Quite just enough that you would hear only your own steps so that you would get scared by even the quietest and most common of sounds

Dark so that you can't see in front of yourself, or the one standing in front of you

The one you believed to be insignificant, but the one who plays the biggest character of the stories

So let me start again, now for real...

Once upon a time, there was a dark forest.
Story teller
It was the 'darkest' forest in the area and so it was named the Dark Forest.
Story teller
And these are its stories...
The Little Red Riding Hood
Story teller
Once upon a time there was a dark forest.
Story teller
It was so dark and mysterious that people started to call it the Dark Forest.
Story teller
Somewhere in those woods was an old house and in that house lived an old woman.
Story teller
This elderly lady was visited only by her daughter and granddaughter who lived in a nearby village.
Story teller
As the youngest finally reached adulthood, she was let to go visit her grandmother alone.
Story teller
For the visit, her mother baked a cake and sent her a bottle of wine.

But still be careful, many people got lost in the woods recently and apparently there were sightings of wolves!
Little Red Riding Hood
Don't worry about me, mother, I'm not a little kid anymore.
Story teller
And so the young lady took her red riding hood and set off to visit her grandma.

It was dark in the forest, only a bit of sunlight showed through the trees the path.

The young lady suddenly heard noise that belonged to a beast.
Story teller
And not just one!
Story teller
She was surrounded by a pack of wolves.
Little Red Riding Hood
When she thought they would attack, they got scared by a noise coming a bit further away.

Oof, I'm glad I made it!

Are you alright, young lady?
Little Red Riding Hood
Yes! Thank you for your help!

May I know where you are going through such a dangerous place?
Little Red Riding Hood
I'm visiting my grandmother, she lives near here in the middle of the woods.

I know this place, but I never knew there was someone living here.
Story teller
And the girl called the Little Red Riding Hood told him where her grandmother lives.
man
Since you're visiting your grandmother, you could pick some flowers for her, I know a nice place!
Story teller
After the man showed her the place, they said their goodbyes.
Story teller
And when the young girl finally arrived, she knocked and someone opened the door.
Story teller
But it wasn't her grandmother...
Story teller
It was the man she met before.
Story teller
Since then no one ever saw her or her grandmother ever again.
Story teller
Her mother obviously contacted a hunter and he killed every wolf in the forest.
Story teller
And that is the reason why in the Dark Forest, you can't find a single wolf.
Hansel and Gretel

Once upon a time, there was a forest called the Dark Forest for its mystery.
Story teller
Even though there were many rumors about it, lumberjacks still entered them on a daily basis for wood.
Story teller
One such lumberjack always visited with his children who picked berries while he was working.
Story teller
But as it was hard to get enough food for four people, his wife instructed his to let the children, who recently became adults, in the forest.
father
I'll come pick you up once I'm done with the work.
Story teller
But he never came.
Story teller
After a few days of waiting and feeding only on berries and mushrooms, the two siblings realized that their father wouldn't come back for them.
Gretel
Hans, Let's try going down, there could be a river and near it a village.
Story teller
The young Gretel was a clever girl, but wasn't that much of a match for the mysterious Dark Forest.
Hansel
I don't think we have any other choice, Gret, I'll climb up a tree, the high one over there, maybe I'll see something from there.
Story teller
As Hansel climbed up, he could see lights shining through the mist.
Story teller
When they arrived, they found an old cottage.
Story teller
But the house wasn't made of any natural material, but from hard bread.
Hansel
Wait, this isn't just some bread, it's gingerbread!
Story teller
But just when they finally started to get their stomachs full, she appeared.
witch
What are you doing to my house?!

Well...you came just at the right time, I haven't eaten in some time.

The woman locked the siblings up.
Story teller
As she hasn't eaten much meat recently, she decided to eat them.
Story teller
But they didn't want to be eaten that easily!

Just when she was preparing the stove, the tables turned.

And as the still hungry children had more power, they easily forced her into the stove.

The woman could shout, but it was for naught.
Story teller
That's how these siblings became the man-eaters from the Dark Forest.
