As my father was getting ready to go to the military I ran to his warm loving arms and cried. I wanted to never let go, never. I have many times but not today. I just can't. I just can't. Never. Ever. Please, this will never end. Never. Ever. Sometimes I just wonder will this day end. Will happiness end. Will I ever see him again.
"Please daddy, don't go, who will take care of me and mommy," I mumbled in his chest.
"Of course you will my dear Violet. Be strong and brave for mommy." He answered gently.
"But daddy will you come back?"
"I can't make any promises."
Then my mother cleared her throat.
"Violet dear let your daddy go." my mother skulled.
I let go of him to see his warm welcoming face for the last time. He walked over to my mother and gave her a kiss goodbye. As he walks out the door we wave to him and said goodbye. He turned around and yelled he loved us both, got in the truck, and drove off. I stand there and watch the truck go father out of existence. I turn around and look at my mother.
"Well let go to bed and I'll tell you a bedtime story, how does that sound," Mommy said with her best happy voice.
"That sounds good," I answered with a warming smile.
As we both walk to my room. She tucks me in bed and read me "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" where there are these seven men who live in a little cottage and this lovely lady name Snow White was living with them because her evil stepmother who is known as the evil queen tries to kill her well at the end she kiss the man of
her dreams and lived happily ever after. When we reach the ending she gave me a kiss on the forehead and left the door crack open. She walked out and sings a silent lullaby. Then it became silent.
Did my mommy fell asleep?
"Mommy are you still there?" I whispered.
There is still no answer.
"Mommy?"
I got out of bed and tiptoed to her room. Then I jumped at the sudden noise and notice it was my mom's phone. I
slowly walk to as if I were going to kill a fly with a fly swatter and pick it up. I knowest it was daddy calling so I answered.
"Alice are you there, are you all right, Alice answer me, Alice." My father repeated in worrisome.
"Daddy," I whispered.
"Violet, is mommy there?" He asks calmly.
"No daddy, she just gone," I answered.
"Okay sweetheart stay there daddy will be home shortly."
"Okay, daddy."
...
"Daddy where did mommy go?" I asked.
"I'll explain when you're old enough." He answered.
"Okay,"
"Okay,"
My father took me to bed and left the door crack open. I lay there in silence and wonder where my mommy went and why.
