Waqt - The Time Travel
Chapter 1:- Raw Mangoes
Madhumati had been shouting on the top of her lungs, standing to the side of the farm...while Khushi was busy in plucking the raw mangoes from the large tree inside.
Khushi
"Oh no! Buaji is here already!!" (Are nahi, Buaji to pahonch bhi gayi yahan!")
Khushi scrunched her nose, sitting on the top branch, as she threw remaining of the fruits towards her friends down....Payal and Anjali.
Payal
"Khushi, these are enough. Now come down fast!" (Khushi, itne kafj hain. Tum neeche aao jaldi!)
Payal was looking at her angry mother-in-law, coming in their direction... as she beckoned her from down.
Khushi
"Bhaujai! Don't get so much tensed..." (Bhaujai! Itna pareshan mat hoiye...)
Khushi assured her sister-in-law, jumping down directly to ground, her skirt flaring up...with the sudden stunt.
Madhumati
"Hai re Nandkisor!"
Buaji had reached them, and panting badly with all the running she had to do.
Madhumati
"How shameless this girl has gone?" (Kitni besaram hogayi hai ye ladki?)
She put a hand on her big waist with intense angry expressions....
Khushi
What shame in getting some fruits Buaji!" (Ab kuch phal lene me kya sharam Buaji!)
Khushi straightened her clothes, tying her hair up, putting her milky neck on display, before taking a bite on the green mango, closing her eyes with the intensed sour taste
Khushi
"You shouldn't get jealous of young girls!" (Is tarah chhoti bachchiyon se jalna nahi chahiye aapko!)
Khushi gave her a mischievous smile...in order to rile her up more.
Madhumati
"Jealous and me?" (Jalan aur humein?) Buaji got offended.
Khushi
Of course.... now an old woman like you don't have age to eat raw mangoes. Those days of fun are gone for you Buaji..." (Aur nahi to kya...aap jaisi boodhiya ki umar to rahi nahi ab kachche aam khane ki. Aap ke maze karne ke din to chale gaye na Buaji...)
She winked at her, while Anjali and Payal giggled, Madhumati glaring at them
Madhumati
"Bahuriya! Did you forget that you have a husband, returning in the evening? Go home!" (Bahuriya! Kya tum bhool gayi ho ke tumhara ek pati bhi hai, jo saam ko lautne wala hai? Jao ghar jao abhi!)
She scolded Payal, wife of her son Akash, who just nodded with lowered face, holding her veil close, while Anjali their neighbor accompanied her home.
Madhumati
"And you Khoosi! Don't you know Advay Babua might be around?" (Aur tum Khoosi? Tum ko pata nahi hai ke Advay Babua kahin aas paas hi honge?) Buaji slapped her niece lightly, "What if he found your stunts and denied to marry a monkey-woman like you?" (Kahin unko pata chal gaya tumhari harkaton ka aur unhone tumhari jaisi bandariya se saadi karne se mana kardiye to?)
Khushi snorted, while being busy in digging her white teeth in the raw mango...her black eyes shaped with the bold strokes of kajal, and the brown curly hair locks teasing her white milky skin...
Madhumati
"I'll talk to him! The quicker you got married, lighter my burden would be!" (Hum baat karenge un se! Jitni jaldi tumhara byah ho, utni jaldi hamara bojh halka hojayega!)
Madhumati continued.
The childish antics of her niece was hard to handle now.
Khushi
"I am not going anywhere Buaji!" (Hum kahin nahi jarahe Buaji!)
Khushi spoke munching the fruit,
"And I'll never marry that weird Advayji. Not even once he has looked at me properly!" (Aur hum un ajeeb Advayji se byah bhi nahi karenge. Unhone aaj tak ak baar bhi hamein theek se dekha tak nahi!)
According to Khushi, Advay was too kind for her.
Madhumati
Shut your mouth Sankadevi! Taking name of your would be husband!" (Apna mun band rakho Sankadevi! Apne hone wale qasam ka naam le rahi ho!)
Madhumati again snapped her,
"And he is a good boy. Not like those perverts...like that Syam!" (Aur accha ladka hai vo. Syam jaisa lafanga to nahi hai!)
But Khushi was not paying any attention to her banter, busy in kicking the pebbles in the way with her bare foot, as Buaji held her wrist to drag her home. Her skimpy blouse and skirt giving glimpses of her body as she kept walking with few jumps here and there...enough to tantalise any man.
And that was also enough to worry Madhumati who didn't trust the pervert men of the village, having their dirty eyes on her niece...biggest one being Anjali's husband Shyam, living in their neighborhood.
Madhumati
I'll get an auspicious date from Panditji!"
(Hum Panditiji se keh ke ek shubh mahurat nikalwate hain!)
Madhumati decided....'Only then I could take a breathe of relief.' (Tabhi hum sukun ki saans le paayein ge!)
Chapter 2 :- Marriage
Advay was busy in cutting the wood log, in a white loincloth, and a cotton shirt on his upper body, while legs bare...the tiredness taking over him as the day was setting.
He wiped the sweat away from his forehead, raising the axe to hit the wooden log, his muscles tightening by the force.
That's when he saw Shyam coming from ahead. He was just a guard in the Royal Court....but had attitude of being the most superior in the village.
Shyam
Didn't you return home yet Advay babu?" (Are Advay Babu, ghar laute nahi kya ab tak? )
Shyam had stopped in his tracks, giving a wicked smile to him
Shyam
Tsk tsk poor you! After all you are not paid by the King every month....you'll have to toil, till you earn some money!" (Tsk tsk tumhari qismat! Bhai ab har mahine thodi na Rajaji tumhein tanqwah dete hain....tum jaison ko to paseena bhana hi padta hai, kuch paise kamane ke liye!)
He again teased him.
But Advay was not someone to retort back for the silly matter as he chose to stay mum, getting all the taunts silently....doing his work diligently.
Shyam
Poor Khushiji....such an outstanding beauty and she has to get married to you!" (Bechari Khushiji....itni ghairmamuli khoobsurat aur unhein tum jaison se shaadi karni pad rahi hai!)
Now that was Shyam's real agenbite, as he twisted his talks.
He had been lusting after Khushi, trying to get his claws on her although Madhumati was successful in keeping him away...till now.
Shyam
But don't worry poor man! I am ready to help whenever Khushiji needs me!" (Par tum fikar mat karna bhai! Jab bhi Khushiji ko hamari zaroorat padegi, hum madad ke liye tayar hain!)
Advay might take any insult on his personal self...but such lewd and lascivious things and that too about his fiancé.... he lost his temper, as he snapped his fierce eyes towards Shyam.
For a moment Shyam got startled seeing the anger on his face, as he found Advay charging towards him.
Advay
"You bastard!" (Kameene!)
He pushed Shyam behind...his patience withering, but before that Shyam stabilised as he removed his sword, ready to stab in him...when Akash saw them...as he was also on his way back to home.
Akash
Shyam!" Akash shouted making him stop,
"Advay, step back!" (Advay peeche hato!)
He controlled both of them...standing amid.
Khushi
Next time you dare to talk about any woman like this! I'll kill you and cut you in small parts just like this woodlog!" (Agli baar kisi bhi aurat ke bar me aisi baat karne ki himmat mat karna tum! Main tumhein maar dunga aur is lakdi ki tarah tunhare chhote chhote tukde kardoonga!)
Advay warned, while Akash stood for his friend.
Akash and Advay were childhood friends. Being an orphan, Advay was treated not less than a son by Madhumati. But after all these years, she had asked him to marry her brother's daughter Khushi.
Being indebted to Madhumati, Advay had agreed for marriage...although knowing fully that Khushi didn't have any interest in him. In addition he had also earned Shyam's wrath
Shyam
Will deal with you later!" (Tum se to baad me nipat loonga!).
Shyam warned back, not before growling at the two men. He was weak now...and didn't want to put his job in danger as he ran away
Khushi
"He was talking rubbish about your sister Akash!" (Vo aapki behen ke bare me bakwas kar raha tha!)
Advay frowned, as Akash let Shyam go unharmed.
Akash
Control yourself Advay. He is a royal guard....has more power than you or me!" (Apne aap ko qabu karo Advay. Vo ek Rajasi sainik hai...tum-hum se zyada prabhavshali hai voh!)
Advay sighed as he couldn't bear the insult any more. Shyam had really made his life a hell since last few days.
Khushi
"Akash....ask your Amma to get us married tomorrow itself. After marriage I'll take your sister to some other village. I can't bear this Shyam anymore!" (Akash apni Amma se kahiye ke hamari shaadi kal hi kardein. Byah ke baad hum aap ki behen ko lekar kisi doosre gaanv chake jayenge. Ab ye Shyam ko hum aur bardaasht nahin karsakte!)
Akash thought about it as he agreed with his friend
Big fat tears were flowing down her smooth cheeks, as Khushi got ready for her wedding..
Khushi
"Bhaujai, why so soon! Am I really a burden to Buaji!" (Bhaujai itni kya jaldi! Kya hum sach mein Buaji ke liye ek bojh hain!)
Khushi asked her friend Payal, who also had tears in eyes as she made her wear the jewellery.
Payal
"Don't be silly Khushi! Marriage is not about burden. You will be very happy with Advayji!" (Nahi re pagli! Shaadi, bojh ki baat thodi na hai. Tum Advayji ke saath bahot khush rahogi dekhna!)
Payal
"He has bought a big land in nearby village. You would have a luxurious life!" (Paas wale gaon me unhon ne ek badi zameen kharidi hai. Dekhna tum donon ki zindagi bahot aishoaarama wali hogi!)
But Khushi had something else in mind.
She was a girl having dreams of a fairy-tale love story. She wanted sparks in her life....while Advay was definitely not that man who could give her that twisting roller coaster rides.
A simple, uncomplicated and guileless Advay and a happy-go-lucky Khushi....it would really be a spiceless life.
Khushi
'Please Devi Maiyya...do some miracle and stop this marriage!' (Devi Maiyya...kuch to jadoo kijiye aur ye shaadi rok dijiye!)
Khushi prayed, wiping her tears, while Devi Maiyya sighed
