It began on a certain day, when she went back to Durban to fight for her career again, she sneaked on her old campus and slept there at the 24hr study. Next morning, she bathed at the sport centre and made her way to her new campus to confirm the firm offer for medical studies. She'd never been so nervous yet excited that finally a second chance was upon her.

When she finished the proceedings at the campus, she was then told now she has to wait for registration day so happy, she prayed silently and made her way to her old campus to sleep again. Next day, it was Saturday so she decided before she heads home, she ought to visit the congregation so she did, not long the meeting was over but worse for her was yet to come.

Afterwards, she made her way back to her old campus, but not long as she left, she felt dizzy, she overestimated her fatigue, when all things started she saw a shadowy figure and called out for help. " Hello there, if you can hear me help, I..." she collapsed in the estranged young man's arms without finishing the sentence.

Moments' later, 5hours to be exact, she woke up hooked to IV-fluids in a warm, comfy bed which happened to be in one of Durban's finest hotel, but how she came to be here ? Who is the estranged man whom saved her ?

She slowly opened her eyes, looking down besides her, her saviour's eyes met hers and with a smile, "welcome back, you had me worried, I'm Nhlaka" he said as he came over to her bed. "I'm Nolitha, where am I? What happened?" she asked panicky. He took her hand and hold it firmly reassuring her, she collapsed and he took her to his place to recuperate.

True to his words, earlier as she collapsed in his arms, he took her to his car and drove to his hotel room and had called emergency healthcare off-book to avoid the necessity information. The doctor attended to her, giving her vitamins, put her on drip then told him to let her rest and she's out of danger.

The doctor got paid for his services with a promise to not utter any information about this and will comeback in two days time to check upon her. He told her this and she was taken at such compassion but then started to wake up and took off the drip, slowly thanking him for saving her life but she's got to leave. She tried standing but to weak then he rushed to her side, supported her fall and advice her to take it easy as the sedatives are still in her body she must still rest.

He told her that the doctor told him to take care of her till he comes back and then she can leave. Though, adamant she felt that her body wasn't ready to move so she agreed to recuperate. "Please pass over my cell need to tell my family won't be coming back today" she politely asked and he gave her, her backpack. She called her family and told them that she collapsed and will recuperate and will be staying with her friends for awhile before she comes back. They wished her speedy recovery and hope to see her soon.

"at a friend's ? " he said smiling, she picked a pillow and threw at him then slept. He was somehow relieved to her cooperating and as he watched her silently sleeping, he was seemingly taken not long he brought himself together and left the room to attend to his affairs with a silent promise that he'll make her dinner.

He went to his room to finish his work on his laptop. Moments later he went back to check up on her and she was still heavily sedated, with a curious look on his face, he reached for her backpack and went through it's contents. There was her laptop, her clothes, her book draft amongst other things, he read the book draft.

He was fascinated with her writing and got to know a little about her, such her full name and likes. She was named Nolitha Thwala and he was named Nhlakanipho Hadebe. He finished reading and went to the kitchen and made dinner. He came to leave the food by her bedside with a little bell button near a note 'ring if you need anything' and left for his room.

Hours later, she woke up saw the dinner, arrange herself to eat but she found it hard to move so she yelled 'help', he came rushing and when she told him about it, he offered to feed her, she became reluctant to agree. He told her, she can either starve or open her mouth while tasting it and saying yummy to make her interested.

She obliged and being fed, she thanked him. He gave her the bell and her meds then told her to rest. She jokily said, "yes doctor" , he let out a grin and left the room. After prayer, the sedatives let her rest again.

Next morning, Nhlaka woke up early to prepare for work and attended to his guest by making her breakfast, giving her meds and helping her go to the shower and bought her new clothing. When Nolitha exited the bathroom and went to bed it was all changed and her IV was too, he came back and hooked her up to the drip and told her that he was going to work but will come back early and asked if she was hurting. She wanted to say no, she didn't want to bother him but then told him it hurts to walk upright.

Nhlaka told her the doctor was going to come tomorrow and that the maid was going to be around, she could ask her if she needs something but Nolitha told him that she won't be stepping outside or bothering anyone and she preferred only him know she's here. Nhlaka honoured her wishes, by promising to tell the maid to not go to her room then he left for work.

She's smiled and glare at the room, finally she was alone to her thoughts but how does one process almost dying and being saved by a stranger. Nolitha took her phone and found many miscalls from her family, she urgently responded to some reassuring them she was fine though at that moment the pain in her ankle intensified. She didn't want to let out scream so the maid won't hear her all she could to was play soothe music to her earphones and sleep then hope by the time she wakes up Nhlaka will be back at lunch as promised.

Nhlaka, at the opposite of town, at work he was acting very weird than normal, forgetful, apologetic, his head was not in the game, the manager had agreed to let him go at lunch if he finishes filling in time. His colleagues could see that something was off though he renounced everything was fine, he quicken and finished the filling then rushed off to his hotel. This wasn't like him to worry like this for a stranger, he couldn't exactly grasp it but the seed was already planted.

One could ask why for a stranger, he was so worked up, little did he know his brief talk with her and reading her book opened something to him, the need to care and to love but really was that going to be.

At exactly lunchtime, Nhlaka came back and thanked Rita for keeping his home clean and told her it okay, she can be excused to other room, he'll take care of the rest. This was new to Rita, a hotel guest excusing her but she obliged and left. He quicken and prepare lunch for Nolitha with her favourite drink and yoghurt m, he came back with, he came to the room, surprisingly she was still sleeping and he set it next to her meds besides her bed and took out the IV as it was depleted.

Nhlaka shook her to waken her so she can eat and drink her meds. She was surprised that he actually came back, "I was afraid you weren't coming back and the maid will find me so I kept quiet and slept", she said thanking him for the meal. "I do keep my word but more importantly how are you feeling today?" he replied.

Politely Nolitha assured him, she was better, her energy was back the only pain she was still sustaining was in her ankle and it was a little swollen. He was a little worried but the doctor was gonna be back tomorrow so hopeful everything was gonna be okay.

Suddenly he suggested since she can't go outside, he'll let the fun in, at this room there was an LCD TV so he went to take an Xbox at the living room to play with her to kill time. She didn't show interest at first but as the time went by she was on a winning streak. "if I knew you were this good, I wouldn't have considered playing" he said. She laughed" it must be beginner's luck".
