Supposed to be a mysterious world of ours, happens to be even more mysterious than we have ever imagined. The world is full of undiscovered mysteries indeed. Even the existence of us humans has only been limited upto some theories. The world changed drastically throughout the centuries after the evolution of humans. Humans acquired intelligence and used that intelligence as their weapons as well as their shield against their stronger predators, ultimately getting on top of the food chain. Humans were never the strongest but the smartest beings. They used their heads surviving the stone age and leading us to the point where we stand firmly enjoying the results of our ancestors deeds. We should be grateful.

It's the year 2097. The 21st century has been declared as the century of science. The world is being modernized with each new invention. Theories are being turned into realities. Line of discoveries seems never-ending. We humans sure have come a long way from where we were before.

It was a hot sunny day of june. In a construction site, a worker  found a capsule. The capsule was round in shape and lustrous. The capsule was coated with some miscellaneous chemicals. When a worker tried to pick it up, his hands suffered a second degree burn at instant. It was a severe burn. They didn't take any risk and handed over that capsule to a laboratory nearby for thorough research. It took seventeen days for them to nullify the chemicals which was coated around the capsule. After neutralizing the coated chemicals, they found that it was locked with a highly advanced coding system. It took decoding crew seven whole days to decode it. Inside the capsule, there was a notebook with a black cover saying "A Second Chance" on its front cover. They went through the notebook and found out it was actually a journal of someone.

JOURNAL

DAY 3

It is the third day of my tour to an unknown time period. My time machine malfunctioned and brought me in this unknown time. I don't know why but I thought I should write a Journal to keep a track of my life in this strange time. To be honest, I'm also uncertain about why I am writing my journal in English. Maybe because I have just learned it and wanted to try it. I found English is the most common language of this era. With my drutz trexp, it was a piece of cake to grasp this new language. I'm currently surviving with only my emergency food pills which I estimate to be enough for roughly forty two days.

The surrounding looks pretty similar yet pretty different. I can't tell. The time where I'm from is vastly advanced than this current age. Looking around my surroundings and observing such unadvanced facilities, I thought I mistakely went long back in the past. But when I checked my time machine's travel history, it suggested that I leapt 650,000 years in the future. It is certainly a display error. This time machine model can only leap upto 15 days in the future or in the past. So it is pretty unusual if I am this much back in the past too. Or maybe I am in different world line. I have read about the famous theory of repulsive world line. It says during the time leap, it is possible that we may face a point where the path forks, giving us a choice among future, past and multiple world lines. It's consciously impossible to choose according to our own will, instead our mind unconsciously chooses a random path leading us to either a different time or in a different world line.

From observing perspective, time leap seems like a blink of an eye but actually it is the bending of time of time machine including 5 cm of radius around it which means the air within the 5 cm radius of time machine will also travel through time along it. But the thing is the passenger inside the time machine won't age whereas the things or beings caught up within the 5cm radius of time machine will surely age. From my observing, the theory might be true. I maybe in different world line and I might never be able to return back home. It maybe one reason I am writing this journal with such unworldly informations. The year here suggests 2030 whereas the year from where I leapt was 2312. The past which I have read was nothing similar to this. Maybe I am in different world line. But still I am hoping I will be able to repair my time machine so that maybe luckily, just luckily I will be able to return back to my own time. Just a hunch I guess. It is a complete new world for me, might as well learn more about it then.

DAY 7

I am still unable to repair my time machine but I am progressing bit by bit. I have hidden my time machine inside a cave somewhere in the hill. I camouflaged the cave similar to its surroundings. I am slowly getting used to this new world. Time travel does not even exist here. I visited libraries and read tons of books with my drutz trexp. They call themselves as humans. Humans are the dominating beings of this world line. Humans seems like an unpleasant disguise of us Evct. They looks pretty similar to us with some less developed body structure. Their ears are pretty small in comparison to us. Their face resemble pretty much of our young child. Everything around here is way less efficient and time consuming. Everything that we have discovered is still limited upto theories only.

The day seems a bit longer here. This world has a different units of time calculation than ours. It is currently what they called summer season. It's pretty hot during days. The nights are pretty noisey. I don't want to violate the time leap rule so I shall observe this world thoroughly without messing up anything here. Thankfully I have my kriocrt which helps me to be unnoticed by others.

[NOTE : Time leap rule is like a law that has to be followed by the time traveller. They are not to allow change the past nor to change future but to just observe. You might be wondering what if someone does mess with time thing. Well, to make it certain, travellers are armed with a neck band which is openable only if travellers are in their own time. When a traveller tries to disobey the Time Leap Rule, the neck band tightens as his action approaches ultimately collapsing his neck if it came to the last resort. If something does change the past or the future, the numbers in the Headquarters will fluctuate. The bigger the fluctuation in decimals the bigger the disturbance in the time order. They'll detect it right away and proceed the required actions if necessary. Regarding those risks, time travelling license is only provided to some of the trust worthy ones.]

DAY 15

It has been 15 days since I've been living in this new world. I've been observing and wondering here and there for a week undetected. Humans still uses three means of transportation; land, water and air. Looks like teleportation can be found in stories and movies only. The trading system runs very tideously. They called heuphor as aeroplane here. The current version of it here resembles one of the oldest models of my world. The vehicles and the roadways are pretty much unmanaged. Wildlife is completely different here. The number of species are a lot higher here. Humans population has crossed seven billion, 2 billion less than ours. Atleast internet here is pretty much handy. I explored it and it was more or less an informative explore. I learned whole bunch of stuffs clearing some of my doubts.

DAY 21

It's my 21st day here and I finished repairing my time machine yesterday. I'll be testing it later in the noon after assuring everything is all checked. I'm hoping it won't malfunction this time. I don't want to be trapped in this lousy world forever. Luckily this model has a feature called 'last-leap' which allows the user to get back to the time from where he leapt the last time. It's pretty much like undoing a leap. Even if it is a leap of faith that I could return to my previous worldline or not, I should try atleast. Maybe luckily I will be able to return back home.

21 DAYS AFTER RETURNING BACK

Hey! This is Zutelk. Unlike you humans, we don't have surnames. If you are reading this journal then you must have nullify the chemicals that I've coated to safeguard this notebook. I hope it didn't take your kind to neuralize the chemicals more than 20 days and if it has caused your kind some harm then I apologize for it. Breaking the code must have caused you some effort I guess. Well, it was necessary to do so, so that it would remain secure and unharmed. At the beginning, I was clueless why I was writing this journal in English but it makes all sense to me now. If my calculations are accurate, it should be year 2095 or around it when you read this journal of mine.

As you know I tried to time leap back to my original time and wordline. Luckily, it was a successful leap. I got back home without any trouble and I was very happy. Then I kicked back and relaxed for the day and enjoyed my day off with my family. So the next day, I went to check upon my time machine. I first checked its time leap history and it says

It was unusual. I examined each and everything of it in my lab. It was working perfectly fine so the displaying of such numbers was rather odd. I ponder for hours and decided to leap again. First, I tried leaping two months for confirming and it was a successful time leap. I was so amazed. It was a genius invention even ahead of our time. After a full thorough examination, I came to a conclusion that it was actually a defective piece resulting into a world changing invention. I carried my time leap research while keeping it hidden from others and continued it for a whole week. As I continued leaping through time, I soon found out that I could time leap upto 80 thousand years ahead in future but not in the past. And yeah I also found out that with every long time leap, it affects my senses like vision and hearing problems. Well, it's only fair enough because everything comes with a price to pay. Later on, I soon discovered and witnessed a tragic fate, a massacre of our kind (Evct) by the hands of the mother nature. Yeah you read it right, our kind will extinct after 1500 years ( 1523 years to be more precise ) from the time I'm writing this journal. The nature will punish us Evct for our selfish desire of taking only without giving any care to the nature in return. We know everything ,and I mean everything regarding saving nature but sadly it limits upto talks only. It is sure to say that my voice won't be heard by anyone because it is the fact that everyone knows, no doubt about it. They knew it is wrong yet they ignore it but deep down I know they feel the guilt. And I can't expose this time machine to this cruel and selfish world. I can't even imagine what they will try to achieve if I ever did, feels godly huh. Well, I will honorably accept what future holds for us and dispose this time machine for goodness sake.

As I was saying, our whole kind will vanish from existence from this world. It is a tragic prophecy which is certain to happen. After the extinction of Evct the Earth will slowly heal itself as the time passes and luckily after 60 thousand long years of Evct extinction, a new intelligence will evolve and start to re-dominate the world as we Evct did. The era of domination of humans will begin. Evct and humans are alike. I've got only one thing to say, don't make the same mistake as we did. Maybe it's a second chance granted by the mother nature and probably the last one.
