“Hey Zoe, I’ll go to the rest room first, why? you wanna come and help me clean my ***?”( I answered while smirking 😏)

“Grows!!!,stay there and lock yourself”,(she grimaced at the thought).”who would dare help you clean your ***??!Even your fart smells like hell why bother helping you??!!”.(she shouted)

I was too embarrassed to snap back a remark when the students looked in our direction,they looked confused hearing what my friend said I immediately grab her hand and run towards where there are not many people, dragging my friend while she was protesting.

“Don’t talk shits in front of students, remember we’re teachers so in order for us to be respected by kids we shouldn’t speak nonsense”.(She chastised her friend, who looked assuredly shame faced about what she just blurted out.)

“Ok² but promise me one thing,you’ll be there”(she demanded fiercely.)

“Okay² I’ll be there just give me 10 minutes,now I really need to go to the restroom,I wanna pee”.

I didn’t wait for her respond and run I’m about to pee but she’s still talkative.My headphone fell of my neck,I didn’t even notice that I bought it today.I took it and continue to go to the restroom.While I was walking into the bathroom, I suddenly slipped because of the stupid bar soap,I bump my own head at the sink and my headphones got wet, not just my headphone but also me, Luckily I didn’t get an amnesia,

“Ahhh!!!!!!!”(I shout) suddenly a woman about 20 years old came out,she didn’t even help me like heck.”why is my day so unlucky?”(I shouted)knowing nobody’s around that time, as I wiped my blood on my head I heard a noise,it’s like someone is crying,” ahh whatever”( I deigned to ignore it.)

first I didn’t care because I thought it was some kind of prank that the students did so  I ignored the sound and thought that maybe they connect it on the Bluetooth speaker,

I started to fix myself but the sounds starts getting louder and louder , I couldn’t control myself and yell “I command you whoever you are to turn that off right now!!!” I said thinking that maybe the prankster would come out , but the sounds got even worse than before. So I decided to follow the sounds and open each door and found nothing but when I open the third one I saw a baby girl with a pink hat on its head. I didn’t immediately know how to react but the baby starts crying even more so I didn’t have a  choice but to pick the baby quickly even though I’m wet, the baby is still crying but the problem is I don’t have experience how to care for a child, I decided to make a funny face but the baby cried even more.Am I that ugly I jokingly said to the baby , who tilted it’s head at me as if it can understand and made a cute little confused sound.I burst out laughing seeing how cute the baby is☺️. As I composed myself to  find my phone to alert an emergency contact from the principal Mr.Valdon L. Santos but I suddenly remembered that he is not in his office but on his leave. So I went to the control room,which is the closest,and turned the P.A system on to say, “to whom this may concern, a child was left in the bathroom, please come and take the baby in front of the lobby because we’re gonna wait over there, please and thank you”

But time  passed and nobody came and claimed the baby and I was starting to feel uncomfortable truth,the baby was abondoned. I decided to take the baby to the nearest hospital called   “affidable “ to treat the baby, as it looks like the baby was freezing. Then a nurse approached and then led us to a room.

Hi ma’am are you the guardian of the baby? The Nurse ask.

“well for now yes, I’m miss Sophie deguzman I found this child in the public restroom of my school and I didn’t have any choice but to Bring her here because  it looked pale ,is it ok if I’m the guardian for now? Just treat the baby  and I’ll look for a way to find her biological parents and also would you please guard this child because I have a call to make?” I said this all in one breath surprisingly.The nurse looked taken aback and had to spend a few seconds to process my word vomit while I tensed  impatiently. Finally she replied,

“Ok  maam just wait here for a sec, another nurse will come and approach you for the child because I have another patient waiting assigned to me. Thank you for your understanding” to which after she left, understanding my ***, I thought as I wait impatiently and shushing the child in random intervals

(15 minutes passed and a guy in white coat came.)

“Hi ma’am are you miss Sophie deguzman?”

“Uhm yes, may I know who you were?”

My name is Marcos a trainee here, Mrs. alletha xyza told me to come here and find Ms. Sophie deguzman so that I could guard her daughter or not.

“Ohh , so she sent you here”, Sophie said.

“Yep, ma’am Aletha told me to watch over a baby, your welcome in advance cuz it’s not that tight today so it’s no problem!! I’m from child’s care ward , so I know what I’m gonna do , so don’t worry!!” Marcos said, slightly bouncing in excitement.

“Ah , then thanks for…..this,” he snickers at my apparent inexperience. Humiliated, I hurriedly said, “ Anyways! I’m just gonna go and find this baby’s parents.”

I was already reaching for the doorknob when somebody else beat me to it and opening it quickly. Startled , I looked where a tall man stands who caught his surprise and composed, clearing his throat. He is wearing a white coat that immediately identifies him as a doctor , ‘ and pale as a sheet of paper’, I thought.

“Are you the guardian of the child?”, he asked after he glanced inside. I

“ I-well yes, temporarily”, I timidly said, slightly intimidated by his no nonsense attitude.

“Let me check the baby first she looked pale, what happened? ”he says as he enters fully and beelined to the baby.

“Well , all I can say is  that I found her on the floor of our University’s restroom”, I answered in the obvious eyes of the doctor and Marcos remembering. Then I added as an after thought. “And don’t worry over the cost ,I’ll cover it just take care of the baby.”

“Very well, ma’am Sophie.” He nodded, “It seems the baby caught a cold from laying on the floor long enough.”

“Is it serious? How bad is it?” I asked the doctor , fidgeting and worried.

“Well it’s not that serious so no worries, from what I see in the child, she’s quite strong.” He assured me.

I smiled in relief hearing his answer, then continued to go outside the hospital, leaving the baby in their care.

Later, I’m standing in front of a police station where one of my cousin works. Her name is Natalie Thompson, 35 years old, and married to an influential man in uhhh….slightly illegal circles, slightly. A gang leader , well strongest gang leader here on their country, his name is CHRISTOPHER VIL THOMPSON, he is different from other gangs, other gangs do killings without reason and even use drugs just to make money but Christopher only do killings if there’s a perfect reason, like if the person has a biggest sin committed, so if their caught the penalty is death, and they always catch them, and also they don’t use drugs instead they catch the ones using and selling then and tip them to the police with compiled evidence, even if there’s a government support , no one can stop him.

I decided to enter the police station and directly go to my cousin’s office since I already knew were it was.

Knock³

“Come in,” a female voice answers crisply. I opened the door and enter just as she swivel in her rolling chair, and lightning up with a smile.

“Hey sissy what brings you here? Isn’t it working hours right now?”, she tilted her head to the side curiously, baffled at my appearance.

I hesitated then drew myself up , suddenly the air that was light and relaxing earlier vanished and replaced by a somber atmosphere, “ I need your help.”

I explained everything that happened and she sent people to investigate, she also ask me if there’s a CCTV on each floor, most especially the 2nd floor where I found the baby. I confirmed it and she told me to go and make sure the baby is alright while they investigate the University, and she’ll call when they find the results after. So I travelled back to the hospital after 4 hours of being held up in the cramped space of the station.

When I left earlier , the baby looked pale and cold, but when I arrived I see the cutest smile that lit up like a ray of sunshine , playing with Nurse Marcos.

Narrator pov.

Five days passed before we knew it, and we found the mother. She was Victoria Wright  , a maid working with the Corendia Family. But she died awhile later after an explosion destroyed the house she was in that time. Nobody knew the cause of the explosion, even the police who investigated it, what with the house being obliterated completely. The investigation was pulled to a stop, since she doesn't appear to have any family, blood relation or not, and in the case of the Family Corendia, not every single one of them gave any respect or care to the dead.

I talked to my cousin, Natalie, about adopting the child instead since in just this month they have her in custody. She considered it , and later in the day she told me her decision about adopting the baby, even her husband, Christopher, agreed to it enthusiastically. Then the process of paperwork after that was smooth because of her position as a police with a license for emergency adoption being convenient.

(alarm sounds)

"**** that's loud, who the hell set my alarm up?," I , the great Sky, rolled over my bed and attempted to reach over my bedside drawer where the loud ringing sound is coming from. Keyword attempted, I missed by a few inches and slammed my hand againsts the edge of the drawer instead. I snatched my hand back and groaned in annoyance and burried my head on the pillow in an attempt to ignore the alarm blaring in my ears.

It didn't work.

So I dragged myself up on my bed miserably, and properly reached for my alarm and turned it off. When I saw the time I stilled for few seconds then resignedly grabbed my phone, deciding to just call my best friend for company.

My phone beeped as it connected, hearing some rustling sounds like clothes shifting, I asked,

"Hey pheria,where are you now?", as I talked I set the phone on speaker and got up and out of the bed to prepare for today.

There was a yawn before pheria, my best friend,answered,  "Well you just woke me up , what're you calling for anyway?", then her voice pitched in a teasing tone as rustles sounded in her end of the call, "What, you missed me or something?".

I rolled my eyes so hard she must have heard it and huffed as I enter my bathroom , leaving my phone on a nearby chair just outside the door.

"The hell are you talking about, why would anybody miss that ugly face of yours", I replied with no actual bite in my tone , instead it came out fondly exasperated.

"Damn that hurts, what's the reason for calling anyway?",she said again.

"Let's meet up and wait for me at the gate , so at the very least we arrive late together, since Im gonna be late myself today."

"I gottcha my friend, there's only twenty minutes left until classes start" , I was gonna open my mouth to reply when she made a victorious sound as she rummage in her drawer, the sound clearly heard in the call. "Also,also,also you gotta bring me some chocolates for appeasement , neh?~ ".

I giggled and agreed,

"Yeah,wait for me ok, gotta go bye."

15 minutes later and I'm all done, all I have left to do is to eat breakfast then Im good to go. I went down the stairs and see my mother with her morning coffee.

She saw me and waved for me to come closer, and I quickly do so.

"Good morning honey, what took you so long? Your late already", she frowns in admonishment at me. And I looked away in a pout and replied to her, "morning mom, sorry , I overslept again, but anyway what's for breakfast?".

"Oh no,honey. Your father didn't have time to prepare for you, since he's been in a meeting since earlier" , she said apologectically.

"What?!", I said in higher pitch than usual. "Does he think that his work is much more important than me?!".

Her mug clinks as she put it down on the table, and wave in dismissal to my question as she stands up to head to the kitchen." Honey, your overeacting. I'll do it myself."

"But mom! You know how I like papa's homemade food", I whined quietly. She stops in her advance and sighed as she turned back around to sit back by the table. "Then I'm calling him if he's done with his meeting yet, honey, so sit by the table and wait."

"No need mom ,I'll go there myself", I resolutely stood up and went to the shoe rack, and wear my jogging shoes. She jolts up and out of the chair in surprise," Do you even know where your father's territory is? Wait, honey! Don't go there! Your father's people haven't been told of your identity and connection with your father yet."

"Don't worry, mom. I can take care of myself."

She sighed in tired exasperation and sat back in her chair. Tipping her head back and massaging her temples, she replied, " Fine then, honey. How do you even know where it is anyway?".

I turned and smirked at her as I said, "Heard it when he was on the phone with someone while I was going downstairs, gotta go then mom."

I went out and in the garage to start my black scooter my father gifted me, and went to my father's territory called Mightmaw.

Arriving twenty minutes later in Mightmaw, parking my scooter in the parking area and speedwalking through the gates 'till I reach the door. I was gonna open it when I was beated to the punch as it opened to reveal, relunctantly I admit, a handsome guy wearing glasses.

His eyes narrows a bit as he smiles in a charming way, I was a bit stunned but quickly realized that the smile was masterfully fake.

"May I know who you are? And what such a young lady doing here??", he said.

"I'm looking for my dad, where is he?", I glared up at him, a bit miffed with the guy's attitude.

His smile widened and he looked down at me as if I'm a child who's lost and don't know what it's saying.

"Oh honey, I don't think your dad is here. But I have some time for fun with you instead, how about that?. I could point you to the direction of that gate, maybe."

This guy is really patronizing.

"Hah sorry but I don't have time for you, you stinky monkey," way to go sky, I thought.

I had thought previously that we were the only ones present,but now, as I hear snickers and laughing, I realized that I was sorrounded with people.

"Hey monkey, ahah.",the girl with a pink and black hair teasingly said in glee.

The glasses guy glared at her. He looked at me in annoyance in his eyes, his handsome face twisting in a macabre scowl. At that point I had relaxed my guard down , which was a mistake I realized after he suddenly slapped my beautiful face, but I just giggled in realization that his slap was really weak. The other guys had started to looked at me weirdly, which okay, understandable 'cause people don't normally laugh in a situation like this. But I can't help it though, he has the audacity to touch me like that, I wonder what the consequences of retaliating are.

"Why are you laughing honey,not enough for you then?",the guy asked, twisting properly to look at me and loom over me in a clear tactic of intimidation, though I was hardly fazed by it. I looked at him with a small eager grin , which made me look a bit manic, as he saw this, the glasses guy hesitated briefly before slapping me three more times, spit started to acclimate in my mouth and I spat it directly in his face in response. He recoiled in disgust and surprise, stumbling a few steps back and the people around me straightened up in surprise and shock, which made me grin widely than before.

"Woah! You ok there,honey? ",I ask gleefully as I approached him first.He grabbed a fistful of my hair that was hanging by my shoulder, I slapped him three times for repayment on his face, his face turned red like a tomato from the force I'm applying to it. He let go of my hair in instinct to grab his face, with his lips staining a bloody red. He looks angry now, I dont feel apprehension for what would happen right after like I should.

"shit! Let me kill you now ,*****!", he said screamed angrily.

He grabbed my left wrist but I punch him on his face using my right arm that made him passed out from the force. My knecklace was grabbed and cut off from the pull some guy attempted at, and it only made me mad because it was a present from my mother. All the people that was just on the side watching everything happen suddenly sorrounded me and started to come at me. Some guy with a piercing above his eye who was holding a bat was the first to reach me, but before he could hit me with it , I grabbed the bat and swung my whole torso and with the handle still opposite of me, hit it at the side of the guy's face and making him stumble, so I kicked his legs out and pressed the bat to the side of his neck while I pin him chest down.

The other people was gonna charge at me once more after they got off the surprise, when they all stopped and simultanously paled at hearing a familiar shout from the top floor of the building, and yet I didn't falter and continued to pressed the bat further on the guy's neck , which I obviously know was losing his hold on his breath and weakly struggling to no vail.

"What's going on down there!",the man who shouted previously repeated angrily.

"Who dares step foot on my territory," he growled in our direction. "And where does the sheer audacity this person have to cause an annyonce on my walls."

"I dare father!",I shouted up at him with a pointed look. He looked surprised when he heard my voice and located me at the center of the chaos. He didn't seem to expect that I was the one causing this chaos. " And WHO dares not cooking my breakfast when he knew that it's my first day of back to classes",I continued.

A brief flash of 'oh shit' expression on his face before he conposed himself, but he still looked slightly apprehensive as he look down from the window.

All the people wore bewildered looks before one of them starts laughing and the rest joining in, dad looking even more apprehensive as he stared.

"Hah! Acting like you're the Boss's daughter right in front of him? You're dead." Said the guy who slapped me earlier. I startled slightly, I didn't even noticed him thinking he was out of commision with the blows earlier, I barely stopped myself from punching him again as he leaned closely by my ears as he said, " Wished you'd have come to me earlier, you wouldn't get hurt if you did."he grinned maliciously, and yeah, **** no, and I punched him in the gut viciously and he keeled over from the pain, I was gonna hit him with the bat next 'cause I still wasn't content with earlier when somebody took it and grabbed my shoulders to whirl me around , and it was dad who was previously on the highest floor of the building. I blinked at him surprised as he looked like he jumped of the window to meet me. Then he hugged me and I was engraged once more and started hitting him on his sides.

But he still hugged me tightly without feeling any pain,well I know he's used to it, whenever I'm upset he hugs me and I keep on punching his side so maybe he's used to it by now.

"Calm down honey", he said while patting my head. And he looked at his people and glared at them.

"You fools, how dare you hurt my daughter?! Y'all want to taste what hell is like?you guys have a death wish do you?"He said angrily.

I squirmed out of his grasp and looked at the people around me to realize the their all bowing their heads in apologies to what they did, but since they did a terrible mistake by breaking my favorite necklace I didnt feel sorry for them. So I screwed my face in pout and cried crocodile tears at them.

"What's wrong honey ?!",my father asked looking worried.

"They ruined my clover necklace that mom gave me for my birthday!!!" , I turned to look at my dad with eyes wide and flowing tears and cried harder. My complete 180° clearly startled them.

All of them looks nervous especially the guy who broke my necklace which was Mr. Pervert the glasses man.

Dad's face darkened even more in anger amd he released me in his hug and started advancing on his guilty people saying something to them tersely but quitely, their reactions changed right away where they were scared to downright terrified, paling to white sheet with sweat dripping down their foreheads.

Dad said something to them again but I can't seem to hear it with how softly and calmly he's saying his words, despite that , I could still clearly feel his dark anger with the way his knuckles turning white for clenching them so hard, looking like he's second away from swinging his fist and creating bloodshed. But he's clearly restraining himself for my sake, which, okay but I kinda wanna see the beatdown, dissapointing he's not letting me though.Dad finished his talk with his people and turned his attention back to me.

"Honey I'm a little bit busy, would it be possibke to order only today for your breakfast?"
