A young beautiful maiden, her attitude, and free personality automatically draw men from all over, Jia Shang being one of them. He courts her continuously but seeing that he could not capture Li Wei’s heart. He decided to go for a different method.
“Apologies Dear maiden for it seems that I have lost my mind for a moment. May I invite you to my humble manor as an apology?”
Jia Shang says as he extends his hand hoping to be able to see what the beautiful maiden in front of him looks like charmed. His eyebrows raise up unintentionally and the corner of his lips began to curl upwards.
Li Wei looks at him with an inquisitive glare. “No need to glare at me.” Jia Shang says as he lets out a laugh his elegant aura fills the air as many citizens and even shop merchants began to look over. Whispering to themselves and others around them. The servant behind Li Wei stands her ground as she comes in front of her master. “Please leave!” She says as her anger continues to rise for her master. How could there be someone so shameless! To touch someone like my master without permission and then have the audacity to try and court my master. This is truly too shameless!
Seeing that a maid began to intrude in his conversation with the young maiden Jia Shang raises his brow. Oh? This beauty actually has a maid with her. She must be from a decent family, Jia Shang looks up slightly at the maid before him. “Hmm, your eyes are quite dazzling. Has anyone ever told you that?” Jia Shang says as he reveals a smile and places his hand on the maid servant’s chin as he lifts the maid’s chin upwards while glancing eye to eye at the servant. He begins to laugh once more “Haha! My apologies, it seems I got too carried away. Hm well beauty, if you ever want to, the Jiang palace will always be open to you and your maidservant.” As he let go of the maid servant’s chin he signaled to his guard that he wanted to leave. He turned his back towards the pair that he had just talked to as he waved goodbye. While walking away he muttered “Beautiful people should stick together” though this was not heard by many. Li Wei has better hearing than most and she managed to hear what Jia Shang had said but she did not get too frustrated for it was something else that had gotten her attention. “Did he just say Jiang palace?” She said as she turned to the side to ask her maid while her eyebrow rose slightly. “Yes, master. He did say Jiang palace you heard correctly.” The maidservant replied while bowing respectfully to her master. “You know what this means don’t you?” Li Wei said as she began thinking of what to do. “Sorry master, I’m afraid I do not.” The maid replied while she stood up respectfully. “You can stop pretending little Xia!” Li Wei replied cheerfully “haha you can fool anyone except me because I know for a fact you're smarter than that!” She looked at her maid and started pinching her maid servant’s cheeks. “Master. I know I was wrong! I won’t do it again even if I was to be killed if I didn't!” The maid said as she dropped down and know-towed to her master this resulting to her beginning to bleed. “Quickly quickly get up! There is no need for this! You weren’t the one at fault, I know you want to seem dumb but you know that you don’t have to act like that when you're with me.” Li Wei smiled as she helped Little Xia up and as they both supported each other while walking together like a pair of best buds.
Two guards moved from tree to tree both in different directions. In just a few minutes the guards had arrived at their master's manor. “Master, you were right. She’s here in the shopping district. And she’s with that maid, their relationship seems to be very close.” The guard kneeled in front of his master, “Hmm, alright. Continue on standby.” A voice chilling enough to freeze even the toughest people replied. “Why are you still here?” The voice asked, “Uh forgive this servant but are we not going to appear in front of the maiden.” The knight said as he began to shiver, he had been serving his master for so many years but he still couldn’t withstand his master's oppression. The voice did not speak a few seconds passed and “do you know what you have done wrong?” The voice asked; the knight’s heart stopped for a split second. Asking that was truly too big of a mistake! Seems like I won't be getting my cake. The knight thought as he began to lecture himself over and over in his mind. “I shouldn’t have read too much into it! This servant will revive his punishment.” The knight began to walk towards the door hastily and just as he was going to open the door by the handle the chilling voice replied “It is not the right time for us to appear. 30 whiplashes as punishment. ” The knight stopped in his tracks but only for a moment, he continued on out of the room. After coming out of his master's room and closing the doors he stopped once again, this time he dropped down to the ground replaying the moment that had happened. His master one of the scariest people anyone could ever meet actually spoke a second reply and he actually didn't kill him for being a loudmouth. In all of history, no one has ever been able to get a second reply from his master without dying. “What. Just. Happened.”
“Oh, that’s right!” The knight went back into his master’s room as he kneeled down before his master once more. “Is there anything else?” His master asked the knight responded quite quickly because he knew that his master did not like having to wait for others “When I was in the shopping district there seemed to be another person watching the maiden and her maidservant.” “Oh?” The chilling voice said although nobody could see it because no one dared to look him in the eye he frowned slightly upon hearing what his knight has told him. “Hm. Did she talk to anybody?” The voice asked, “Uh not that I-oh!” The knight exclaimed as he quickly informed his master “The maiden did indeed talk to somebody and it seemed that the person they talked with was not very liked by both the maid and the maiden.” Upon hearing the words “both the maid and the maiden” the knight’s master was quite intrigued “both the maid and the maiden?” The knight replied, “Yes during there conversation the man grabbed the lady’s hand and seemed to have said something which angered the maid.” The room was silent for a few moments until the knight’s master asked “What did the man look like?” The knight stood up respectfully and replied “The man was very good looking, he had very distinct features. He has dark black hair and he wore a light blue embroidered outfit that seemed to be the outfit given to one of the other princes. What was it called again uh-“ “Light Sapphire” the knight’s master interrupted “alright you can go” the voice commanded. The knight walked out of his master’s room and continued with his daily duties. The knight was still quite shocked about how he managed to talk to his master once more without getting killed in which he said right after closing the door to his master’s door “This. Is incredible! But am I seriously not dreaming?”
In Jiang Palace, Jia Shang was growing more and more impatient by the second “When will he be back! It’s been so long since I left the shopping district. How come he isn’t back yet!” He shouted as the servant next to him peeled some grapes for him to eat he suddenly stood up. Pacing back and forth Jia Shang continued to complain after an hour or so his legs felt tired so he decided to go sit down again. Just as he was about to sit down someone opened the door. “Master!” It was his knight! Seeing that his knight has returned he wasted no time to begin scolding the knight for how slow he was “Oh so you finally decided to come back huh?! Do you know how long it took for you to watch over a girl and her maid! I think you haven’t been taking your job seriously. Who do you think yo-“
“Master! This is urgent! When I was watching over those to girls I had it be extra careful because it seemed like there was another person watching those two girls as well.” Jia Shang’s knight interrupted. Jia Shang’s eyes grew wider as he continued to hear what his knight has said. “Are you sure?” Jia Shang asked as he looked down at the knight that was still kneeling on the floor in front of him. “I want everybody except Li (the knight) out!” The servants who were in the room all stopped what they were doing and left one by one and slowly the only people that were left in the room were Jia Shang and his knight. “Explain.” Jia Shang said as his gaze fixed upon his knight and it seemed that not even a drop of dust could escape Jia Shang’s eyes. “When I was watching over the girls like you asked I heard some noises on the tree to my right. I stopped in my tracks and then I heard the tree on my right ruffle again. Though it was a windy day I didn’t want to risk getting caught. Afterward, I continued to stay in the tree and it was only after I made sure to triple check that no one was left in the tree did I leave.” The knight explained as he kneeled down to his master once again, nobody spoke for a few moments only until a few moments later did Jia Shang ask the knight to leave.
“What do you think?” Jia Shang asked while turning his head to look at the roof. There was no reply suddenly a person dressed in black jumped down from the roof and responded: “His story can be trusted but what you should focus on is what if there was actually a person in that tree?” The person in black sat on the seat that Jia Shang sat in moments ago but for some reason, the air in the room was completely different. Jia Shang looked like some rich family’s child when he sat on the seat but when the man dressed in black sat on the seat it gave off a fierce vibe. “If there was actually a person in the tree that would be a problem.” The man explained. ”There most likely was someone in the tree. Among all my knights Li is most sensitive to his surroundings. How dare someone try and covet something that I, Jia Shang has liked!” Jia Shang shouted with an aggravated look on his face. The man dressed in black quickly reprimanded “You fool! Who cares about that! What you should be worried about is who that girl is? It’s obvious that if someone was really watching that girl the girl either has some purpose to them or since the girl has caught your eyes she would have to be quite a beauty. The problem is that if there was a person who was watching the girl that person’s skill should be very great if one of your knights was not sure if there actually was a person in the tree. Not that your knight’s skills are that good but they’re decent enough.” These words both frustrated and enlightened Jia Shang. How could he say that this prince’s knight’s skills weren’t that good! But no matter what, partially what this old man is saying is indeed true. That was what he thought about the man that was sitting in front of him. “Do you mean to say that if the person that was also watching over the girl’s skills were great enough to the point that my knight couldn’t detect him 100%? The only people that would be able to train such knights would be either the 3rd prince or the crown prince.” Jia Shang asked as he began to ponder over which of his brothers could it have been if there was actually someone there. “Are you dumb?!” The man dressed in black said as he threw his arms up in disbelief! How could someone as stupid as the idiot before him be a prince? Did he bump his head when he was a kid? “The 3rd prince may be strong but he has no intention of claiming the throne.” The man dressed in black explained. “Then that would mean that the only person who it could be is the... CROWN PRINCE!” Both of them shouted.
