Prologue

Miss Mitsuki? Miss Mitsuki where are you? Your mother is going to get mad again if you don't show up right now!
Called repeatedly by our maid as she tries to find me.
Mitsuki
Baba-sama is really fun to annoy! Her frantic voice is just music to my ears!
I giggled as I tried to be silent.
I'm just 13, and I really like escaping from this mansion and go wonder around!
It's been countless times that I got lost but that served as my lesson to familiarize the places around and learn about the secret passages.
My mom and dad just gave me too much of freedom. Or more like they're too busy to give a care about what I do.
Well it's not like I hold grudges on them. I love my carefree parents a lot. And whoelse would I get that from?
My mom is a housewife who like to organize everything at home. Well, most of what she does is flower arranging and socializing with other rich women in the society.
While my dad is always out of the country, working nonstop for weeks, meeting directors and many more which is beyond my comprehension.
I actually adored him for that.
He took me once when I was 6 at his work. My memory is vague but I remember how everything there feels like fairy tale with all the glittering and shimmering.
Everyone's busy and I found that really fascinating. But he stopped taking me there when we migrated, he said he was too busy now.
I admit I'm a little upset because he didn't have much time for us. He spends too much of his time on work.
Nevertheless, I still really want to become like him one day, a successful business woman!
But now that I am restricted to go in my dad's office, I decided thag I will just find my own journey now!
Then it was at that time that I first met him.
It was a sunny day, yet the breeze was blowing hard that it cools my damp skin.
I can never forget this day.
I was on my way to escape the mansion but suddenly I bumped into a guy.
I don't know if it was just the brightness of the sun or there's a problem with my eyes but I really saw him shining before my eyes!
He has a fair white skin and he has slightly sharp eyes that seem so strict, he's taller than me and it seems that he's older too.
And the way he looks at me, I feel like I'm going to melt.
He said with his maturing voice. It seems that he didn't really noticed me based on how shocked he is at the impact. But he quickly recovered and just stared at me.
"Gosh, he looks hot!" I said in my head.
It's rare to see guys like him here but my journey is far more important so I left him then and there.
But who is that guy? And how did he get inside of our estate?
Oh whatever, it's not like I care.
I headed straight to the forest that is part of the territory of Tomaru Estate. That's the route I have to take in escaping without any guards noticing me.
A few more mintues of walking, I kept taking left and right turns to avoid some bushes until I reached the giant wall fence.
I prepared the ladder before time so it's not a problem.
This wall is the end of hundreds of hectares of the Tomaru Estate. And behind this is the highway that leads to the city.
But the thrill starts only from here! One ride from the bus and you'll see a market stalls which you can find anything, from different things like house wares to different kinds of food which is sold by the kind people from nearby town. This market is also connected to many restaurants and mini shops. There are a lot of stalls which stretches a few meters away that is full of people buying.
Vendor
Oh Suki! Are you alone again today?
The ice cream vendor asked me.
Vendor
You're still young but very independent! Here's your favorite.
She handed me the strawberry flavored ice cream.
I said as I handed her back the money. A cheap price for a very delicious treat!
After I strolled around the place, I went to my favorite convenience store where everything is there. The smoothies, junk foods, and books! In front of the store was a playground where a lot of kids are biking and some are doing skateboard exhibitions. There is also a basketball court where there a guys playing which is very entertaining to watch!
And all of these were the major reasons why I choose to escape the mansion everytime. But I would comeback immediately after I've satisfied myself. I love the atmosphere outside our giant walls but I know that I'm still a teenager and I can't afford to put myself in danger if something happens.
But that was the last time that I went there so happily because when I was back at the mansion...
Mitsuki
Oh no! I took so long at the market. Mom might get mad at me when she sees me.
I said worriedly as I hide on one of the pillars of our house.
Mitsuki
But why is it so silent here? Oh my! What if my mom's fed up with my escaping? I don't want to get grounded!
I went immediately to the master's bedroom where my mom is probably at to say sorry. But before I could even open the door, I heard someone crying.
And I'm very sure that it was my mom. I went inside and saw her crying on the floor.
I immediately went to her side and hugged her.
Mitsuki
Mom, what happened?
She stopped speaking as she starts crying hard again. I've never saw her cry like this. My mom is a very strong woman who never shows her tears. This is what she taught me before as well. A woman needs to be strong for her husband and her children.
But now... I don't understand what's happening. And it's hurting me seeing her like this.
My tears starts dripping too.
She caressed my hair as she continues to cry. Then she told me something that made my world crumble...
Kyoko
Suki, your dad is dead.
I was really shocked. Then my mom explained that he got a heart attack while he's on his way to Peru. My mind went blank at all that happened and it's like my brain can't process everything that she's saying to me. Then my tears just bursts and I can feel my chest hurting as I repeatedly called for my dad.
I didn't leave the house for how many weeks after that day. I didn't want to leave the house knowing that my mom will be alone with the maids and guards. I know she's very lonely and grieving from our loss. I just don't wanna leave her on that condition. We try so hard to move on but it's hard...
My Great Nemesis
Months had passed since we mourned for our loss. Mom started to do flower arranging again. But I can still see her looking at dad's picture everyday.
While me... after many months of staying in our house I decided to finally go out again. I visited the same market, and as usual it's packed with lots of people making buzzling noises.
But I feel like something is different, is this place really like this? Why is it before, everytime I come here all of my problems and worries vanish? Before, I get so giddy whenever I hear the buzzling noises coming from the people, it makes me feel free.
Why doesn't it make me feel that way now? I still can remember the pain of losing my dad.
I wanna see him one more time...
In the middle of the market where there are lots of people passing by, I sat on the floor crying.
Someone went to me and asked me if I'm lost, where my parents are. But I didn't answer anyone, I just continued to cry.
When I'm done from my usual escape. I went home and what waits for me was the start of this story.
The interlude of my hell.
As I came back, there were 4 black cars in front of our mansion. I went inside to know what is happening.
I went inside our mansion and saw my dad's bodyguards, they were the exact faces I saw before with their sunglasses on. But why are they here?
Kyoko
Oh, Suki, finally you're here.
Mitsuki
I'm sorry for coming late Mom.
I am still a daughter of a conglomerate after all, even if I'm like this.
I sat down across her. But what are they doing here?
Kyoko
Suki, pay attention here.
She said as I she saw me looking at the bodyguards. I can't help but to stare at them, I mean they look like walls sorrounding us.
Mitsuki
What's the meaning of this mom?
Kyoko
I'Il go straight to the point. You're going to marry the man who will succeed the Tomaru Empire.
Huh? What did she just say?
Mitsuki
Come again mom... Marry?!
Kyoko
Are you becoming senile? Yes, I said MARRY.
Mitsuki
Wait! Before that! Succeed the Tomaru Empire? I thought I'll be the one who will succeed it?
I raised my voice angrily.
Kyoko
Yes and don't raise your voice at me Mitsuki Tomaru.
Mitsuki
I'm sorry mom but I think your decision is just way too absurd.
She looked at me with her sarcastic look. We'll, that's mom.
Mitsuki
Yes and you can't force me!!
I shouted as I tried to run away.
But before I could even get to the door...

This was your dad's last wish.
I stopped but I didn't look back, I started to run again. What kind of shit is this? You just died but now you want me married? I was not looking at my way because I'm too lost with my thoughts when I bumped into someone again.
I looked at the person who said that, and to my surprise it him again. The hot guy I saw days ago.
Wait I don't have time to fantasize someone right now.
Takumi
Miss, are you okay?
He asked while staring at my face that is drenched with tears.
My tears just continued to flow. I'm so pathetic!
He then lead me outside to the garden. He stayed with me until I'm alright. Well, all I did is burst all my negative vibes to him. I told a lot of bad things about the guy they want to me to marry, about mom, and my dad... I felt bad saying this but...
While him, he just stared at me and when I stopped taking, that's when he opened his mouth and told me some advice.
The entire time we were together he made me feel so at ease. I don't know but, he's giving me different feeling that I cannot explain.
Anyway, I still don't know what his name is and more importantly what is he doing inside our estate? Again?
Oh my! What if he's a burglar?! A handsome burglar?!
I looked at him and he just stared back at me. Then I finally asked him...
Mitsuki
Are you a burglar?
His facial expression was priceless! He was so shocked at what I asked. His mouth hanged open.
Am I wrong? Damn! This is embarrassing.
Mitsuki
Did I guess it wrong?
He just gave me a slight smile.
But before he can explain himself further, the bodyguards spotted us. I planned to run away from them but he held my hand. At first, I thought that he was going to take me away from here like a Prince Charming...
Well, I was wrong. Because he pushed me towards the bodyguards!
The guards then got a hold of me... and I looked back at him to know if he was seriously handing me to the guards. And as I looked at him... he's smiling!!
My fantasies for him didn't last long because of that. Instead, I kept thinking why he did that and who the hell is he really!
I was so worried about a petty thing that time, that I didn't thought of the greater problem that lies before me.
I was thirteen and I met him, my great nemesis.

Oh my, Takumi! Where did you run off to the other day? I thought you can finally meet my daughter yesterday. Don't tell me you were influenced by just observing her.
There's no mistake, that's my mom. I am at the staircase when I heard my mom and a guy talking.
Takumi
Auntie, don't be like that. You know that she just likes to explore a lot. Knowing how curious teenagers can be at that age.

Three, you're not allowed talk with strangers. I assume you know the reason why.

Four, do not say carelessly that you are a daughter of this household.

Five, if you need something, just tell me, I'll provide it. You don't need to go to the mall to shop anymore. The mall will go to you instead. If you want to eat high class cuisine, the restaurant will go to you. But if you really insist to go out, go back to rule number two.
Takumi
Six, always say my name if anyone asked you who is the master of this house and the president of Tomaru Empire.
Takumi
Lastly, you're not allowed to object me whenever I commanded you.
Takumi Tomaru. He's originally from the Fukuzawa household but after his mother died, his father married another woman. His parents never got married, she was just a woman his father had an affair with. Even after she bore his child.
The child was Takumi, who was only 2 years old back then, an illegitimate child of the household. His father decided to send him outside their manson to live with the maids.
While my dad saw a great talent from Takumi from when he was growing up, so he took him instead and gave him the Tomaru surname and everything he has now. End of my research.
I am only thirteen and we are in the visual room while this idiot Takumi is discussing his rules for me.
I flipped over the table.

Are you stupid?! Who in the sane mind would follow those stupid rules! Are you making fun of me? I am not your damn doll!
He said in a serious and firm voice.

Then are you planning to turn me into your slave and shut me in the mansion forever?! What kind of life would I live?!

Takumi has been staying at our mansion for how many weeks now.

And he's the main reason why I my urge to escape the mansion has heightened. I'd rather live with the monkeys than to be with him in that mansion!

I was bursting out all of my problems while I'm on the park near the market.
When someone approached me.
It was a girl in her summer dress. And she seems to be around my age. She was looking at me and she smiled.

I'm fine, w-who are you?
I was stunned. It was the first time that someone has approached and talked to me in the park.
Tabitha
I'm Tabitha, how about you? What's your name?
Base on her look, she's just an average girl. Maybe she's from the town nearby.
Then Tabitha sat down beside me. And she held my hand.
Tabitha
You're so pretty! Even your dress is very pretty!
She said with amazement and she looked at me from head to toe.
Tabitha
Would you like to be my friend?
Friend? This is the first time that someone asked that to me. I didn't have anyone to call that. Everyone in that big mansion were adult who are very serious in their jobs. If there is someone close to me that would be just my dad, but he's out of question.
I said and nodded with happily with Tabitha's offer. And as I agreed, she hugged me.
Tabitha
"Yay! I will go here at the park everyday so I can see you okay? By the way, where do you live?
Mitsuki
Okay! I live there on the first gated house that you'll see along the highway.
I said as I pointed the direction of our house.
Tabitha
Really? That's your house? I've always wanted to see the inside of that palace! Can you bring me there sometime?
Wait, oh no! The monster might see her!
True to her words, Tabitha really went to the park everyday and we played all day long. She also toured me in the nearby town where she lives.
I never told anyone about Tabitha. It's not like anyone would care. Until...

Mitsuki, when are you bringing me to your palace?

Uhm... you know it's really dirty in our house right now.
I tried to make an excuse as I didn't want her to be seen by that monster.

What does he mean? Then I looked at Tabitha who's trembling in fear.

Tabitha said in her softest voice.

She said as she dashed towards the front door.
I was supposed to chase her but Takumi held my arm.

Seems like her father is an employee in one of Tomaru Empire's affiliates. But don't get me wrong, I didn't told her to leave you.
He went near me and leaned towards my left ear.
Takumi
I just told her that once she showed her face to me, I might consider firing her dad. Funny right? I just said l might consider, I never said that I'll do it.
I slapped Takumi for that and his irritating smirked faded.
Takumi
I've been monitoring all of your movements, from the mansion up to that dirty little market playground of yours. And everything I saw that I didn't like, I made sure that I got rid of it.
He said in such an intimidating aura.
Mitsuki
Why are you doing this to me?!!
My voice was so loud I think everyone in the mansion has heard me. Even the maids came but they were ordered to leave by Takumi.
Takumi
This is all for your sake, ny damsel in distress...
He whispered in my ear while looking down on me. He was about to caress my face when I fended off his hand.
Mitsuki
I SWEAR! I WILL NEVER MARRY YOU 'TILL THE DAY I DIE!!
