My name's Elise Francisco, i'm going to be 23 years old in two more months
I work in a small musical café that's quite popular in the street
I have light blonde hair that reaches my waist and light blue eyes, nothing special, really. I'm just your typical blonde girl who likes to play games all day and not waste my time with negativity
As in looks, i'm not too beautiful nor near ugly either. I'm a bit above average which i'm proud of

"Excuse me, i wanna order?"

"Alright. What would you like, Sir?"
Customer
"Can i have a blueberry cheesecake and a black coffee?"

"Alright Sir, please wait a moment. I'll get your order"
Working in the café as my job is amazing! While i get to work with kind people, i enjoy working this job as i get to meet various new faces
And those new faces often helps me with my future and goals, but most of them are old people. Still, i don't mind much because i adore old people for their sweet personalities

"Oi Lisa! Here's the order for uh.. y'know the uh, uh..."
Here's my friend Aubrey, the gorgeous yet forgetful woman. She has light brown hair that reaches her chest, her eyes are also light brown too
The first time we met eachother was at this café, we were both trying to find a job because of our own personal reasons
Fun fact about her: people would often mistake her with a disease because she sometimes would act very childishly. But inside, she's a mature person who's just struggling with her own personal problems
She's a person that i could count on my tough times, she may not look like it, but she's surprisingly a wise person inside

As a small giggle comes out of me, i took the tray and gave a wink at her

Blinking twice, she then gives a grin and a thumb's up before she goes back to the kitchen

She also likes to change my name from time to time, it was annoying at first but i got used to it

"Now, this has an Irish and a blackberry cake.. where is it?"
As i scan the room, i try to think of what customer could have ordered this

"Oh right..! It was this one"

"Excuse me Sir, here is your order"

"Hm? Ah, yes. Thanks little girl"

"Your welcome, Sir"
As the man takes a bite of the cake, his eyes soon lights up
As i look at the satisfied smile, i smiled too
It makes me happy, knowing that new people likes our food at the first bite
'The secret recipe is really something else'
My life is as any other normal broken, dropout college kids. So nothing special really happened to me after i dropped out of school
To any of you wondering why i dropped out, the simple answer is because i need money
As i run back to Aubrey, i noticed there was a frown on her face

She looked like she wanted to tell something but hesitated
She then activated her puppy eyes, making me wonder what she wants
But i soon realised what she meant

"Just get back to work and let me carry the food"
As soon as i said that, she gives me a big smile as she slaps my shoulder, hard
But with me being used to it, it almost didn't hurt at all

"Adams, What did i told you about slapping people?"
Did i forgot to mention that she likes to slap people out of nowhere?
She tilts her head as if she didn't knew what i meant

"What are you talking about?"
'Damn, people like her really triggers me so much'

"Just gimme the trays Adams, we're wasting time"

"Oh uh.. ahaha?"
She laughs awkwardly as i raise a brow
She then steps back and points her finger to a mountain full of trays

"What the hell...."
There were around 15 trays to serve to, and they didn't had any notes to them
'I repeat, no notes on sight'

"Seriously Aubrey?! You're giving me THIS much to serve?!"

"Welp! Best of luck to you, nerd!"
She then runs away to the kitchen, leaving me behind to serve the trays, alone. Again.

She has her own ups and downs, and sometimes, her downs are very hard to deal with. Especially when she's on her period

In this café only Aubrey, Mrs. Worthy and i were the ones working here, since we never really thought of applying another worker
Sometimes, the three of us would talk about recruiting another employee and agree on it. But in the end, we never did

"Good job, everyone!"

"Wahoo! We did it!"
Beside Aubrey, there was Mrs. Worthy, sitting so elegantly as she kept her signature, warm smile
Mrs. Worthy, a gorgeous woman in her 30s who is single because she's been divorced by her husband at an early age, making her a target by many men. Whether it be old or young, she would always be looked at because of her beauty
Her full name is "Athena Christian Jenika Amarisa Worthy". But to make it short, we call her Mrs. Worthy instead
She has the personality of a sweet angel that came from heaven, but once you get her mad, she'll become something near a devil
'Damn, sometimes i wish she would actually try to date someone'
It bugs me that she doesn't want to start dating again, even though she has a son to take care of
But nevertheless, she's a strong woman. She earned my respect because of how she lived and she's my role model which i look up to
She would often give me some quotes about life (that i am really grateful of), and i'd always keep it in my heart because they got me through tough times

"Elise? Elise dear?"
Shaking my head a little, i realised i was trapped in my own thoughts again
I saw Mrs. Worthy giving out a sigh as she places her hand on top of mine

"Sweety, is there something wrong? You were drifting off again"

"Huh? Oh no Mrs. Worthy! Nothing's wrong! It's all good, i was just thinking on whether to feed my dog or not"
She then gives me a slightly confused face
Mrs. Worthy
"Dear, why would you think of feeding your dog? Of course you have to feed him"
'Oh.. oh damn, my brain cells weren't working again'

"Alice, Alice. You're such a goofball"

"Shut up, Adams. I don't need your comments"
She says as she puts her hand on her chest, as if she's having a heart attack
I roll my eyes at her acting
Mrs. Worthy
"Kids, come on now. Let's start our talk, shall we?"
Every time we finished work, the three of us would always talk and listen to eachother. We would always talk about our problems and we often would try to give out advice to help one another
It's like a small therapy session or a warm family gathering

"So, do any of you want to say something?"
Aubrey Adams
"Uh.. to be honest, nope. I got nothin' to say"

"Uh.. same with Browny. I got nothin' to say either"

"Oh.. that's a pity, i also don't know what to say also"
No one said any word, continuing the silence in the room
Soon the atmosphere felt a bit awkward, we were all just staring anywhere other than meeting our eyes

With my attempt of trying to engage a conversation, both women looked at me

"Well yeah, but we only talked about it. Not actually putting any effort to recruit an employee"

"And weren't you the one that's supposed to design a banner for recruitment?"

"You even volunteered for this, Adams. You also promised us"
Mrs. Worthy
"Aubrey, you should keep your promises. This could also be a good chance for us too"
Mrs. Worthy
"Aubrey, are you-"
Aubrey Adams
"Alright, fine! I'll do it tonight!"
Aubrey sighs and turns her head, crossing her arms while huffing
'Well, that's one problem solved'
Mrs. Worthy
"Aubrey, you remember the plans we talked yesterday, right?"
Aubrey Adams
"Yes, Mrs. Worthy"
Mrs. Worthy
"Good, Elise?"

"Huh, me?"
Mrs. Worthy
"Yes, do you have anything to add? Or maybe contribute anything tomorrow?"

As i start to think, i unconsciously scratch my chin

From what i know, most people these days are trying to find a job. But we don't know if they're competent to do this so..

"If we get many volunteers, we should do a small test for them"

"I've seen most kids these days are trying to find a part-time job, but they seem incompetent in my eyes"
I'm not one to judge based on appearance, but i'm only taking caution because most kids nowadays would steal money from their own jobs
I remember seeing stores being robbed by teenagers in the news once, it made me fear that one day this place would get robbed too
I can't afford to make a small mistake that'll break Mrs. Worthy's heart

"So, you're implying that we should take tests to see who's going to get the position?"

"It's doesn't hurt to try, but where did you got this idea, Elise?"

"You mean about those stores being robbed?"
Mrs. Worthy

She then brings a small smile, trying not to ruin the mood

As i plopped on my bed, i heard quick and small footsteps from the door
I quickly grabbed the bedsheets and covered myself, pretending to be asleep or dead, whichever you choose
As i felt my body getting stepped by 4 legs, Snow started to grab the sheets with his teeth
But with me being persistent, i held the sheets as he struggled to take it off
'Hehe.. not today, buddy!'
Suddenly, the four legs started were now gone as i didn't felt them
Wondering if he left the room, i removed the sheets to see where Snow went

"Haa? He left so quickly?"
But before i knew it, i felt something tackled me from the front
My head crashed on the wall, leaving me with a headache
I felt something wet licking my cheeks
I immediately sighed and patted Snow's head

"Seriously Snow? You almost left me with a bruise!"
Meeting my eyes with my dog, a smile soon replaced my frown
With a bright smile, i softly say
