Episode 1
Aside from being the eldest daughter of her family, Briar had no identity of her own. She was like water beneath the soil, although there she was, yet there she wasn't. She was barely of three years when in a car accident her younger sister went missing after which peace barely resided in her life.
Her mother was devastated and was finding it hard to believe, she was terrified and blamed it on her, and became severely depressed. Her father tried his best to find his beloved daughter but could not. Days turned into months and months into seasons and seasons into years, but her sister was nowhere to be found.
Until one destined day, she finally reunited. The family rejoiced in delight and joy. Briar was indebted to God for granting her wish and returning her sister back to her, safe and sound.
But faith had tossed and twisted everything for her, and before she could even realize what was happening to her, she was falling short of everything her sister owned; most importantly her parents love, heed, care and attention.
She was shy and timid and therefore less spoken of. But the more she forced herself to negotiate with her parents shifting attitude, the more she was drifting apart from her beloved family. It was like a dried leaf hanging on to the branch in numerous hopes, none fulfilled. She was hurt but tried to stay sweet hearted and not sour: to not be angry, furious and bear grudges.
She was a child, neglected but not starved, asked for but not loved. And unfortunately it played a major role in whom she grew up to become. And to hide her scars, she had to be layered with wilderness of poppies.

Maria Lee
And you Vanessa! Enough is enough!
Maria Lee
Both of you go to the principal's office right now!
Maria Lee, their English teacher was looking nerve wrecked. She had lost count of how many times these two girls have fought with each other. Briar and Vanessa never got along well and the entire university knew of it; The Infamous Briar Rose and The School Bella Vanessa Bellucci.
Catherine Rose
To the principal's office!
Briar gazed incensed at Vanessa, digging holes into her soul, whereas Vanessa was bearing the expressions of a victor, and it made Briar incandescent. Vanessa flapped her eyelashes and tried her hardest to look like she was silently suppressing her painful tears.

Y-yes miss..
Vanessa gave Briar a repulsive look before leaving. Briar groaned at the same and followed. This was not the first time they had been sent to the principal's office and definitely not the first time Briar was going to be indigified by the principal and Vanessa's mother.
Briar enters the office and the cold air hits her face and body. Nevertheless, she could never become habitual to how humiliating this all was going to feel. Taking deep breaths, she makes her way and stands next to Vanessa.
Principal: You two again? It's barely been a few weeks since last time.
Briar tried to play it cool.
Principal: Shut it up Briar! Why are you so still on trying to damage Vanessa's reputation!
Principal: She told me what you did! Is this how woman from a wealth family behaves?
Principal: Jesus! You are no longer a child! Behave like a responsible human being for once!
He massages his forehead, fuming in anger.
Principal: Anyway I have called both your parents!
Principal: They better see what their ward is doing!
Briar was trying her hardest to control her distress and anger. She could feel her blood boiling. This all was too much for her. Again her parents won't show up, and again she would be humiliated, and her reputation would again be tarnished.
Vanessa smirks at the pained expression of Briar feeling proud on her doings.
Briar patiently looks toward the door, expecting Vanessa's mother to show up any now ranting about how good her daughter is and that she could do no vile. It hurts to see how her parents barely care about it.
To Vanessa: Briar Rose, was her enemy from the day she befriended her sister. She hated the way Briar was envious of her little sister and the way she hid it perfectly behind her fake smile. But bullying her was something she never knew she would find this joyful.
Suddenly the door of the office opens and enters a youthful man. Vanessa's eyes sparkle at the look of him. He looked like he was in his late twenties and to Briar he was unknown.
Briar Rose
(Who is he and what is he doing here?)
Briar frowns at the thought of him.
Aaron takes a glance at Briar, hoping to read what her expressions were saying.
Aaron Bellucci
What's the matter?
He was Aaron Bellucci, Vanessa's uncle. He was one of those men with whom no one dared to mess with. Vanessa was glad that this time her uncle was here, she would love to see the way he will embarrass Briar; she knows her uncle loves her and would not stand anyone hurting her.
Aaron looks toward the principal seeking for answers.
The Principal then explains the entire thing to him. It's the first time he had been to this university after he graduated from here. The principal and he were very familiar.
Aaron seemed to be unbothered by their tale and questioned-
Vanessa looked minutely shocked, and this question made Briar chuckle slightly and it did not go unnoticed by Vanessa.

What do you mean by 'so'?
Vanessa Bellucci
She slapped me across the face!
Vanessa shows her swollen cheeks to her uncle.
Briar Rose
Not that you didn't deserve it.
Briar rolled her eyes as she gave her opinion.
Vanessa Bellucci
She feels no remorse!
Briar gives a slight smile.
Briar Rose
Remorse for hitting a bug? I am not that good!
Vanessa Bellucci
You bïtch!
Vanessa tries to attack Briar in front of the principal and as usual he simply turns a blind eye to her behavior, but her uncle seems to be a bit cautious about it, and before he could speak his thoughts, Briar slaps Vanessa across her face.
Briar Rose
You forced me to behave like this! You can fool everyone! I don't care. Just remember, all this is your own doing.
Briar stares in Vanessa's eyes, as she spits her venom dipped words for her.
And before Briar could slap her once more, Aaron holds her hand. She gives him an angry glare before yanking her hand away from him.
Principal: This is just absurd!
Aaron Bellucci
Where are her parents?
Aaron's expressions went dark. Briar could feel his angry gaze upon her, yet he said nothing to her. Probably because there was something worst than just hitting her.
Episode 2
Briar Rose; It was the name everyone had on their lips, the news of hers travelled through out the university, some laughed while some did not. Some felt pity while some did not.
To deserve all this humiliation. Can justice ever find its way to her? She took a stand for herself, and all that in exchange for her dignity, self-esteem and her remaining reputation.
All gone, vanished into thin air.

Briar looked like she was going to cry!
Vanessa laughs as she remembers how her uncle broke Briar's spirit. Briar's parents had to finally come as Vanessa's uncle had intervened and not only Briar was rusticated for two months, her mother slapped her for her rude and disapproving behavior.

Her mother frowns at her words.

She was tormented enough..
Vanessa smiles at her mother. It was pure evil. She was pure evil. But since she was favored by her rich parents, nobody dared to point it out. As for Briar, nobody cared.
Briar Rose
Why is everyone against me?
Briar said those words like a murmur, her tears rolling down her cheeks. She felt pathetic and unwanted. Her eyes were red from crying, her voice was hoarse from screaming, screaming to prove her innocence. But all that matters now, was nothing.
It was midnight, the sky was filled with stars, shining, asking her to stay strong. Or perhaps she was imagining it all, to find herself a shoulder to lean on. She was trying to befriend those stars, in hopes of having her wishes fulfilled.

I am strong..I am not weak..
Briar thought to herself, where did it go wrong? Why was her struggle unnoticed? Is it all because of her sister. She seems to been having a good time every day. Briar on the other hand is crumbled into pieces.
Briar Rose
What a waste of time!
She gets up in hurry, wiping her tears. Standing next to the window of her room, she stares out into the dark, the streetlights slowly becoming blur, her tears once again finding their way out. Her heart was broken. Yet she refused to acknowledge it.
Briar Rose
Vanessa Bellucci, you just wait…
Briar Rose
I make you pay for it. Every single tear I shed today. Your agony will satisfy me one day.
She was not going to step back and watch everyone make living hard for. She blames everyone around her, she is not wrong, then why does nobody believe her?
Edmund Bellucci
Why did Aaron go to her university today?
Monica Bellucci
Her principal called.

You know that girl Briar, she assaulted her.

From when did Vanessa become weak enough to allow anyone to step on her?

Monica says in her sweet voice.

You know what, Catherine could not raise her daughter right.

All her attention is on her younger daughter. I feel bad for Briar but her attitude is so much of a bother.

She was too busy! But today she had to finally show up. Aaron just didn't tolerate.

Monica leans to kiss Edmund on his cheek. These two were not wrong, they were just unaware of the truth. If they had known what their daughter did, they might have not celebrated Briar getting grounded.
The next day was really quite, Briar was in her room, her breakfast was still on the table, untouched. She was on the floor doing yoga in order to relieve herself from stress and tension, when suddenly her phone rang.
She was really furious yesterday with the fact that Briar had assaulted her best friend. Briar tried to explain it to her as well, but she was not ready to listen.
Briar Rose
What is it Cassandra?
Cassandra Rose
Sister, I want to let you know that I am still angry with you.
Briar was tired of Cassandra talking to her like that.
Cassandra Rose
But I will give you a chance to make it up to me.
Briar furrowed her eyebrows.
Briar Rose
And what is that?
Cassandra Rose
Today all our classmates are going to the club. I know you are grounded, but if you say, I can convince mother and father to send you with me.
Cassandra reflects her excitement from the other side.
Briar had been to club many times, and she really wanted to go there after what had happened yesterday, she wanted to have some fun and forget whatever worried her.
Briar Rose
Sure, just make sure Vanessa would not be there.
Briar was not caring about it. She was not caring whether Vanessa would be there or not, she just wanted to know whether her sister cares about her opinion or not.
Cassandra Rose
I'll go and convince mother!
Briar ends the call, with a sense of dissatisfaction. She throws her phone on the bed and continues with her yoga.
She was surprised at how easily Cassandra agreed. Maybe she did care about her after all.
Poor Briar, if only she had any idea.
Cassandra Rose was her sister by blood but really different from her. She was like the sunshine and she the winter rain.
Her parents loved them both, and she tried to tell herself the same multiple times. But what she saw and felt always made her feel vulnerable.
It was as if, she was unwanted. But she knew her parents weren't aware. And she dared not to tell them her feelings.
Episode 3
Purity is depicted in her senses, she inhaled poison and exhaled sweetness mingled with life, but to take her for granted is an unknown tradition, unsaid but deeply felt. She muttered those words of deity following his examples only to meet dusty waters. She is lost yet her arms have embraced both roses and thrones.
She was no one else but Briar Rose.

Cassandra shared with Bethany her plans for tonight while she did her make-up. Even if it did involve tricking Briar into going along with them knowing clearly her foe was going to be at the club, Cassandra felt no remorse. She did care but not too much of what effect it might have on Briar.
She was unable to comprehend the sole reason behind their enmity. Vanessa never treated her badly, she never wronged her, and she never ever tried to hurt her feelings. Then why was it so different for her sister? They had known each other since their childhood.
Yes, she agrees that they had their differences but so did she. She managed to make so many friends while her sister could not. At one point she agrees that it might be because of her criticizing behavior, but her sister is actually a sweet marshmallow inside when one gets to know her.
Vanessa hated her sister saying her sister was jealous of everyone. But Cassandra knew it was not the truth. She believed in her sister.
Briar Rose
Yes I understand.
Briar nods her head in agreement.
Maria Lee
You both need to stop this, it is getting out of hand.
Briar Rose
But Miss Maria, you know it very well.
Briar Rose
She keeps provoking me till I burst into flames.
Briar Rose
Mr. Smith will not hear me out, as always, he treats me as trouble.
Briar sighs in disappointment.
Maria Lee
Vanessa needs someone to give her a reality check.
Maria Lee
If she keeps on bullying you like this, others will start bullying you as well.
Maria Lee

Briar Rose
She said she was disappointed.
Pain was visible in her voice.
Briar Rose
After that day I was her second priority. It truly never bothered her until she gets called out for her behavior.
Maria Lee
If you ever feel bothered, you can always rely on me.
Briar Rose
Yes I know, and this time, I do think it was my fault. If I had thought with a cool mind.

I would have saved myself from being grounded.

Anyway, it's pretty late. You should go to bed.

Briar smiles, feeling loved.
Keeping her phone in her purse, she takes one last look at her in the mirror and walks down the stairs. It was almost midnight. Cassandra was waiting for her, in the car.
Rich people have it quite easy.

How did mother even agree?
Cassandra Rose
My cuteness is worth all the praises.
When they reached the club, Cassandra was pulled aside by her friends who chatted wholeheartedly. Briar on the other hand stood apart from them, feeling slightly uncomfortable.
Briar Rose
Umm… Where's the room?
Cassandra Rose
Oh, heavens!

I booked a VIP service for this very day.
Cassandra held Briar's hand and dragged her to the room. When the door opened, Briar smirked to herself. She was not disappointed seeing Vanessa chilling on the couch having the time of her life.
Briar Rose

Cassandra Rose
You guys need to settle your differences.
Cassandra tries to explain.
Briar Rose
I thought I said I do not want her here.
Cassandra Rose
I know! But please, you guys are always making it so hard for me.
"This is not about you.", Briar thought to herself.
She takes a long breath and then goes and sits on the couch. Entirely ignoring Vanessa's existence. Briar was not going to play a child this time.
She was there to have fun.
The night was slowly slipping away, the music grew louder. Cassandra and her other friends were on the dance floor, dancing their hearts away. Meanwhile, Briar was still the room, all alone sipping her only glass of vodka.
She felt like she was enjoying herself to her heart's content. Sitting alone in the room, the sensual music playing in the background. Everything seemed so relaxing. It was making her overwhelmed.
Her peaceful solitude was snatched away from her the moment Vanessa entered the room. She was pulled out of her comfort zone, but Vanessa seemed to have not noticed Briar, as she stumbled past her, dropping her body on the couch, giggling to herself.
Briar gives her a side eye and gulps down the rest of her drink and gets up to leave when suddenly Vanessa starts laughing like crazy.

What's up with you?
Briar Rose

You'll love it!
Vanessa seemed to be saying that to herself. Briar takes one whole look at her enemy and leaves the room. The outside was much warmer than the inside.
Briar walked downstairs where the dance was taking place and searched for Cassandra. She was feeling sleepy and wanted to go home.
She jostled through the crowd searching for her, but she could not find her. Her head was getting heavy and she could feel her body warming up. Tears filled her eyes as she realised what had happened to her.
Someone spiked her drink.
