In the town of Aegina, there is a mortal named Thalia. She was a very hardworking and determined girl. Because of these attributes, Artemist the goddess of the hunt catch her interest, so she decided to give her a gift. The gift of incredible beauty, she assumed that when she grew up, she would be like all the other women that would want to easily find a husband. Unfortunately, for Artemis, when Thalia grew up, she didn't have any interest in finding a husband. She wanted to be free and live life doing what she wanted. She did not want a husband telling her what to do all the time.

Artemis saw this and was about to forget about Thalia , until she realized that her gift was so powerful that every man who saw her would fall in-love. They would be awfully persistent in winning her affections, and if Thalia couldn't defend herself, they could end up hurting her or worse. Artemis couldn't let this happen, she would be known as the goddess who gave a mortal a harmful gift. After a while of planning and thinking, Artemis created a magical bow and arrow. With one shot, this weapon could be used to turn someone to stone. She sent this weapon and explained to Thalia what the weapon would do and how to protect herself using it. " Thank you for this protection, but I don't think I will ever have to use it." Artemis, who was already thinking of other matters, ignored Thalia's feelings and figured she would change her mind in time.

Time indeed did pass, and when Thalia go to the village to buy some goods. One bold man approach her and ask to marry her, she kindly refuse but the man is so persistent. She ran away with panic when she looked back the man is running behind her because of that she pick her bow and fired an arrow to the man, the man turned into a stone. That's why from now on she always carried her bow and arrow.

The next day, while walking in town,she notice a beautiful dress in the window of a clothing shop. Thalia went inside, she buy the dress and was assisted by Leon a kind handsome guy." Im glad i didn't have to use my bow to him, he's so nice" said by Thalia. From then on Thalia will always go in the shop, to see Leon cause she find him interesting and his attitude. They become good friends and she even said her secret about the gift and the bow. Thalia and Leon became close friend that later on develop a feelings to each other and become a lover. On their date they were happily talking to each other. Leon said" after we got married you can finally thrown out your bow and arrow as you will no longer need it". She laughed and said"yes, once i become your wife i will not worry anymore about men who wants me to become their wife ". Suddenly a thief apper from the shadow, Leon fought with the thief. Blinded by fear and anger Thalia get her weapon and shot the thief but the thief pulled Leon as a shield. He was shot in the heart and turn into a stone. The thief ran away. Thalia cried her heart out, she look at her bow before breaking and throwing it far.

In her despair, she walked to the edge of a high cliff and sat down. She began to cry, for the one she loved was dead due to her own hands. And her cries could be heard all around even down to the village and her tears began to spill over the cliff and down to the bottom of the mountain. Thalia would never be consoled and was never seen by anyone again. Some say that she still lives around the cliffs where her only true love was slain, still crying in everlasting sorrow.

And if you ever have a mind to, you can travel to the village of Aegina, and high upon the cliffs you will see "Thalia's waterfall." Many believe that the waterfall is Thalia's continuous weeping for her Leon.
