My grandma picked me up, her car was big, the drive to her apartment was silent. Even though she tried to talk to me this whole time, I didn't respond. It was....tiring. The car stopped, she opened my door, I wasn't paying attention, I was just sipping my lemon water.
"Come on, get out." She smiled sweetly, she was trying to make me comfortable. I sighed and got out, grabbing my backpack, I didn't want to stay here. She noticed my sigh and rubbed my back. "Grandma, I'm not a child...stop." I pulled away walking inside, the apartment was big, the lights were bright, they hurt my eyes, I blocked it out, slightly annoyed.
My grandma sighed, "Come on....go inside." She gestured for me to go inside, I stepped in, this place was filled with a lot of memories for me. Did she rearrange...? I slowly walked in, sweeping my hand across the couch slowly, when I touched it, a rush of memories came back. I pulled my hand away. "Ah... I see you noticed I rearranged, yes....It does look a bit different, doesn't it?" She had a New York accent, I nodded, not paying much attention, just sipping my lemon water.
"Sweetie... I know it's hard your mother died....but, you'll get over it." My blood boiled when I heard that, but I kept calm. "Grandma...Where's my room." I walked away from her, she didn't realize what she said. She smiled, she was a sweet lady, but I dismissed it. She walked me to a room, it was small, but it was....nice. I looked around, there was a bed with yellow covers, the walls were light blue, there was a small desk in the corner with a desk lamp, it was dimly lit, I had a big window by the bed, there was a slight breeze. The desk had pictures of my mom, and, me. There was a few fairy lights in front of the window, it had white curtains.
"Do you like it? I tried my best..." My grandma noticed me looking around, I nodded slowly. "Yes, grandma.... I like it. Thank you." My voice was soft, it was barely audible. My grandma walked over to the bed, pulling something out from the bottom. I was curious, I tilted my head. "Sweetie..... You used to draw a lot when you were younger....I got you a sketchbook and a few shading pencils...." She smiled softly, handing it to me. I looked happy, but I didn't show it to well. "Thank you, grandma...." I took it from her, gently.
"Now... I'll be cooking....feel free to explore the apartment, so you know your away around." She smiled gently, and walked out. I walked out the door to her apartment.
There were a few apartment doors next to hers, I looked down the stairwell, it was long, winding around. It would take forever to walk around, but I did it anyway. The lights were dim, but it was day, so that was normal. I walked down slowly, I was now on the fifth floor. There were a few apartment doors, I walked through the hallway, looking down, I'd never done this before. I continued walking through the hallway, it turned a lot, but it was cozy and nice. I wasn't paying attention, I bumped into someone.
"Oh... I'm sorry...." I said to the man, he was muscular, he had white messy hair and light blue eyes, they sparkled like the ocean, his skin was as pale as the moon. He was tall, the was 6'6, I felt small compared to him, he caught me, my face smashed into his chest, my face was a little red, he was really handsome I, like a model, he had light, tinted lips. They were so pretty.
"Are you ok?" His voice was deep, but gentle. I nodded slowly, my face still in his chest. I looked up at him, he smiled and pulled away. "That's good. I'll be going now." He smiled and walked away. I can't believe that just happened, he was so handsome....WHo is that guy...? I can't believe my face was buried in his chest.... I walked away, still a bit flustered. I heard my grandma call me. I guess I'll explore the rest later.....
My grandma called me, I could hear her from upstairs, I looked up. She was yelling over the stairwell. I sighed and walked up. She smiled sweetly. "Dinner's ready." She shooed me inside. I sighed audibly and walked inside.
She sat me down at the table. She put a plate of pasta in front of me, I ate it quickly, before my grandma could sit down. I washed my plate and ran up to my room, my grandma extended her arm, she looked worried, but I didn't care. I pulled the sketchbook from under the bed, opening it to the first page. Likewise, I pulled my pencil out, gliding it across the page.
I was sketching a landscape, but I was getting frustrated. Lemon water. I walked down the stairs. "Grandma, I'm leaving, I'll be back soon." I put my shoes on, and walked out the door before she could say anything.
The breeze was cold, it calmed me, I slowly walked to the store, enjoying the moment. I closed my eyes, taking in the feeling, but I continued walking.
AT THE STORE:
I walked down the aisles. The lighting was dim here, the mood dropped, it wasn't a good feeling I had in my gut. I quickly grabbed my Lemon water, and walked to the register. I looked down, grabbing my credit card. Not only that, but I looked back up. It was the man from earlier. He recognized me.
"You're the kid who had his face buried in my chest." He rang up my lemon water, he was smiling. I got embarrassed. Whatever... He didn't have to say that.... "Are you done?" I looked at him, he was taking his time ringing my lemon water up. I was getting annoyed. "Can you hurry? I don't have time for this." I crossed my arms, tapping my finger impatiently. He was still smiling, he slowly handed me the lemon water. I snatched it out of his hands. He smirked, he knew I was annoyed. I stormed out of the building, but he stopped me. "Watch out for the man downstairs." He walked back inside. I tilted my head, I was confused. I shook my head and walked the other way.
THE NEXT DAY:
I walked out of the apartment building, holding a bouquet of flowers, I was going to visit my dad. I finally got to the hospital, I walked to my dad's room. I opened the door, he was sitting there reading a book. He looked up and smiled. "Hi dad..." I walked over to him and handed him the flowers. He took them and smelled them.
"Thank you." He put them down, the nurse walked in, shooting me out. "You can't be here, we have important business." She smirked and threw me out. I scoffed, walking back to the apartment complex. I walked into the apartment complex.
It was night, it was dark. I paused I saw something weird....There was a man.....Breaking into my apartment?
