Hoonie, My Love So Sweet
EPILOGUE
It was the school’s foundation day when I first met him. He was wearing his jersey with the number 09 on it, standing out effortlessly amidst the crowd. At first, I didn’t know who he was; I was a transferee back then, unfamiliar with the school's stars and stories.
Girls were always into him, flocking around like moths to a flame. He was the ace of the school, a shining beacon of talent and charm. Not only was he good in sports, but he excelled in academics as well.
"He’s the all-rounder," they would say with admiration and envy.
The announcer's voice echoed through the gymnasium. When the students screamed, I turned my head to look at him.
There he was, so focused and intense, like a perfect sculpture brought to life.
“Park Ji Hoon! Park Ji Hoon!”
They all screamed his name in unison, a symphony of adoration and excitement.
Park Ji Hoon—what a beautiful name, I thought to myself, as it rolled off my tongue like a sweet melody.
The crowd grew louder, their cheers blending into a cacophony of admiration. I was there, sitting on the bench, my eyes glued to him.
He moved with such grace and precision, every step a testament to his dedication and skill.
Suddenly, my heart thumped as our gazes met across the court. He looked at me with a blank expression, yet his hazel eyes seemed to pierce into mine, conveying a depth of emotion that words could never capture.
Time seemed to stand still in that moment, the world fading away until it was just the two of us, locked in an unspoken connection. My heart raced, and I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks.
From that day forward, everything changed. Park Ji Hoon became a constant presence in my thoughts, a lingering echo in my heart. Our paths crossed more often than not, in hallways, classrooms, and during after-school activities. Every glance, every smile, every fleeting interaction seemed to weave an invisible thread between us, pulling us closer together.
It wasn’t long before I found myself falling for him, drawn to his kindness, intelligence, and unwavering determination. He was more than just the school's ace; he was a beacon of hope and inspiration.
And since then, the rest was history.
CHAPTER 1
Two years have flown by since fate first brought us together. Now, as college students, the passage of time hasn't dimmed my feelings for him.
Who would've guessed that my affection would endure? Certainly not me.
This morning, as the sun timidly peeked through the curtains, I found myself pondering breakfast options before the day's lectures began.
My daily ritual follows a familiar pattern: waking up, sometimes early, sometimes not, and then bustling around the kitchen, preparing meals for both of us.
Yet, it's not just about feeding myself; it's about nourishing our connection, one meal at a time.
I murmured, closing the bento box crafted specifically for him.
Sulviy
"I know he might just hand it off to his friends, but let's hope he surprises us today.”
I added optimistically, slipping it into my bag.
I grabbed my phone and texted someone.
We're texting buddies now, at least in my mind. The thing is, he hardly responds, often leaving me on read. But I don't mind; it just means I have to try harder to catch his attention.
"Hoonie, my sweet love! I made you lunch. Can't wait for you to taste it!" I sent the message.
Now, the waiting game begins.
Sulviy
"Ha... not again..."
But it's okay. I'll see him at the campus anyway.
Arriving just in time, I headed to the school gym and spotted him, engrossed in the game. As I observed from a distance, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I turned to see my friend Jiwon.
Jiwon
"Oh! Are you giving this Hoon?"
He asked when he saw the bento box.
Sulviy
“Yeah. Do you think he’ll accept it?”
Jiwon
"Well, judging by how he usually reacts to such gestures..."
Jiwon
"Okay, let's stay positive! Of course, he'll appreciate it!"
He exclaimed, squeezing my hands.
That's why I love Jiwon; he’s always there to support me, no matter what.
A short while later, their practice came to an end. Jiwon and I hurried over to him.
Jae
"Well, well, if it isn't Mr. Bento Box."
Jae, Hoon's teammate and best friend, quipped.
Jaeyun
"Are you handing this over to us?"
Jaeyun, another close friend of Hoon's, chimed in.
Sulviy
"No, this is for Hoon,"
Jaeyun
"Oh? Looks like Hoon might not be interested, haha.”
Their words stung. It was true—I often made food for Hoon, only to see him share it with his friends. But I held onto the hope that one day, he would appreciate my efforts.
Jae
"What's wrong, Mr. Bento Box? Are you going to cry?"
Jiwon
"Cut it out, Jae. Can't you see Sulviy's upset?"
Jaeyun
"Why? Can't handle the fact that Hoon isn't into him?"
A familiar voice broke in. I looked up slowly to see him approaching, his expression’s unreadable.
