Broken Bottles Of Beer
Curse my Luck (1)
The night was still young, and the city pulsed with restless energy, its streets alive with laughter, footsteps, and endless motion. But nothing burned brighter than the heart of it all, Kiss and Tell Club. Inside, the air was thick with music and temptation, glasses clinking beneath dim lights while shadows of strangers moved together in a careless, intoxicating rhythm.
Alena stood tucked away in the corner, her back resting against the cool wall as she watched her friends dissolve into the pulse of the night. They laughed too loudly, moved too freely, their bodies swaying beneath flashing lights, and careless joy. This was their world not hers.
Parties had never been her thing. She preferred quiet spaces, soft blankets, and the comfort of solitude. Nights like this drained her, made her feel like an outsider looking in through glass she could never quite break.
But she was the only one sober. The only one responsible.
Leaving wasn’t an option.
So she stayed where she was, invisible, and still, waiting for the moment when their laughter would fade and they would need her to carry them safely home.
What she didn’t know, What she couldn’t feel beneath the weight of the music and flashing lights was that she wasn’t as invisible as she believed.
From across the room, through the haze of smoke and shifting bodies, someone was watching her. With a quiet, deliberate focus. While the crowd chased noise and distraction, their gaze never strayed far from her standing alone in the corner.
The stranger began moving toward her, slipping through the crowd with quiet purpose, never once taking his eyes off her.

Well, I can see you’re not shy *His gaze flickered with amusement.* So tell me… what’s a girl like you doing hiding in the corner? Don’t like to dance or just waiting for the right reason to?
Alena
I'm not really much of a Dancer

“How about we let loose for a bit? Come, dance with me I promise it’ll be worth your while.”
She paused for a heartbeat, then slowly slid her hand into his, letting him lead her onto the dance floor.
Soon, the music swallowed her completely, and for the first time that night, she let herself really move really feel dancing with the stranger. One drink followed another, each sip loosening her, until the world around her blurred and faded into nothing but lights, rhythm, and heat.
Alena
