Falling for A Straight Guy Is A Big Mistake!
Episode 1: New Beginnings
Jason
ugh First day at a new school. Do I scream “awkward transfer student” yet?
Emily
You’re fine, Jason. Just… don’t trip over anyone’s desk this time.
Emily
Once was enough. Relax, you’ve got this. Find a cute guy to crush on and make it fun.
Jason
Ha. Ha. Very funny. I’m here to get good grades, not heartbreak.
Emily
Sure, that’s what they all say. Anyway, text me after! 💕
Jason shoves his phone into his pocket, takes a deep breath, and steps into his new homeroom.
Mr. Keller
Ah, our new student! Introduce yourself, young man.
Jason
Hey, uh, I’m Jason. Nice to meet you all.
A few murmurs ripple through the class, but one voice cuts through the chatter.
Liam
Welcome, Jason! Hope you survive Mr. Keller’s pop quizzes.
Jason
(Turns toward the voice)
Uh, thanks…?
And there he is. Liam—leaning back in his chair, easy grin, tousled dark hair. Jason’s heart does something weird.
Jason
*Great. My first day, and I’ve already found trouble.*
Lunchtime. Jason spots Liam sitting with a group of loud, laughing friends. Against his better judgment, he walks by.
Jason
(Startled)Oh, uh, sure.
Liam makes space, flashing that same grin. Jason tries not to notice how it makes his pulse race.
Liam
So, how’s the first day? Surviving the chaos?
Jason
Barely. Everyone’s… friendly, though.
Liam
Yeah, we’re a decent crowd. Just steer clear of the cafeteria sushi. That’s survival 101.
Jason laughs despite himself. Liam’s easy charm is disarming, and for a moment, he lets himself relax.
Jason
*He’s just being nice. Don’t read into it. Don’t—*
Liam
So, you play soccer? We’re short a player this season.
Jason
Uh, yeah. I used to.
Liam
Perfect. Practice is tomorrow. You’re in.
Jason feels a mix of panic and excitement. He knows this is a bad idea. But he also knows he’s already in too deep.
End of Episode 1~THANK YOU~
Episode 2: Practice Makes Trouble
Jason
*What did I get myself into? Soccer practice? I haven’t played in years.*
Jason stands awkwardly on the field, adjusting his borrowed cleats as Liam jogs up.
Liam
Hey, New Guy! Ready to show off your skills?
Jason
Oh, you know… totally.
Liam
(Laughs) Don’t worry, we’ll go easy on you. Just don’t trip over the ball.
Jason
(muttering) Thanks for the vote of confidence.
The practice begins, and Jason surprises himself by keeping up—until he trips while trying to score, landing face-first in the grass.
Liam
(Grinning) And he’s down! You okay, man?
Jason
(Trying to laugh it off) Yeah, just testing the durability of the grass. It’s solid.
Liam helps him up, his hand warm and steady. Jason feels his face heat up.
Jason
*Stop it. He’s just being nice.*
As the practice ends, Jason grabs his bag and starts heading off. Liam catches up, slinging an arm casually over his shoulder.
Liam
Not bad for your first day. You’ll fit right in.
Liam
So… you wanna grab a drink or something? Some of the guys are heading to Rico’s.
Jason
*Say no. Say no. Don’t make this worse.*
Liam’s grin widens, and Jason curses himself for the hundredth time that day.
Jason
I’m doomed.
He invited me out
Jason
What was I supposed to do, say no?
Emily
Yes! He’s straight, remember?!
Jason
I remember. Trust me.
Emily
Good luck, idiot. Don’t fall harder.
Jason tucks his phone away as they reach Rico’s, the sound of laughter and clinking glasses spilling out.
Liam
Alright, rookie. First round’s on me.
Liam
(Grinning) Nope. You’re part of the team now.
Jason smiles nervously, but inside, he knows he’s already in way over his head.
Episode 3: Lines Blurred
Jason sits at a booth in Rico’s, sandwiched between Liam and another teammate. The laughter and noise of the group are overwhelming, but Jason’s focus is on the way Liam’s arm keeps brushing against his.
Liam
So, Jason, any hidden talents we should know about?
Jason
Uh… not really. I’m kind of just average.
Liam
Doubt it. You’ve got something. Come on, spill.
Jason fidgets with his drink, his heart racing. Liam’s attention feels both thrilling and unbearable.
Jason
Well, I’m decent at drawing, I guess.
Liam
Drawing? Nice. You gotta show me sometime.
Jason
(Blushing) It’s not that great.
Liam
(Leaning closer) Bet it is. You just don’t give yourself enough credit.
Jason’s stomach flips. He’s about to respond when the loudest teammate, Jordan, cuts in.
Jordan
Liam, stop flirting with the new guy!
Jason
(Choking on his drink) What?!
Liam
(Laughing) Relax, man. Jordan’s just messing around.
Jason’s face burns as the table erupts in laughter. He forces a smile, trying to laugh along, but his heart sinks.
Jason
*Of course, it’s just a joke. It’s always a joke.*
Later that night, Jason walks home, replaying the scene in his mind. His phone buzzes—a text from Emily.
Emily
How was it? Still doomed?
Jason
Yep.
He’s nice. Too nice. And Jordan basically outed my crush.
Emily
Oh no… what happened?
Jason
Liam laughed it off. Like it was nothing.
It was nothing to him…
Emily
Jason… I know it sucks, but you’ve gotta protect yourself. You’re setting yourself up for heartbreak.
Jason
I know. I can’t stop, though.
Jason sighs and puts his phone away. He glances up at the stars, wondering why he can’t seem to let this go.
