The Kept Woman

In the throes of lovemaking

So hot... so sweaty...

The first thing that Catie felt was extreme pleasure from her lower body. Her eyes fluttered open in a confused panic. Someone was having their way with her! However, her thoughts scattered as that person slammed into her, hitting a spot that sent her mind whirling in hot pleasure. Again and again, her brain became a mixture of confusion and esctacy, her nails helplessly scratching against broad shoulders and a tight, muscular chest.

Pressure gradually built up with each stroke and at the bursting threshold, she heard a deep grunt mixing with her moan as she fell over the edge.

The two bodies held their intimate position for a while, panting in the blissful aftermath.

As her heart rate slowed, Catie found thag she could finally focus her eyes. What she saw made her conclude that she must be in a very naughty dream. Although it was too dark to see distinctly, a man who was the very definition of a male god greeted her eyes. Sweat rolled down tight 6-pack abs on a sturdy body with thick, muscular arms. Tousled silver hair flopped over a stoic, angular face as the man lowered his head to look down on her. Her breath caught as he lazily opened his eyes and gazed down at her. A real male god!

Catie has seen a few handsome men before, but none had the impact this one had.

Wow, she thought.

It was only after he slid out of her and wordlessly saunter into the bathroom, did she come back to her senses.

What was going on? She definitely did not remember picking up or meeting any gorgeous men. Was she just raped?

She did a check on her body. There weren’t any marks or bruises that she could see. She didn’t feel drugged or hurt anywhere... although her lower body was a bit sore. The last thing she remembered... was bracing herself for impact as a car crashed into hers on the highway.

Wait, what?

Something dark threatened to rise up inside her heart as the memory flashed by, but she subconsciously pushed it down to be dealt with later.

Looking at her body again, she felt strange. It was a very unfamiliar body. The skin was smoother, she didn’t have hair on her legs— her toes were a completely different shape! And they had nail polish?! And her hair! Why was it blonde?

She gave her hair a rub. Wow, how silky.

Catie looked around to find a mirror, but as she did, she made another startling discovery.

She was on a circular bed! She had only seen such things on TV in documentaries about rappers or when characters in a drama went to Las Vegas. And she had always wanted to sleep on one.

Her eyes as wide as saucers, something in Catie’s mind snapped again in response to the consecutive shocks. As a protective measure, her mind focused on the most recent discovery: the super soft yet bouncy mattress. Thus, it seemed perfectly reasonable to start joyfully rolling around on the bed. The bed was so large she could spread out all her limbs and never feel the edges. Rather, since it was a circular bed, there was only one edge! Catie started measuring the bed using her body. The diameter was roughly her body length plus a head...

This is what greeted the male god when he walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist.

Catie froze mid-roll at the sound of his footsteps and guiltily scrambled to a sitting position, hugging the blankets to her. She stared at him, unsure of what she should do. She still had no clue what their relationship was.

The man had froze as well, a hand holding a towel to his hair mid-rub. His eyes were cold and one of his bold, beautifully arched eyebrows was raised. However, he didn’t say anything. Catie stared back, unable to resist ogling him. From his face that radiated a cold yet intense aura, his inverted triangle of a chest, to his long, elegant legs, he was truly handsome, lean yet muscular. This moment only lasted half a second but to Catie, this half a second seemed to stretch on forever.

Catie briefly thought about asking this man about what was going on, but although they had just... *ahem* shared an intimate activity, something in her told her not to trust him.

The male god calmly finished toweling his hair and started walking around the room, picking up his clothes that were strewn on the floor. Was he going to pretend like she hadn’t just embarrassed herself? Catie hoped so.

The only light came from a large glass door that lead to a balcony. Moonlight gleamed off his hair and yet seemed to further enshroud the ***** man in shadows instead of illuminating him. Combined with his unsmiling face that seemed to be chiseled from stone, he gave an aloof, overbearing impression.

He spoke in a deep, magnetic voice. “I’ll have the bag you wanted delivered to you tomorrow.”

Catie blinked in surprise. “...Oh, thanks.” She didn’t dare say any more.

Silence.

He looked at her strangely. He couldn’t help but remark, “You’re very quiet all of a sudden.” Although he didn’t pay much attention to other people besides what they could do for him, this woman usually did her best to touch and whisper seductively at him every chance she got. It wasn’t a bad feeling and she never went overboard so he kept her around. However, since he got out of the shower, she had just been sitting there, watching him warily.

His comment seemed to startle her. Then, after a brief silence, “Oh, I’m still in a daze after what just happened.” She smile coyly, raising a bare shoulder. “You were amaaaazing.”

“Mm.” Was all he responded with.

Really, how cold, Catie thought.

She saw that he was getting dressed. “You’re leaving?” She tamped down the eagerness in her voice. As much as she enjoyed looking at him, she desperately needed to be alone to figure out what was going on.

He ignored her.

“I can stay here tonight, right?” While he had been picking up his clothes, she had saw a pamphlet on the bedside table that read “Hotel Montblanc”.

The man looked at her strangely again before throwing something at her. Catie caught it reflexively and discovered it was a key card. The next moment, the man finished dressing and strode out of the room.

Catie stared after him, a little stunned. He had left so fast, she didn’t even have a chance to thank him. Talk about a Wham, Bam, thank you Ma’am attitude!

On the flip side, she was finally alone! Throwing away the covers, she immediately sprinted to the washroom and turned on the lights.

As her eyes got used to the sudden influx of photons, Catie took a good look at herself. Staring back at her from the floor length mirror was a gorgeous young woman with flowing blond hair, seductive catty green eyes, and a bombshell body. Catie gasped, a soundless scream echoing in her mind.

Who was this?

Seeing her body seemed to be a trigger of sorts. Memories slowly began to reveal themselves in her brain.

She remembered an older man spoiling her every whim, a mother who died in childbirth, and an older brother who looked down her minimal capabilities. Her name was Catherine McMoire, the 26 year old narcissistic daughter of a successful entrepreneaur who spent her days as a model and playing around. She was also the kept woman of Ian King, the 30 year old CEO of a conglomerate who had his fingers in many pies.

While Catherine’s father was rich, comparing his resources and connections to Ian’s were like comparing a single bedroom apartment to a skyscraper. Catherine had eagerly hooked up with Ian to have a shot at the big spotlights and at the man himself. Ian however, simply viewed her as a pretty decoration and a way to relieve stress. He rewarded her services with limited edition baubles and accessories she wanted as well as acting gigs in major movies he had investments in.

At this point, Catie felt like she was still an audience member watching a movie of Catherine’s life as memories flirted by. She had some opinions on Catherine and her life but overall she felt that it was not a bad life!

It sure was nice not worrying about money all the time, Carrie mused. In her past life, while she wasn’t poor, she only had just enough to buy food after paying her bills and allocating a set amount to her investment accounts. She enjoyed her job as a programmer but it was at a small startup that had not yet boomed. Catie felt a pang of regret at not being able to see her work, which she sometimes called her baby, become a full product.

Anyways, back to the memories. Unfortunately, a single memory had surfaced that threw Catie for quite the loop. It was a memory of this very night.

They had just came back from a banquet his company had hosted in celebration for their 100th year as a company. There, while the original Catherine had been hanging onto Ian’s arm and enjoying the various looks; envious looks from the women and admiring looks from the men. Then, a young lady had come up to introduce herself. Ian had been strangely focused on the the blushing little girl. What was most striking was that the girl had rainbow-coloured hair and that her name was Rainbow.

Catie shuddered delicately as she harshly judged the parents that named the girl. More importantly, in her past life, she had once read a book that had such a character. She had forgotten the book’s title, but that cringey character setting would be something she could never forget. Catie utterly, absolutely, completely refused to believe that anyone in the real world would ever give birth to a naturally rainbow-haired baby and then also name her Rainbow. A naturally rainbow-haired baby was unrealistic enough, but then for people to name such a child Rainbow? Never.

Could she had reincarnated into that book? It was also possible that Rainbow had simply dyed her hair rainbow and legally changed her name to be Rainbow. But still, how did she end up in this woman’s body? Was this still Earth? Was she actually in a coma and dreaming all of this up?

If someone had been watching Catie right now, they would not only be a pervert who was illegally trespassing, but they would also think she had lost her mind. Sporadically pacing and stopping ***** in the middle of the washroom, Catie mumbled to herself, randomly making various faces while deep in thought.

At long last, Catie lifted her head and stood triumphantly in all her glory. She nodded determinedly at her reflection. “First step will be to gather information.”

Exhausted

Inside the washroom, Catie felt satisfied with her decision making skills. She started fiddling with the shower controls.

According to her memories, she was in a 5-star hotel that Ian and Catherine often went to for their “dates”. Also, it was the norm for Ian to leave immediately after the deed was done. The cold-hearted bastard never actually slept in the same bed as Catherine, or done anything remotely romantic. All his gifts were likely chosen and sent by his secretary on a vague order of his. He likely didn’t even know exactly which bag Catherine had wanted (some big name brand that frugal Catie wouldn’t know if it even existed on Earth), just that she had pointed one out and his secretary noted it down. Yet somehow, Catherine had believed that her charms were making headway and Ian was madly in love with her.

Catie believed that the reason why Ian had looked at her strangely when she asked to stay at the hotel was because Catherine liked to cuddle with Ian as much as she could and would usually walk out with him, clinging onto his arm. Catie wondered if that was actually the sort of woman Ian liked.

In the shower, Catie was thrilled to discover that an option made water sprinkle down from the ceiling like rain.

Soon enough, Catie stepped out of the steaming shower, her skin glowing pink and peachy. She started to feel incredibly tired. So tired that her eyes could hardly stay open when getting out of the shower.

After all, she had just “woken up” in the middle of sex and realized she had been reincarnated. The adrenaline and shock was finally wearing off and the toll it took on her body was becoming very evident. Catie stumbled out of the washroom and collapsed on the bed. She was blacking out. Mustering one last effort, she dragged a pillow under her head and flipped a corner of the blanket over her ***** body. After that, she was out like a light.

———

She was driving down the highway, her favourite podcast playing in her car.

“This is ‘******’, where we gather stories from normal people like you and me, and each week we focus on a theme. The theme this week is about dependency. There are many types of dependency, from children depending on their families to take care of them to drug addicts that only care about getting the next hit...”

The car smoothly navigated a turn in the road. There wasn’t much traffic here, nice.

“... We will tell the story of a relationship between a man who became dependent on a woman and in his obsession, made her become dependent on him...”

Suddenly she was looking at a man from above. Ian King, the male god, was staring at a woman with rainbow hair who was laughing with some shadowy person. Catie couldn’t see Ian’s face but she knew he was entranced. However, the more Rainbow laughed, the louder it echoed in the air and the more the aura around Ian turned ugly. Furiously, he suddenly grabbed Rainbow and tugged her to his side while shoving away the shadowy people around her.

The background changed to a bedroom where he was forcibly embracing a struggling Rainbow. She kicked, punched, howled, but Ian’s delicious body seemed to mutate and reform into a horrendous beast. The more she struggled, the fiercer his embrace, until finally, her arms listlessly fell to her side.

The scene changed again to Rainbow on the ground surrounded by jeering shadows, one of which turned out to be Catherine. Rainbow’s dress was ripped and soaked with her tears. Each time Rainbow struggled to get up, someone from the surrounding circle would viciously prod her back down. Just when it seemed hopeless for Rainbow, a darkness under Rainbow exploded outward, flinging the shadows away and causing Catherine to dissipate into thin air. It enveloped Catherine and dragged her under.

Scene change to Rainbow running away from Ian but suddenly she runs into the walls of a cage and realizes she had been inside all along. She reaches out past the bars to shadows outside the cage. One shadow starts to reach out to her as well... before they could touch, a beast, the beast Ian transformed into pounced on the shadow and Rainbow flinched back in fright. With the beast guarding the outside, the cage began to shrink, pushing Rainbow back to human Ian, who was waiting in the middle. She clung to Ian, shivering in fright at the beast outside.

A vision of the ending flashed by. A golden, sparkling light enveloped Rainbow, who had a peaceful expression. She was lovingly embraced by Ian with children giggling and flowers floating around them.

But as Catie looked on, Rainbow’s eyes suddenly fixated on Catie and hollowed into black holes with blood red tears streaming down her cheeks. Catie shivered in terror. Her clothes were in tatters and Ian’s arms became sleeves of a straight jacket suffocating her body. She looked straight at Catie, whose heart pounded louder and louder.

Help, the woman mouthed.

At that instant, the Catie was jolted as a car crashed into hers. The pounding of her heart became the screams of twisting steel as car after car crashed into hers. She saw Rainbow’s distorted face staring at her from all directions. She desperately turned the wheel trying to evade them, but to no avail.

Crash! Glass shattered, flying into her face, burrowing into her arms and throat. Her head snapped around as the car smashed into a pole and spun around it, flipping into a ditch running along the highway.

Down the car fell, deep down into the abyss...

Catie’s body spasmed as if her body had smashed into the bed. She gasped awake, her mind reeling as she came to understand that she had only been dreaming. It took a few minutes to calm down. Her heart was beating triple time and Catie couldn’t help going over the fragments of the dream, although she forgot more and more of it every time she tried to remember it. In the end, she only retained three impressions: Ian was a beast, Rainbow was a very scary undead, and she herself was undoubtably traumatized by the car crash that caused this entire thing.

Ever the resilient spirit, Catie made sure she was on a mattress and not a car, turned over, and slept some more.
