I was born 16 year ago, my name is Kat and my parents went missing when I was 5. I was adopted by a 23 year old woman named Lillian, she was my parents best friend, but I call her Lily. "Hey Kat got ready for you first day of school." I hear Lily yelling for me "I'm ready Lily." I call to her. I've had a rough childhood because I can see ghosts and with my parents disappearance. While on my walk to school I spot something out of the ordinary is that a angel following a human. I started to follow them. The man is wearing a black coat and a hat so I cant see his face, the angel, he has short black hair and blue eyes, wearing a white cloak. what is going on, the man walks into a dead end and the man starts to pass out what is going on did the angel know that the man was going to die. "What are you doing." The angel irritatedly says, I was startled and said "Um nothing?" The angel turns around and looks at me oh crap hes looks angry "Can you really see me" I'm confused so I said "Yeah, I can see you." The angel then said "Why did you follow me?" "uh I wanted to ask you something about..." "What do you want to ask me?" I then hesitantly said "If you knew people named Lynn and Mark, they were my parents, they disappeared when I was 5." He looks hesitant to say but he did say "I have but I only have a lead of where they went." I was kind of happy to hear that, I can finally find them "Can you help me find them, please?" I said desperately, The angel then answered "I guess I can" I was relieved when he said that "oh uh my name is Kat, nice to meet you."

"I'm Ryder nice to meet you to." He answered

"I live down the road but I have to go to school right now so I'll be back." I quickly said

He replied with "Alright but why cant I follow you, in case there are any ghosts tailing you."

"Fine but dont cause me any trouble." I said. So I walk to school with Ryder and as he said he didnt cause me any trouble so after school I walked into home and yelled "Hey, Lily can you come here please!" Lily then walks over to me from the living room "What is it Kat?" She asks confused, I answered with "I found an angel to help me find my parents." Lily's eyes widened with shock and Ryder then asks "Are you sure you should tell her about me?" I look at him and I nod. Lily then starts to cry "Be careful, find them but dont-" I interrupted her "I'll be fine." and Ryder and I then walk out.

So this is it, how my journey begins.

"Oh uh where are we going?" I ask Ryder, he replies with "I heard a rumor about a warehouse that lost travelers would find and they would never be found again." Hearing that made me a little scared "What if I get lost! you just go back to heaven but I'll be stuck wont I!" I'm freaking out "Kat, dont worry your to cute to loose." He said it is a teasing voice, I was red so I turned my toward to the forest ground, he laughed. "Do you smell that." Ryder asks me "No..." I reply with "Why what's the smell" He sniffs the air and starts to follow his nose "smells like a ghost-" I looked at him confused "Angel's can smell ghosts?" He answers with "Yeah because angels use ghosts, we take their souls and can take living souls to but I dont do that." He was right I see a ghost behind a tree "What do we do?" I ask

He looked at me "I'll consume the soul-" I looked at him angrily "No." He looked confused and asks "Why not, it's my job." I ask him "Cant souls go to heaven on their own unless they have business in this world?" "Yeah" He answers "Why do you ask?"

"Well if he has business here cant we help him?" He looks a little irritated and says "Why do you care so much about helping a soul that I can consume and get stronger to help you?" "Cause he wont be happy if he didnt do what he wanted to do." I think I managed to reason with him "Fine, but this is the only time." I started to smile. I walked over toward the ghost and asked "I-is something wrong?" He stared at me "Y-y-you can must-see me?" "Uhm Yeah I can." He had a relieved but looks at Ryder and looks terrified "Are you going to consume my soul" Ryder looks like he ready to sleep "Nope" He says "She begged me not to." The ghost looks relieved so I ask him "Why are you still here" He answers with "Uhm I'm looking for the warehouse that people who get lost find." Me and Ryder exchanged looks, "We're look for the warehouse to!" Ryder and I say quickly "let's look for it together." After about 5 hours, it's now 12 at night, I jump with joy and say "WE FOUND IT, WE FOUND IT!" Ryder and the ghost look at me and laugh "What?"

"Oh its nothing." Well we found it now what I think to my self. "Kat, you need sleep." Ryder says in a demand voice "What do you mean?" "Look at you, your about to fall." Ryder irritatedly says "Alright I'll sleep what about you?" I ask Ryder, He looks a little tired " we"ll sleep right now and look at the warehouse tomorrow." I lay down on the grass and the ghost and Ryder have a conversation but after like a minute Ryder consumes the ghost. Ryder lays down right next to me and I sorta blush he laughs at me and we fall asleep.

My first day away wasn't so bad tomorrow will probably be worse.
