Breaking free

She would constantly check phone, scroll through her social media, and even read her texts. Anna's mom justified it as "being concerned" and "keeping her safe," but Anna felt like she was being treated like a child.

The lack of privacy extended to her personal space as well. Her mom would barge into her room without knocking, even when Anna was changing or studying. The door didn't have a lock, and Anna mom would often lecture her about not needing "secrets" from her own mother.

The journey to independent

Anna stepped on the train and onto the bustling platform, her heart racing with excitement and nerves. The unfamiliar sights and sounds of the city enveloped her, a stark contrast to the suffocating familiarity of her hometown.

She took a deep breath, shouldering her backpack and gazing up at the towering skyscrapers. This was it – her fresh start. After a few hours of journey she finally reached city X.

After stepping off the train, Anna rushed out of the train station, her backpack bouncing against her shoulders.

Anna stretched her arms and took a deep breath, feeling the weight of her decision to settle in. She had finally escaped the suffocating environment of her hometown.

Her eyes scanned the unfamiliar surroundings, taking in the bustling streets and neon signs. She spotted a row of motels nearby and made her way towards them.

"Time to find a temporary home," she thought, her mind racing with the tasks ahead.

Anna walked into the first motel, a modest building with a faded sign reading "Sunset Inn." The reception area was dimly lit, with a worn counter and a tired-looking clerk.

"Hi, I need a room for a few nights," Anna said, trying to sound confident.

The clerk looked up, eyeing her luggage. "Single room, $40 a night. How long are you staying?"

"Um, three nights, maybe more," Anna replied, unsure of her plans.

The clerk handed her a key. "Room 217. Elevator's down the hall."

Anna took the key, feeling a mix of relief and uncertainty.

As she settled into her room, Anna's thoughts turned to her future. She had escaped her past, but what lay ahead?

The next morning at 9 am she went on a house hunt after finishing her morning routine. After a few hours of hunting I finally came across an old apartment. It's...cozy, I suppose. But old. And worn. And slightly musty-smelling. But I can make this work. It's not perfect,

After a few days Anna's college was opening. Which was just 2 m away from her rented house. And started her part-time in XYM restaurant as chief under the guide as of Mr Lin Ye.

one week later

Anna woke up early, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. She had been waiting for this day for what felt like an eternity – her first day of college.

As she got dressed and ready, she couldn't help but think about the unknowns ahead. Would she make new friends? Would she like her professors? Would she be able to balance academics and social life?

Anna took a deep breath, grabbed her backpack, and headed out the door.

Hang university

Anna's eyes widened as she stepped onto the vibrant campus. The sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over the lush green quad. Students were bustled about, chatting and laughing.

Anna joined the stream of freshmen flowing toward the student union. She felt a sense of belonging, knowing she was among peers sharing similar experiences.
