Knock knock…..

Who’s here at this hour…. Sara saw the wall clock and thought and opened the door. It was mid night.

The person on the other side of the door was wearing black jeans and black hoodie, covering his face with a mask, entered inside by pushing Sara to the side.

Who the hell…. Sara shouted but the guy in black put his hand on her mouth and pushed her to the wall..

Ssshhh…. The guy in black put his index finger on his lips showing her to keep quite.

Sara was afraid to death and thinking of something when the guy removed his mask. When she saw his face she felt her blood to be drained off from her body.

When he saw her pale face he let go of her.

Roy???? She gathered all her strength and speaks the name of the person standing infront of her.

I am sorry for my sudden arrival but please don’t make any noise…. Roy pleaded.

Why you’re here????? Sara asked and took a step to her left side and tried to get away from his approach.

Please don’t be afraid. I will not hurt you ever, you know that…. He said with tears in his eyes.

But you are a murderer… What are you expecting from me?????? Sara said while taking step back.

Please listen to me. Just for this once. I know I’ve hurt you back then. I broke your heart but I always loved you, I had no choice. But please trust me I didn’t kill anyone. When I reached there that guy was already dead. Roy tried to convince her.

Then why you ran????? Sara asked furiously.

I had no choice. No one was ready to listen to me… They all think that I killed him. Roy said and sat on the chair near to him.

Why should I believe you????Sara said and move towards the window.

It’s up to you…. I need shelter for one day. Roy said and saw to her watching outside the window.

Do you think I’ll not inform the Police????? Sara said and turned towards him.

I just need one chance to prove that I am innocent. Please!!!! I didn’t kill him. Even you are not ready to listen my explanation?????? Roy saw her in her eyes.

Okay spit it…. Sara said and took another chair and placed opposite to Roy’s chair and sat on it.

You know that guy???? Roy asked

Yeah I know him, he is heir of some real estate company…. Sara said

He was my step brother Adam. Roy said in low voice

Is this a justification of his murder??? Sara asked and threw a bitter gaze on him

No… My father married my mother after Adam’s mother passed away but my mother left him because he was a play boy type man. My mother took me and my sister away from him. We never met him but when he died, we went on his funeral. Adam thought we want my father’s property and business so he started harassing us. I just went there to tell him that we don’t want any share from my father’s legacy.….. Roy said while looking at her.

So you killed him???? Sara asked again with hatred in her eyes.

I didn’t kill him….. He shouted.

Don’t raise your voice against me…. You have no right. Sara said and got up from the chair and opened the door and moved her hand in way showing him to leave.

Pleas just let me stay here for one day…. I came here to ask you for a favor for the old time’s sake. I still love you and I know you still love me too…. Roy said and tried to hold her hand which she slapped away.

Do you know that police is searching for you????? You want me to be found out with you????? Sara panicked.

Please listen to me… You have to believe me… I am not a culprit. Even back then I was forced to leave you. I had no choice. They want me to be dead therefore they have tricked me into this mess. Please trust me. I swear. He started pleading and tears start falling from his eyes.

Sara never saw him crying, she thought and closed the door. Okay you can stay here. I’ll not inform the police but please leave tomorrow. I don’t want to see you, you should know that. Sara said and walked towards the kitchen. Have you eaten???? I have some sandwiches; you can eat if you want. You can sleep on couch in living room. Sara said and walked to her room.

Sara locked her room and threw herself on the bed. She still remembers the first time she met Roy…

(Memories)

On the first day in university, she was searching for her class when she ran into him.

I am so sorry!!!!! She panicked.

It’s alright. Don’t panic… Why are you running in hallway???? The person asked her politely.

I am bad at directions and lost my class. Class is about to start. Sara said while looking here and there.

Can I look at your schedule???? The person asked

Here.. I am a freshman. I have language class of Sir Smith. Sara told him.

Ohh!! I am your senior. Let me take you to your class. He said with a warm smile.

Thank you. Sara thanked him.

It’s okay. By the way my name is Roy. The last class on left side is your class and don’t get lost again. He smiled and turned to go.

Thank you once again. She said ran towards the class.

Next day they met in library when she went to get some books. Hi Miss lost!!!!! She saw at the direction of voice saw him waving at her standing some of his classmates.

Hi senior…. She waved back.

He came towards her. I hope you didn’t lost again. He laughed.

No!!! She said and felt embarrassed.

So what are you doing in library….. He asked

I am here to get some books. She replied with excitement.

How was your first day in this university??? He asked

It was awesome. She replied with more excitement.

After that day they became friends. They ran into each other daily as they both loved to spend time in library after their classes. They came close. They both fell for each other but didn’t express their feelings until one day a secret of Sara revealed to him.

Hey let’s go for coffee. Roy suggested while leaving library with Sara.

Yeah sure. Sara replied.

They entered in a café near to university.

You sit there , I’ll get the coffee. Roy point towards the table beside the window and went to the counter.

Here is your coffee. He came with their coffee.

They were chatting when suddenly a tall guy entered the café. When he saw them he rushed towards them.

Sara!!!! He called her name by reaching her table.

Jason!!!! What are you doing here???? She became nervous.

Who is he???? The guy named Jason asked.

He is my senior, Roy…. Roy, he is my fiancé Jason. She introduced both with shaking voice.

Hi… Roy extend his hand for hand shake but Jason ignored and continue speaking, Sara we are leaving in 10 minutes, I’ll drop you at your home. He said and walked towards the person he came with.

You are engaged??? You didn’t tell anyone. Roy asked anxiously

He is my relative. He proposed me when I was in Senior high. I was not able to say a word in this engagement because my parents are involved in it. She explained while looking outside the window.

Do you like him? He asked with a concerned tone.

It doesn’t matter…. She replied

Do you like someone??? He asked

It doesn’t matter either. She replied still looking outside

If I say I like you???? You don’t like him but I love you from the depth of my heart. From the day I first saw you running in hallway. She looked at him shockingly

What do you mean???? She asked furiously

I love you… Would you like to be with me???? He said and hold her hand and continued, you don’t need to answer now. I’ll wait for your answer

She was about to say something, her mobile rang. Jason was calling. She picked the call. Jason was asking her to come out. She said good bye and left.

Whole night she was not able to sleep. She knew she liked him too. She never liked Jason. He was the one who claimed he love her with all his heart but she had no choice as it was her family’s decision.

Next day, Roy came to her when she was in library.

Have you thought??? He asked while sitting.

I am engaged. She replied.

But you don’t like him. Do you???? He asked

You are right, I don’t like him and yes I like you. So???? She put her book on table and saw him in his eyes.

I’ll never let you go… because I love you more than anything. He said and hold her hands.

She didn’t say anything and keep staring on his hands holding hers.

Roy noticed her confusion. It’s my last semester. I have a bright future. Let me talk to your parents after exams. I can’t imagine my life without you. He said and squeezed her hands.

What if my parents refused??? She asked

Don’t think too much. Okay??? He said

Hmm… She nodded

When they reached to university gate, Jason was waiting for Sara.

While driving, Jason took a glance at her watching on the other side.

Do you like him???? He asked

She suddenly turned towards him.

Don’t hide this. I know you were not ready for the engagement and your parents forced you. We grew up together. I want you to be honest. I just want you to be happy. He said and put his hand on her shoulder.

She started crying. She told him that she like Roy ever since the met. Jason convinced her that he will help her and Roy.

After exams, Roy never contacted her. When she went his house, he told her that he was toying her. It was pleasure for him to play with her feelings. She was heartbroken. She left the university and went to abroad to study.

After spending 5 years abroad, she came back and became a successful writer. After coming back she came to knew that Roy is working in the Entertainment Company for which she signed contract.

~Current Day~

Sara woke up from the noises coming from kitchen. She got up and came out of her room and saw Roy making breakfast.

You are still here????? Sara asked

I told you I am innocent. You have to believe me. Roy said.

Sorry. I can’t be fooled again. I am not old Sara. Sara said with bitter expressions.

Sara can you please trust me for once????? Roy pleaded

Sara noticed the helplessness and sadness in his eyes but controlled her emotions. Please Roy, don’t force me to call the police. Leave after breakfast. I can’t help you anymore. Sara said and turned to leave but Roy called her.

Sara!!!!!! Roy called her name, his voice was full of emotions.

What else???? Sara asked without turning

I came here because I wanted to tell you something that you never knew. They will kill me for sure but before I die, I want to show true self of some people. Roy said and sat on kitchen floor with cabinet, wrapped his arms around his knees and burry his head.

What do you mean???? Sara turned

Jason is the one who forced me to leave you. My family was at stake. Roy said and lift his head. He was crying.

Jason will never do something like this. Stop blaming others. Sara shouted.

I doubt this murder case is also doing of Jason. Roy said

Jason joined police after Sara left for abroad. After coming back Sara and Jason’s families decided for their marriage after completion of Sara’s current project.

And why would he do this?????? Sara frowned

He knows that you and I are working for same company. He came to me last week to warned me to stay away from you. Roy said while looking to other side.

He would never do this. He is not a deceiver like you. Sara spitted

You trust him but you can’t trust me……. You never loved me. Roy said and buried his head again in his arms.

Knock Knock…..Door knocked

Roy stood up quickly and saw towards Sara who was shockingly seeing door.

Did you tell someone???? Roy asked worriedly in low voice

Are you out of your mind???? Sara whispered in anger.

Door knocked again….. Hey baby!!!!! Are you in house?????

Shit….. It’s Jason!!!! Sara whispered. You!!!!! Come here. Sara grabbed Roy’s arm and dragged him to her room and pushed him in her cupboard. “Stay here, until he leaves.”

She took deep breath and opened door.

Hi Jason…. She greeted him with a smile

Where were you???? Jason asked while entering in apartment.

I was in bathroom. Sara replied

Ohh!!! He saw breakfast on kitchen counter that Roy prepared. Wow!!!! You made breakfast…. I suddenly feel I am hungry…. He said and took sandwich.

Why are you here early in morning????? Sara asked while trying to hide her uneasiness.

Why???? I can’t come????? He frowned

No!!!! I didn’t mean it. She said hurriedly.

It’s okay. I came here to tell you to take care of yourself. Jason said while eating

Why???? Sara asked with confusion.

You know the murder case of Mr. Adam????? Jason asked

Yeah I saw that news. Sara said

I am incharge of that case. And do you know who is the prime suspect????? Jason asked

I know. It is on news. Sara said and sat on couch.

“I’ll not let him go. His right place is inside the jail”. Jason smiled

Hmm…. Sara hummed and rest her head on couch and closed her eyes.

Are you alright????? Are you sad??? Jason asked

No….. I am just tired. I have to go to shooting site later. Sara said with poker face

We are getting married after completion of shooting of this series. I don’t want you to be sad even for a second. He said and sat with Sara and hugged her.

Are you not getting late for your work???? Sara asked

I am but I want to spend some time with you. Jason said with puppy eyes.

Sara smiled. “You can spend time with me after your work done.”

You know I love you so much….. Jason said and squeezed her in his arms.

Stop it….. Sara pushed him.

Okay sorry. He gently kissed her on forehead, and gently said “I am leaving, let me know if you need something.”

Jason!!! Sara grabbed his hand when he got up to leave.

Yes my love…. He replied gently.

Do you think, Roy killed him? Sara asked

Are you worried about him? He asked with concerned tone

No. I am just asking. Sara replied

He is the prime suspect. Roy and the victim were step brothers. Adam’s younger brother Harrison accused Roy and Adam was alive before meeting with Roy. Jason explained.

Jason noticed Sara to lost in thoughts, he put his hands on her shoulders, “Don’t worry. everything will be alright. This case doesn’t concern you so don’t be like this. Roy said and squeezed her shoulders.

I am not worrying about this matter. Sara said and forced herself to smile.

Roy frowned and turned to leave. “Okay then I am leaving”.
