The sounds of swords going against each other filled the air. Standing in the middle of the circle, a girl turned around and saw her third senior fall to the floor.

"THIRD SENIOR!" the girl screamed while running toward him.

His body fell into her arms, his blood filled her hand and tears flooded across my face.

"Chao Li." a voice from behind said.

The girl turned around facing him after a long time.

"How's my bear? Are you happy?" She asked him with tears in my eyes.

He pointed to his left and she saw Snow being hanged.

"Give up" he said.

"You took everything from me, what else do you want?" She asked.

"Chao Li, don't listen to him.." Third Senior said as he closed his eyes.

More and more tears came falling from her face.

"Don't cry, surrender and tell us how to use the Crystal Bear."

"Qing Han, why did you turn against me? Why did you have to betray me? When we were together, I didn't tell you everything because I knew something was odd. Did you know, you have to keep me alive, if you want to use the bear." the girl said.

Chao Li, the girl took out her sword and was ready to stab herself in the heart until Qing Han held her back.

"Chao Li, you're not gonna die yet. You're very useful to my father so I'm gonna keep you alive."

5 YEARS AGO....

"Emperor Sama, Chao Li is here to see you." Chao Li said.

"Stand up, did you know your family recently died in a fire."

"Yes, I know."

"Do you not have any tears?"

"No, my tears all came out on the day, there's no tears left."

"I like you. Thanks to all your things your family members did I'm gonna grant you a wish."

"Chao Li has one wish. That is to let me participate in the Tan Shang event."

"Tan Shang? The one this is held every 4 years to join Tan Shang Academy?"

"Yes."

"Ok, I agree."

"Thank you, Emperor Sama." Chao Li said as she bowed down.

Chao Li left the court room and went to Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace was a ancient palace where the Queen and King of Crystal Tribe stayed. It was the place where my both of Chao Li's parents died.

4 DAYS AGO....

"FIRE! FIRE! BRING WATER!" A maid shouted.

"Fire?" Chao Li questioned herself.

She ran toward the place where the fire was. She soon found out the Crystal Palace was on fire and her parents lived there. She ran in the palace until soliders held her off.

"LET GO OF ME!" She shouted.

"Ms. Li, you're parents are gonna be ok, don't worry." A solider said.

The soliders released her arms as the fire grew bigger and then Chao Li realized that her parents were not gonna come out of Crystal Palace alive.

One word flew through her mind "Revenge", she had to take revenge to those who put the fire. The fire seemed like it was planned on the hottest day of July, so she promised herself that she was going to take revenge for her family. As the fire cleared away, soliders went in and came out with Chao Li's parents dead body. She looked at her parents and walked away with unsteady steps. Chao Li walked passed Flower Palace and saw a dead flower sourrounded by pretty flowers. She walked toward the dead flower with heavy steps.

"You're just like me." she said.

A ugly flower sourrounded by pretty ones. All of a sudden, her tears fell on the flower and a white gleam went across the sky causing her to close my eyes. The next thing she knew, the ugly flower became a crystal bear. "Crystal Bear isn't it part of the Crystal Tribe? Why is it here in the Flower Palace?" she asked myself.

Snow started to fall from the sky and the bear woke up.

"Since, you don't have a name. I'm gonna name you Snow." She said.

He went into her arms and fell asleep, then snow stopped falling.

4 DAYS LATER...

It was all a memory both happy and sad things happened at the same day.Tan Shang's Fighting Competition starts tomorrow, Chao Li had to work hard in order to get in. As Chao Li stepped into the Crystal Palace and maid said: "Chao Li, there you are, Snow has woken."

Chao Lirushed inside the room and she saw a living bear. Snow ran toward Chao Li with energy and spranged in into her arms. Crystal Bears are supposed to protect their owners at all cost, this means that Snow would help Chao Li when danger arrives.

NEXT DAY, TAN SHANG'S COMPETITION....

Different clans come together to join the 4 year annual competition, out of 50 people who participated only 25 people can actually go, this means that Chao Li only have 50% chance of winning.

"Excuse me Miss, but you cannot bring this Crystal Bear into the competition." the guard said.

"Crystal Bear?" Academy's Teacher Liang Fen asked.

"Yes."

"This lucky girl has a crystal bear?"

"Yes"

"The Bear would be handed to me and she can come in".

Chao Li walkdd in and thanked the teacher. Inside there were many of the top clans. The Dragon Clan is the first clan that existed, it was famous for it's dragon techniques. Chao Li scanned the people in it's shiny gold clothes.

"Welcome to Tan Shang's Annual 4 Year Event. Like every year only 25 contestants can get to go to Tan Shang. Two contestants would face each other and fight each other, the winning person would go to Tan Shang. First round, Dragon Clan's Qing Wei against Qing Han from the Cloud Clan." the announcer said.

Cloud Clan? Chao Li thought, they had never showed themselves to the outside world but now they send someone to the competition. The battle between the two guys were firece. Dragon's Clans defense against the Cloud's Clan fast attack. In a blink of an eye, the guy from the Dragon Clan fell to the floor and the bell rang.

"Qing Han from the Cloud Clan wins." the announcer said and everyone clapped.

After many battles, it was finally Chao Li's turn to fight against to against someone.

"Chao Li against Gu Xing" the announcer said and the battle began.

The opponent attacked and Chao Li barely doged her attack. People cheered and soon Chao Li lost her mind of concentration. The opponent took this chance and attacked. Chao Li grabbed my sword and attacked her. She closed closed her eyes and a scene of fire appeared, Chao Li's blood began to boiling and she open my eyes. There was a strong gush of wing after Chao Li opened her eyes and the gong sound was heard again indicating the battle was over and Chao Li had won.

"Chao Li wins!" the announcer said.

Chao Li walked down the battlefield and spitted blood.

"Are you ok?" Qing Han asked.

She looked up to him and answered him "I'm fine, don't worry about me."

Without knowing Chao Li's eyes slowly turned red, his face looked changed.

"What happened?" Chao Li asked.

"Nothing." he said.

Just then, Snow appeared and fell asleep in Chao Li's arms. Chao Li's eyes turned back to brown and the Academy Teacher Liang Fei appeared in front of her.

"Come with me." he said.

Chao Li walked out with him with Snow in her arms until he suddenly stopped and asked her "He is yours?"

Chao Li stared at him blinking, wondering what he was talking about until he looked at Snow.

"Oh, yeah he's mines."

"Crystal Bears are told to protect their owners. When their owners are in trouble, they would help them. In your case, he's healing you right now."

"Healing me? I'm not hurt in anyway." Chao Li said.

"That I don't know. Crystal Bears are very rare, anyone would want it, once you die your Crystal Bear dies, if it dies you have to be careful."

"Thank you for telling me."

"That's the end of the competition...." the announcer said.

"Let's go back in."

Chao Li walked back in while the announcer continued "All 25 winning contestants are meeting up in 3 days from now at the time of the rising sun."

"Rising Sun?" Everyone questioned.

"Each day, the rising sun is different. The ones that don't meet here by the rising sun would be eliminated."

After the announcer said his final words, all the contestants left.

In three days, Chao Li have to meet up at during the rising sun, the task didn't seem that hard, Chao Li thought. She went back to Cloud Palace until a solider stopped me.

"Excuse me, I live here." Chao Li said.

"King's order not to let anyone inside." he replied.

The King wanted probably wanted me to leave in order to closed down Cloud Palace, Chao Li thought. Chao Li didn't bother to go to see Emperor Sama so walked out of the Palace. "Where would I stay for 3 nights" Chao Li thought. She walked passed the town and the word thief filled the streets, Chao Li turned around and saw a man running toward down the street. She walked in the middle of the street with Snow in her hands and closed her eyes.Snow disappeared and the man came closer to her as time ticked by. By the time, the man was 1 centimeter away, Chao Li opened her eyes and her sword flew in her hands. She took her sword and made the man kneel down in front of her. Chao Li snatched the item that was stolen and opened it, I saw it was a red flower.

"Why steal a red flower?" She asked.

"Don't be so interested in my stuff." he replied.

The girl can running down and thanked Chao Li . In return, she gave Chao Li the red flower that was stolen from her.

"Why is this red flower so important?" Chao Li asked.

"This red flower is a item that my family members passed down from generations. This red flower tells the time of the rising sun." the girl said.

Rising sun? Chao Li thought. That means this guy was part of the Tan Shang Annual Fighting Event. Chao Li kneel down and asked him "Who hired you?" He replied " I rather die than tell you anything."

In the corner, Qing Han pops out. "Idiot, I gave you one task and you still failed." he whispered. He rescued the guy with a flick of his sword and the guy ran away.

Chao Li didn't bother to go after him so she turned around and thanked the girl. Chao Li also asked the girl if there was anywhere she could stay and she recommended the Wing Hall. Wing Hall? The name sound familiar somehow but Chao Li couldn't remember. Chao Li thanked the girl and left.
