My breath is heaving and it's as if my heart were about to jump out of my chest. The touch of what one could only say as cosmic. What is this? It's a feeling I have never felt before. I've only heard of this described on youtube videos and my friends gossip magazines. My body tenses and BAM! Like a shock of lightning it was done leaving my body sore and tender.

"Linn how was that geometry test?" Mina says nudging me.

"Bro if I knew highschool was gonna be this intense I would've dropped out last year!" I say annoyed.

"Linn you should've been studying in homeroom this morning instead of goofing off with Ash," Mina says as if to lecture me AGAIN. And there we go Mina started to lecture me on dumb crap while managing to stick in some jabs to my ego and intelligence while we get ready to leave our last class of the day. We walk out to the back of the school to our respective buses and say our goodbyes. I put in one earbud and go sit in my seat, seat number 13. I start to doze off but then I feel my ear bud being moved and I get started by the poke in the thigh.

"Hey Butthead," Ash says teasingly.

"Bruh you want me to tell your girlfriend your bothering me again?" I say annoyed as ever. Ash was Red's boyfriend, in which I used to have a crush on but now we're just awkward buddies.

"Wow Linn you're so mean," He says pouting. He always did this whenever I shot him down with an insult he called me mean and I always sink into his baby blue eyes. But not this time!

"Okay I'm texting your girlfriend right now," I say nonchalantly, which I wasn't but I really wasn't in the mood to be annoyed today. He yanked my phone out of my hand.

"Ash STOP!" I say in a voice not loud enough to make a commotion but enough to have the people around us look.

"Wow Ash your such an *** leave Linn alone," says Tri sarcastically. Tri Young is one the jocks on the basketball team, which Ash was a part of so I knew Ash would leave me alone for a sec.

"You're such a ****," Ash says jokingly to Tri. Ash gave my phone back to me and went to sit by Tri punching him in the arm. I will never ever understand high school jocks. I put my earbud back in place as it should be and my buddy Abs walks into the bus I wave to her and she smiles. Abs had been my buddy since freshman year when she and I were both on the tennis team. She was this tall slender blonde with deep lavender eyes that pierce your soul. I was slightly jealous of her graceful nature at times.

"Linn! what up?" She says. She came to sit by me and she grabbed her phone gesturing as if to show me something. I almost forgot the one person who I've been waiting for wasn't on the bus yet. It was strange but I felt as if someone was behind me about to touch my ear bud again.

"BOO!"

I turn around to see a face I absolutely adore. Dayn an underclassmen who I had known for a good amount of my life. He was this super tall gangly blonde with a smile that could tear a city apart. I had been crushing on him for long time and I’m super close to his younger sister so I was hoping eventually he’d notice my crush on him. Little did I know what I had in store with this underclassmen.

“What’s up Dayn?” I say in an annoyed voice. I could never be nice to the guys I like and seriously want to pinch myself for it.

“That’s wasn’t me” He smiled very cheekily. He slumped back down in his seat after smiling at me. Abs pulled me back to her.

“Linn, are you listening?” Abs said annoyed.

“Sorry I’m out of it bro,” I reply.

“ Are you going to the group study Saturday?” Abs said with such delight in her voice.

“Probably not,” I reply.

“Wh-“

“Cause it’s going to be the usual, we all chill and talk for 3 hours about how dumb Ben is. Nothing ever gets done, I’ve gotta get my homework done this weekend,” I say nonchalantly.

“Linn it’ll be different promise!” Abs said pleading. I honestly doubted her, my friends never had the best track record for paying attention to anything besides gossip, makeup, and boys.

The bus was at Abs stop,

“I’ll make sure everyone does their work this time promise!” She says leaving.

I sigh and suddenly Dayn jumps into my seat. My face starts to get so hot. He better not notice this or I might actually die.

“what are you doing get out of my seat!” I say feeling my face turn red.

“It’s my seat now,” he says smiling. I’m speechless, this boy is just so brazen. I try not to lean into him.

“We have the same stop anyways, so....” Dayn says smiling so sweetly to me. His eyes shined a forest green. His face was so close to mine.

“Alright,” I reply shyly. It’s not like he was bothering me but my heart couldn’t take how close he was to me. I could feel Ash’s gaze beaming into me from somewhere. The bus ride was becoming a genuinely interesting event of my day. What’s honestly gotten into everyone cause I feel like I’m going insane. The bus stopped at our spot and we got off the bus. How I survived that far I do not know. Dayn went to walk with Yarles and Jack. I walked by myself thinking about the events that had just occured and died inside.

*brrrrrg

My phone had been blowing up, my cousin Cain had blown up my phone in a matter of seconds. I call him to see what’s going on.

“Cain what’s wrong with you?” I say still walking to my house.

“Come home quick!”

I sped home after hearing my cousin shout at me. I was seriously worried something serious had happened. As I approached the front door it slams open and I’m grabbed.

“Linn!” My sister says excitedly. She grabs me and hugs me tightly.

“What are you doing here Veve?” I utter gasping for air. She really doesn’t know her strength.

“Oops sorry Linn” Veve says letting me go.

“You’ve grown so much baby sister!”

“That’s what happens when you leave for a year V.” I say rubbing my neck.

“Did you like how Cain freaked you out when you were coming home? I just wanted to surprise you cause imma be back for a while now” Veve says happily.

“Oh you’re not fleeing the country again?” I say walking to my room. Veve follows me,

“Of course not sis I’ll miss you too much! Any how are you and that Dayn kid I haven’t seen him in forever maybe after dinner we can go say hi to his fam!”

I pause, I feel my face get red thinking about Dayn again.

“Veve you’re not allowed in my room.”

“Why not? Do you have something naughty you don’t want me to-“

I shut the door in her face.

“Hey! Don’t slam your door at me!” She shouts while slamming the door. I blast music really loudly,

“What’s that I cant hear you!!”

“Ugh!” I hear from outside the door, then stomping back to the living room. I sigh, turn down the music and my put hands on my cheeks to try and cool them down. Cain is a brat for this i swear. I sit down at my desk and turn on my computer to load my Siege of the Legendaries, put on my headset and get ready for a game. Suddenly Cain texts me.

“Download riskel?” I whisper to myself. I search it up and download it. I make an account and link my siege. A notification pops up saying that Cain wants to voice chat. I accept and it get really loud. I hear Cain and I say,

“Yo Cain what is this?”

“Hey Ashlee” another softer voice says.

“Ummmm my names not Ashlee, random person I do not know” I retort.

“It’s-“

“Shut up Ashlee and join the game” says Cain.

“I swear this is how you greet your cousin?” I say.

“ Just join the game!” Cain shouts through the mic at me.

“Okay!” I say hitting the accept on the game. We get into the game, Cain and the mysterious voice are having a conversation while I just listened. Siege was a moba and I usually play tank so I chill in my top lane while Cain and the voice play duo on the bottom lane. I get the first kill and I’m doing pretty well considering I’m pretty annoyed with Cain. I basically dominate my lane in a matter of seconds so we win pretty quickly. I actually carry the game for the first time in forever. The voice messages me privately on riskel telling me good job. I blush slightly, this is the first time any of Cain’s friends actually complimented me. I thank him and before I log off of riskel and Seige I ask him what his name was.
