The Young Bride

one: the new teacher

Φ•Φ

If subjects were humans, I would plan my murder right away.

Everyone couldn't stop themselves from groaning when the teacher laid the test paper on top of their desk. Especially me. The C minus written on the paper was big, red and very unnoticeable. Breathing heavily, I braced myself as I flipped the papers. It couldn't be that bad, right?

"Shit." I cursed under my breath. It was bad. Real bad.

"Hmm.." I jumped a little in surprise, feeling the hot breath of my best friend, Addam, on my neck. I turned my body around to punch his biceps. Of course, he didn't flinch or winced. Instead he grinned like a fool after he glanced at my grade.

"Oh shut up. We get it, you're the brains in Mathematics. No need to rub it on me." I commented before looking back forwards, crossing my arms over my chest and pouting like a 6 year old.

Addam reached his hand over my shoulder and grabbed the paper in a flash.

"Hey!" I gasped. I tried to grab it back and secure it safely. But Addam being a total douche, he outstretched his long arm and wave the paper above me. I could feel his smirk as I jump to obtain it.

My eyes landed on his unguarded chest, smirking as well. Before he could react, I tickled his sides and neck, his weak spots. Addam was a very ticklish person, despite his broad and masculine body. Everyone thought he was all tough and strong, but when you're friends with him, there is just this other side of him that he only shows to people who he trusts.

"A-Alright.. S-s-stop!" He said in between his laughter, tears already coming out of his eyes.

Once the paper was within my reach, I stopped tickling and grabbed the paper, sticking my tongue out at him. He glared at me before tickling my sides, which was not my weak spot. I didn't have any; somehow I just didn't. Maybe it was because of my thick layer of fat.

"Laugh woman!" He shouted in frustration. I faked yawn, causing him to stop and pant heavily. "You're no fun."

"Thank you." I sarcastically said while curtsying.

Suddenly, the bell rang which meant it was time for recess. The teacher exited the classroom before the students could. Or maybe they were just busy complaining about the exam questions.

"Come on, stupid. I'm hungry." I stated, stuffing my stationery into my pencil case roughly. I could hear Addam's chuckle as he watched me do so.

Heading out the class, I made no attempt to even look at my best friend. Then, I saw the most wonderful thing in my entire life. Another test paper on Mathematics with the same large red C minus on it. And it was in the hands of my other real best friend.

"Jay!" I excitedly called and ran towards him with opened arms. He glanced at my grade and eventually die the same.

Once we were near, we both grabbed each others' forearm and jumped up and down like little kids. I could feel Addam rolling his eyes as he pushed us away from the middle of the hall.

"What did you ge- oh never mind." Jay playfully teased Addam, as if getting a C minus was better than an A.

"Why do I associate with you people?" Addam asked himself, heading towards his locker. Jay and I gave each other a sly glance before throwing our arms around his neck and ruffled his hair.

"Gah.. STOP! " He exclaimed as we-well Jay continued his work. I had to stop because the two boys were taller than me. If I had continued any longer, my arms would've resembled the neck of a giraffe. And trust me when I say this. You do not want to see me with a short body and long skinny arms.

As two girls passed by, they giggled while covering their mouths with their hands. I rolled my eyes. Typical. Well, I couldn't blame them. Addam and Jay were hot to be honest. I mean who wouldn't find them undeniably attractive?

Addam had charcoal black hair in a quiff hairstyle. His eyes were the colour of emerald green that twinkled when you look closer. He was the quarterback at school, which meant he was also tall and muscular.

Meanwhile, Jay was also the same height as Addam. But he wasn't muscular or built. He was just an average who had naturally curly dark neutral blonde hair. He had hazelnut colored eyes, like mine. To top it off, he had cute dimples which all the girls love. I'd be lying if I said I didn't.

"Hey, earth to Ginger!" I clenched my jaw, punching Jay's arm at the stupid nickname he used for me. I had ginger coloured hair, so what?

"Ow! You psychotic bi-" Before he could finish his sentence, I pounced on him and attacked him with kicks and punches.

"Alright I surrender!" He exclaimed, putting his hands up. I stopped immediately and pulled my sweater down to cover up the little skin showing. Then I flashed playful wink at him, earning a middle finger. I laughed as he went to his locker to put his books, slouching and massaging his bruised arm.

While the boys were busy putting their stuff into their locker, I went to mine and did the same. Out of the corner of my eyes, I could see Vivian heading my direction.

"Hey biatch." She greeted, looking very happy as she waved the maths test paper in the air.

I groan. "Let me guess. It's either an A plus or just A. Oh who am I kidding of course it's an A plus! "

"Don't be jelly. I mean, it's just an A... An A plus!" Then she threw her head back and laughed hysterically like a mad man. I reached my hand out and slapped her arm. Yes, I was an abusive friend.

"Ow!" She yelped, rubbing her hand up and down her red arm.

I turned back to my locker to grab the books I need for my next class. Meanwhile, she continued talking.

"Have you heard about the new teacher? He'll be teaching History. I heard he's hot. Like flaming hot. Not that I've seen him before but others have, and the way they described him was just-" She stopped talking and fanned her red blushing face.

"We have history together, right?" She asked me.

"I don't know. Who was the one who sat beside you during History all this time? A ghost?" I sarcastically replied, giving a shock expression.

She groaned while I chuckled. Her eyes drifted to her watch before saying, "we have a few minutes till recess is over. Let's go eat and get to class early."

I arched my eyebrow. Since when did she go to class early?

"We have history next." She whispered giddily.

I rolled my eyes. "You go ahead and meet up with the boys. I'll catch up."

"'Kay 'kay." She spun around and left me in the hallway that was starting to become empty. There were only a few students left including me.

Then all of a sudden, I looked down to see a pair of familiar shoes appeared behind my locker door. I closed back the locker and my eyes landed on the most annoying thing to ever walk on this planet.

"Hi." He greeted with a smile, flashing out his white glistening teeth. I rolled my eyes at his position. His forearm rested on the locker beside mine, above his head while he ruffled his hair with the other.

"What do you want, Matt?" I questioned with an annoyed tone. I hugged my books tight as he stepped closer. Taking a step back, he noticed and halted.

"I was wondering if, you know-"

Oh I knew.

"I'm not going out with you Matt, that is final." I twirled around to leave him and meet up with my friends. However, he gripped my wrist and pulled me back, pushing me against the locker.

I winced. "What the-"

"You don't get to reject me and walk away." He harshly spoke, caging me between his arms.

"Piss off, Matt."

"You don't scare me, Hope. But you should be to me. I'm being as gentle as I can right now. And you don't want to see my bad side."

I tried to push him away, but he didn't budge. "Get. Off."

He leaned in, trying to kiss me. I kept averting my face away and screamed in my head for help. I realized the hallway was empty, just the two of us alone. Then he caught my chin and forced me to kiss him. I punched and pushed- I did everything. He wouldn't move at all. I closed my eyes, begging him to stop.

Unexpectedly, I heard him fall backwards with a grunt. What just happened? I opened my eyes to see. Instead of seeing him down at the floor, I saw a tall man with dirty blonde hair and tanned skin. His body was the same as Addam, tall and built. He stood over, cowering above Matt who seemed frightened.

"Do that to the lady one more time, I'll have you expelled." He warned Matt, then turned to look at me.

I gasped silently when his blue oceanic eyes met my hazelnut colored ones.

"Are you alright?" He huskily asked as he placed his hands on both of my shoulders, slightly bending down so we were at eye level.

I gulped. "I-I'm fine.. Thank y-you."

The school bell rang which indicated class was starting. I glanced at Matt for a second before picking up my books on the floor and scurried away, leaving the man behind. I could feel his stare on my back as I turn left to head to History.

Once I entered the class, I swiftly sat beside Vivian who had arrived earlier than usual. She gazed at me weirdly. She kept silent until I let out a sigh of relief.

"Where have you been?" She questioned with her eyebrow arched.

"Um.. would you believe me if I'd said I suddenly had diarrhea and had to spend around 15 minutes to poo?" I promptly spoke and flashed a nervous smile at her.

She narrowed her eyes and gave me that "seriously?" look. I opened my mouth to actually tell the truth, only to be cut off by a greeting that came from the door. All heads whipped to the manly voice. I had only turned, not because of the attractiveness of his voice, but the familiarity.

Standing in front of me was the same person who had saved me from Matt.

"Good morning class. My name is Jax Grey, you can call me Mr. Grey. I'll be your new History teacher starting today." He spoke, giving a smile that showed his perfectly white teeth.

History teacher? I thought back to what had happened earlier. What he had said.

"Do that to the lady one more time, and I'll get you expelled."

Of course. Who else would dare say such thing?

"So, before I start, let's all introduce ourselves. Who wants to go first?" He asked, glancing around the room.

Half of the class' hands shot up. Vivian was included. The girls were mostly waving their hands while still trying to look attractive. On the other hand, I kept mine down as I stared at my book.

The introduction started from the front left side. There were several attempts on flirting and trying to seduce the teacher. But he shook it off with a joke, cracking everyone up. As I laughed, I somewhat felt his stare at me. Yet I knew how delusional I was being.

Before I knew it, it was my turn. I tried pretending it wasn't. Then I felt a nudge. I titled my head to the left, shrugging as Vivian. She nodded her head towards Mr. Grey.

I hesitated for awhile, until he cleared his throat out loud. This caused Vivian to nudge me in the side, painfully. I looked back at him before smiling innocently and stood up.

"Please, introduce yourself." He said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"U-um.. My name is Hope Anderson."

The sound of my name made him smile somehow. I felt those butterflies inside my stomach. He grinned and nodded his head.

"So Hope, what do you like? Any interests or hobbies?"

"Oh yes. I love to cook."

"What's the type of food you always make when there are guests coming over?"

"Well I sometimes make my meatball spaghetti or when I'm feeling it, I make mac and cheese."

He nodded his head once again, still grinning like a cashmere cat before he stared intently at me and said something very confusing.

"Well I can't wait."
