Help.... Help me.... Hufff hufff (damn I can't breath am I really going to die while drowning) these were the words I was stating to myself.

I was trying hard to swim unfortunately both my legs and hands were just tapping on to water vigorously but all the efforts were just nothing at the end, I was about to close my eyes helplessly as my vision got blurred and blinking desperately to open and I saw something is swimming towards me is it shark?  No is it human ? I shut my eyes assuming I was gonna die.

Mary....

Mary....

(Opens eyes instantly with face filled with sweat)

I woke up from the bed and sat hurriedly with fear.

It has been more than 3 years yet still why do I get same dream again and again why can't I remember anything after that? Who was it that saved me ? How did I end up on the sea shore where I was in middle of the sea drowning helplessly.

There were so many questions to my life but none of them had an answer or I could say it is just my imagination as I was indulging myself in thinking a loud voice came from the living room calling my name as Mary... then I started to get ready and went to have my break fast.

Why do you always get up late? It's beginning of your second year try to be more responsible said by my mother.

I pretended not to hear anything and left for the college.

Hey Mary... where were you come let's go it's already late said by molly my female bestie and childhood friend.

Molly and me ran to the class before the professor enters and finally we made it and as we were chatting

and waiting for our  class, a kind of pain stroke through my heart just like a pin piercing gently and I could hear a foot step sound I raised my head towards the door as if I was waiting for someone, I saw a handsome boy I could say he is not a human just from the first sight because of his fair skin and his blue eyes with brown hairs gobbled up everyone's gaze at him just like watching an angel.

Although he was handsome enough to attract people but he also had a cold air around him and everybody can sense it too, the reason was simple he didn't introduce himself and just looking at window side by his left without bothering professor words as he was being introduced by him I saw his eyes in a blink of second he saw me and again changed his gaze to other side.

At last he went to seat back of the row alone which was quite astonishing everyone including professor since we had so many seats in front yet he went to sit alone.

I looked back just to catch his face once again because I felt I have seen him somewhere but also I didn't feel like I know him while he rolled his eyes towards me and I saw front as pretending innocent.

His name is Jack, he transferred to our college today and as a class representative I need to take care of our class members since today is our first day of new semester everyone has to join for the tonight party but… but I’m scared to call him I feel there is something feels that he is distant to us.

As the class over I looked back to call him over but he was already passing the door, I ran back of him.

Jack!!! As I called his name near corridor he stopped walking for a sec but never turned back or responded to me, to my surprise he continued to walk forward by ignoring me.

I walked and stood in front of him signing him to stop by stretching both of my hands, he was glaring at me made a bit of chill auro between us, I sighed..

Hi I’m Mary!!

He was just staring at me without saying anything and this made me bit awkward.

I’m the class monitor , Can you come to the tonight party? It’s for the entire class including our professor.

Why is he staring at me like that? I can’t say it’s blank stare there is something like hatred gaze but I never met him before even if I do have I done something wrong to him? I can’t say this words out all I was speaking to myself in my mind.

As our conversation was interrupted by other class members asking him to join.

I could see he doesn’t like to speak with anyone and other boys hands were on his shoulders they doesn’t mean any harm to him rather just being friendly but this made him uncomfortable.

He shoved everyone and passed though us sideway then professor stood in front and stopped him.

Where are you going ? Everyone are so enthusiastic to know about you… come let’s go for the dinner. Professor was gently smiling at him but I feel it was a kind of controlling him and he didn’t agree nor he rejected and quietly came with us to the restaurant.

Everyone were chilling out in our world.. I secretly took a chance to peek at him and he was sitting without saying a single word.

He went out, later sometime I went out for some air and saw him smoking and looking at the starry stars.

Are you feeling ok? I think you have transferred from other city and it takes time to adjust here no need to worry we all will be good to you I said him with no harmful intention as I really didn’t want any of my class members feel sad on top of that he is new comer too but he ignored me.

Why are you so quiet ?

Again he ignored me , I cannot tolerate this kind of attitude and decided to walk away and snow started to fall l, everyone on the street enjoyed the view as it was surprising during current season and I caught a snowflake showed to him and said don’t you feel happy seeing the snow?

He pretended didn’t see or hear me… walking away as I was about take a next step my leg slipped I almost fell to the ground instantly I shut my eyes tightly because I knew I can’t escape from falling.

Wait I didn’t fell some one helped me I opened my eyes and saw it was him jack..

His hands were around my waist holding tightly so I could stand firmly without falling.

How did he get to know I was falling ? He was walking front how could he sense someone from behind ? I couldn’t stop thinking about it and at the same time my eyes were locked to his eyes we both didn’t change our gaze to any side all we were just staring at each other blankly .

His brows were tilted then released his hands and I fell to the ground … how could you do like this? I shouted at him.

He hurriedly went back by driving his car.

What the hell? He is so strange by saying that I went back to the restaurant.

(Other side jack while driving his car)

Why is she here? Shit I hate her !!! How did I helped her again this time .. I hate it I hate humans why doesn’t father understand me ? And sent me here said by jack to himself while driving rashly.

Jack reached his bungalow then threw himself into swimming pool which is present inside his room with secretly built indoor room.

His legs turned to huge blue fins, his pupils turned to blue as a blue jade shining color and he was in the water for more than 1 hour.

Why are you angry? asked by his dad

Jack came out of the pool and sits beside it with poker face.

The girl we saved in the ocean.

As jack was saying his father was shocked.

I think it is a fate that made you to meet her again.

Can you please stop this destiny fate whatever!!

His father took a deep sigh!! Continues with his conversation I saved your mother back then and we fell in love who knows you both will fall in love one day .

Jack got triggered by his father words, how could you say it as love ? Mother left you and me when I was just 2 years old!!

You suffered because of her and you are preaching me about love gosh!! You are unbelievable.

His father gently smiled at him.. well it was my fault I didn’t tell her I was merman and married to her then gave birth to you… surprisingly you have a power that when ever you want you can change yourself into merman or human under water unlike me once I fall into water I turn into merman that is how I got caught after 3 years of relationship.

So what if you are a merman? Didn’t she love you before? What about me I can feel it how she made weird face when she saw me when I was 4 years old…

I never gonna believe this humans they never accept us dad said with sad tone.

Don’t worry everything is gonna fine here I wanted to transfer you due to your lack of communication with humans unlike in previous place where you had both merman’s and humans but you was only with mermans friends that is why you have to be here atleast for a year and be among humans.

You are really a monster said by jack and coming out of the pool.

I’m reminding you never fall in love with that girl I don’t want you to suffer like me.

I’m not stupid like you to believe humans said by jack with smirked face and left.

As jack left his father was saying to himself I want him to communicate with people and understand the fantasy of love between humans but I hope he should not fall in love with human.

As the night passes based on jack past story with his father.

(Next day in college)

What?? Shockingly came out of Mary lips when she was speaking with professor in his cabin.

I understand you might feel out of space with him since he is new joinee and bit silent boy but I hope you can sit with him and help him with the studies as he had other format of syllabus in his previous college.

I’m sorry sir I can’t be with him .. he has a very bad

attitude with poker face which makes everyone uncomfortable around him, as for me we don’t share a good viba since yesterday.

Sigh!!

genious of the year competition going on?

Did you get a partner? Asked by the professor with mocking tone.

No!! I’m still searching but seniors are not ready to join with me and our class is bit backward on studies.

Hahahah mocking laugh by professor.

Jack is no 1 student in his previous college and won the national award for mathematics competition and competition requires 2 candidates said by professor like a business deal to me.

I heard he doesn’t like competitions but may be you can take a chance with him ? If you make friends with him and he might agree to enter with you to competition.

As I was thinking professor words was like a big offer for me since I want to enter this competition to gain the scholarship for higher studies and internship in abroad company but I wasn’t sure about the situation and went to the class.

I looked at him while walking to my place as usual he stared at me with dead gaze and turned his head towards window side.

Oh my god!!! How am I gonna make him to agree to join with me..
