course, all male beastmen have bigger beast forms than the normal animal. I have learned a long time ago that these normal animals that aren't capable of having such high intelligence such as ours are considered to be the preys.
So basically, it's normal if a wolf beastman hunts a wolf animal, even if they are the same type of animal. If you like to call it cannibalism, then be it because it's kind-of.
But there is one thing I'm sure of, Beastmen are completely different from prey even if beastmen are basically animals in a way. They are superior, much more bigger in size and are capable of thinking.
Just like a human can do.
"Amy, John had finished cooking back at home and the hatchlings are missing you already." Her mate said and I felt awkward as I stood before a lovely couple.
"Oh, right! I'm also missing them." She then turned to me with the same smile forming on her lips.
"Miya, Have a nice day, I hope you'll like the berries." She then said goodbye, sitting at the back of her lover and they both took off, flying back to their home sweet home.
I was greeted by silence as I stood there, now all alone. It's still very early in the morning, so only a few villagers were awake.
What was I doing again? Oh right, I was only taking a morning stroll since I love the fresh cold air in the mornings.
I sighed, I miss my electric fan and refrigerator back at home.
I decided to continue walking, this time toward my current home. I wonder what kind of berries did she gave me...
My walk towards home wasn't that long, in fact, it was quite short. I sat down on the wooden floor, right infront of a table and I lifted the tiny cloth from the basket to reveal the many berries that are inside.
I was delighted when I saw raspberries and grapes, she gave me a lot of it and I'm more than thankful.
"I guess I don't have to hunt for lunch later, this will do..." I mumbled to myself, a smile on my face and I noticed something else while looking at the berries.
"Hm? Why is there a flower in here?"
I picked the flower up carefully, it wasn't that big enough for me to immediately notice it. I do admit that the tiny flower looks more than pretty.
Maybe Amy didn't notice the flower when she was putting the berries inside...
But the question is, How did it get in here in the first place?
Nothing thinking much about it, I immediately moved on, placing the basket and the flower on the wooden table before I stood up from the floor, I failed to notice the blur that passed by outside my window.
