It was another regular day as I was like any other day overly excited to see my love Lady Arabella
It was our 1st anniversary as a couple and I was overly joyed to surprise her
Although little did I know the surprise she was about to give me was something I wouldn't have expected if I could bet my entire existence on it
As I walked over eagerly to surprise my love, her back was facing me
I tapped her shoulder to gain her attention
As she turned around, looking utterly stunning in a blue gown, I noticed an unexpected object in her grasp
A dagger, but before I could even inquire about it, the dagger pierced through my flesh into my stomach
I gasped at the agonising pain before my eyes widened realising the dagger was thoroughly covered in poison
I fell to the ground, finally looking up at Arabella only to see her staring down at me with a poker face
The words barely managed to escape my mouth as I asked in more than a whisper

As I watched the Crimson liquid escape my body and the pain of the wound slowly becoming unbearable as the poison started to spread....the pain felt close to nothing in comparison to the question lingering in my mind

Arabella curled up into a ball miserably crying as she thought her attempt to kill end her miserable life and join her live once and for all, failed
Just as Arabella was crying, the door swung open causing her to get startled

Rowan was always accustomed to seeing his older sister happy and cheerful or at least she never let him see when see was troubled or sad, so seeing his sister in this state absolutely shattered his heart

After Arabella chose to stay with Matthias, threats would constantly arrive from all Matthias's enemies mostly turning towards Arabella's family
After a while of receiving threats one of Matthias's main enemies finally took the chance when Arabella was with spending time with him and brutally murdered Arabella's mother and brother
Arabella was broken and utterly devastated that her last family was taken from her yet again
Yet still, even when Matthias blamed himself, she lovingly explained to him that it wasn't his fault at all
She chose to stay with him through thick and thin which deepened his love for her even further
As the Fontaine dukedom collapsed, the Duke, his wife and his two children were forced to move out
They were living contently even though they weren't used to not living in absolute riches
Then one day, the fallen king was assassined leaving his wife a widow and his children fatherless
The children were none other than Arabella and Rowan
And after seeing how broken Rowan was when their father died she decided that she would never let him go through anything bad if she could help it
They got closer after their father's death so when Rowan was killed, so was a part of Arabella

But still, I couldn't possibly explain how much I despised seeing Rowan so concerned at the same time, when most of my life I tried to let him avoid such situations

Even though for a really long time, we were struggling heavily with financial issues, my beautiful and strong mother tried to never let my brother and I worry about things like that
However I still saw through it as even though she tried so hard, I in a sense matured when my father passed away....
Even though her death was entirely my fault, as I layed next to my dying mother her final words were...
"make sure to live a happy life my baby, even if I and Rowan aren't by your side...I feel like I was born to give birth to you and Rowan, I love you so much my baby...."
